I feel like I'd be remiss, on a website ostensibly dedicated to harm reduction, if I didn't push back against the idea that 1) COVID-19 doesn't exist, and 2) it's no more deadly than the common cold or flu. It does exist and it's substantially more deadly than the flu.

Even if you use the higher-end estimates of worldwide deaths due to influenza, it's substantially lower than the worldwide death toll so far over the past two years due to COVID-19
