Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

4 cases

out of > 230k

do you have any idea how to calculate statistical significance? its really not that hard
I didn't claim it was statistically significant. I didn't even give an opinion about it. I simply posted a paper I saw about 4 vax related adverse events for people here who are interested.

"Chinese Scientists From Wuhan Discover "Potentially Deadly" New Strain Of Coronavirus"

"While the strain presently targets bats, the scientists said it has the capability to infect humans as well. And should that happen, it appears the new strain "could not be cross-neutralized by antibodies targeting SARS-CoV-2 or MERS-CoV" meaning natural immunity and vaccine-induced immunity would likely be powerless to stop it."

I also stopped a while ago. They seem to be more straight forward now. They're decent for economic and medical stuff. I haven't seen any articles of theirs that were BS in a long long time, but I don't go to their site. I just see what they post on Twitter. I think they became more trustworthy with their content (at least on Twitter) after Twitter suspended and then reinstated their account.

except the paper doesn't state that they are related. there were 2 other cases in the same time period in people not vaccinated.

their conclusion states:
"In conclusion, the overall number of cases observed does not allow to draw any definitive conclusion over a possible causal relationship between SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and AHA"

for those who like to point to claim that there is no pandemic based on their own interpretations of excess death numbers (deaths are a shitty metric anyway for a disease that causes long term health problems for many), here are what people who actually know how to analyse such data think:

@chinup

What percent of the excess deaths, do you think, were caused by lockdowns and mandates, etc? (Serious question.)

I don't believe that there are significantly more deaths in countries like Australia or the UK from COVID than are being reported. If you get the virus and you are ill enough to die from it, I'm guessing you're going to be aware that you're sick.

I assume that the adjusted numbers coming out of first world progressive countries like Canada and the US are pretty accurate.

The Chinese numbers are wrong. The numbers from India are wrong. The North Korean numbers are bullshit.

In Australia in 2020, up till the end of October we had an increase of around 5,000 people which is an increase of about 5%... and we've only had 3,500 registered COVID deaths total throughout the entire pandemic (the vast majority of which occurred in 2021).

I suspect the lockdowns and curfews and mandates have also killed a bunch of people.

Haha! :ROFLMAO: I think it's a great metric personally. I mean why else would I or anyone else be concerned if people aren't fucking dying. Because of 'long term' problems? What, after 2 years? The people who fall into that category undoubtedly have something else wrong with them and credit is being unduly given to a viral cause.

Trudeau decides to be a coward and hide from the truckers -

Last night, I learned that I have been exposed to COVID-19. My rapid test result was negative. I am following @OttawaHealth rules and isolating for five days. I feel fine and will be working from home. Stay safe, everyone – and please get vaccinated.

And then there's this...

Just the usual, dehumanizing people who don't want to go through the rest of their life having to prove their health status to appointed kommisars before having the privilege to participate in social events, or access money, or even buy liquor and pot to help cope with not being allowed to do anything but buy food and pharmaceutical drugs.

Vaccine passports have been a great reality check for everyone. Tyranny and authoritarianism doesn't just magically vanish because we believe we're better than that. Freedom and democracy requires active participation from every citizen, not in the form of voting but vigilance against absurdities which should be countered the moment they spring up.

If the polls are accurate (yeah, right) then 60%+ of the public has apparently never heard of the truism:

the road to hell is paved in good intentions

600 people killed themselves in nz due to the lockdown way more than fucking covid the plandemic has always been bullshit aswell

ahead of your eager substantiation of your claim, i did a little unscientific research. related reading:
