@alasdairm, the old thread got locked before I could respond. I ran short on mental bandwidth needed to engage in forum debates this week.
You see, my job falls under the scope of the Biden vax mandate. As I'm sure you are aware, the initial deadline passed this week.
End of fiscal is usually a stressful, busy time even without the pressure of having to decide if I will risk being fired for not complying with unreasonable demands.
I remain hopeful though, as justice seems to finally be getting traction in the U.S.

On another note, I finally put my finger on why your line of questioning annoyed me so much - it struck me as being a bit of a strawman.

Re-reading what I wrote, I think it was fairly clear that emphasis was on the fact that
enough healthcare workers refused the mandate that it became politically untenable. I think that choosing to focus instead on what "large portion" means specifically is something you decided as a point of attack rather than a question made in good faith. 1% or 50%, neither possibility would change the reality that the mandate had to be cancelled.

Moving ahead, I remain convinced that the majority who have taken the vaccines will agree with us refuseniks - that this pandemic is now just an excuse to implement technocratic totalitarianism so "keep people safe", as our lying, thieving, hypocritical so-called leadership would have us believe. These people all have their villas in France, paid for by the fruits of their graft, and want you to believe that your neighbour puts you at mortal risk by daring to going to his day job and earn an honest day's wage for honest work.

@Yourbaker pointed out, many of us "refuseniks" are not fundamentalist anti-vaxxers. We have simply had enough of being lied to by:
- the government - that claims to be tolerant and inclusive when it's giving our money away to pet "social justice" causes but not when it's trying to jam a needle in our arms
- the newsmedia - infested with spooks pushing spin, promoting experts with blatant conflicts of interest, and intensifying social divisions to fulfill anti-social "engagement" metrics
- the healthcare industry - rife with malpractice scandals and that laundry list of pharmaceutical industry sins for which financial settlements are still owed. need I even mention all those eugenics programs carried out under the guise of healthcare in the past? Tuskegee, Nazis, Unit 731
And most of all, we're sick of feeling marginalized in a society that increasingly would rather trust and defend these liars and hypocrites than side with fellow citizens in choosing freedom over totalitarianism.
