US Politics The Mueller Investigation - report is out

Xorkoth mentioned China. What does China have to do with Mueller Investigation?

A gentle and polite reminder was posted. Stop personalizing things and flipping out.

Anyway, Mueller is going to testify and the politicians are going to be trying to favorably politicize issues to the right or to the left, and I wonder how well he’ll handle it. Based on his prior appearances, he’ll do well.

OK, you just have a tendency to bust my balls and grind my gears.

Do you agree now that the Mueller Investigation was a bit of anticlimactic fake news?

I don't agree.

If you look at the objective content of the report...there's multiple things in there that would have wrecked any other presidency.

But it didn't wreck the most scrutinised and misrepresented administration in modern history? Do you at least admit that the findings of the report are extremely underwhelming in contrast to all the accusations?

Could we see some quotes from people pro/against the report being damning/not damning? Just curious? What did I miss?

Original claims: Russians hacked the DNC. Russians gave kompromat to Trump admin. Trump and Putin colluded? Trump team organized or supported Russian trolls?

Mueller report: zero indictments or evidence relating to any of these claims. A few people charged with unrelated and relatively benign offences. Allegations of obstruction relating to Trump understandably pushing back against a bogus witch hunt.

Goal: weaponizing the intel agencies to remove Trump.

Result: Trump is still president.

I'm surprised there's no active threads about Mueller's testimony today. I'm seeing quite a few tweets about it, and I'll try to share some. However, first to share is, from of all people, NBC news:

Mueller deflected questions 198 times. We tracked when he did it.

...
Some of Mueller’s deflections
Mueller has declined to answer certain questions throughout his testimony today, and deflected or deferred answering others. His reasons include: He didn’t want to speculate, couldn’t get into internal deliberations, had answered the question in his report, or was under orders not to answer a particular question.

...

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn.: One of the key players in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting was Natalia Veselnitskaya, who you described in your report as a Russian attorney who advocated for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act. Veselnitskaya had been working with none other than Glenn Simpson and Fusion GPS since at least early 2014. Are -- are you aware of that?

Mueller: “Outside my purview.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas: “When you were appointed as special counsel, was President Trump's firing of Comey something you anticipated investigating, potentially obstruction of justice?”
Mueller: “I can't get into that. That's internal deliberations of the Justice Department.”

I'd love to see a breakdown of the deflections against Dem-Rep questions, as well as certain content that was deflected overall (obstruction, Misfud, those not charged, those charged, etc).

I think the reason he can't discuss this is there is an open investigation into the foundation of the FISA work and other spying, and I would be the DOJ said he can't talk about it.

I haven't watched the hearings, but the feedback I'm seeing is he was awful, simply awful. Other things I'm told would be that he was quick to agree with Dem questions, and started most responses to Rep questions with his own game of 'take a drink when when he says'

Repeat the question
Not in my purview
What page
I stand by the report
Can't get into that

And from a known biased person (Trump supporter) there was comment that the media coverage zoomed in on the Dems when they asked a question and left Rep inquirers off screen when they had a turn. Seems some will look for outrage under every rock.

EDIT: The videos below show that is patently false.
