US Politics The Mueller Investigation - report is out

Mueller Hits a Nerve

Trump accuses Facebook of being 'anti-Trump

President Donald Trump accused Facebook on Wednesday of being “anti-Trump,” hinting without evidence that the social media giant colluded with “Fake News” organizations such as The New York Times and Washington Post.
------------------
Facebook has been under scrutiny with critics alleging that Russia-linked advertisements on the social media site attempted to boost Trump's candidacy, particularly by attacking his general election rival Hillary Clinton. Facebook has said it will give congressional investigators details of the Russian-purchased ads, a decision that comes as special counsel Robert Mueller and congressional panels probe the Kremlin’s role in last year’s presidential election.

Trump last week framed the news as a continuation of what he maintains is a “hoax.”
----------------------
And the president has continued to deride and seek to discredit mainstream news organizations, including CNN, The New York Times and Washington Post. But he followed up his “anti-Trump” post by touting who he said is “Pro-Trump!” — the American people.

“Virtually no President has accomplished what we have accomplished in the first 9 months-and economy roaring,” he added.

Y'know, not all of us here have the same acuate magnificence to our mentum as you, Ms. Duggles. And please don't lump us with the Trump family genes.

"Destroys the Russian conspiracy theory narrative" single-handedly. Well, shit, better show it to the judges who issued all those warrants.

Think the posts up above go to show this isn't just a "Russian conspiracy" issue. Like we've been saying.

Yeah I know, that lie was just used to launch the investigation.

What we're witnessing now is investigation creep. Looks like they might even nail Manafort, and maybe Flynn.

But don't get your hopes up that they have anything on The Donald.

You can say a real estate deal in Arkansas started it, it's real, and it's moving forward pretty fast, for these things.

And I hope it does creep up and devour them all, if Trump doesn't go completely unhinged paranoiac first.

Edit, and he may resign or make a deal, I don't expect him to ever do any kind of prison time. I just want him out. While there's anything left to save.

Tucker interviews Rob Reiner on Russia Hypocrisy
In this video Tucker Carlson single-handedly destroys the Russian conspiracy theory narrative. Its ridiculousness falls apart under the most basic of scrutiny.

Julian Assange Says He Will Provide Evidence Russia Narrative Is False in Exchange for Pardon

Ahahaha.

Until I knew you were doing roll play satire you actually had me worried with your zany, off-the-wall lies. You are pretty good at this LiquidMethod.

If you don't mind breaking character, what did you satirize before you had Trump material? I would imagine almost anything would be more challenging to make fun of.

Also, I'm not clicking those links. I've been rick-rolled enough to know a risky click when I see one.

Here are some links from journalists who value their reputation among free thinking peoples, and who take steps to insure unsubstantiated lies are not tolerated:

Fake black activist accounts linked to Russian government

A social media campaign calling itself "Blacktivist" and linked to the Russian government used both Facebook and Twitter in an apparent attempt to amplify racial tensions during the U.S. presidential election

Twitter finds hundreds of accounts tied to Russian operatives

Twitter said Thursday that it had shut down 201 accounts that were tied to the same Russian operatives who posted thousands of political ads on Facebook, but the effort frustrated lawmakers who said the problem is far broader than the company appeared to know.

Study: Twitter users shared more 'junk news' than real stories during the 2016 election

During the height of the 2016 campaign, Twitter users shared more “misinformation, polarizing and conspiratorial content,” than actual news stories, an Oxford University study released Thursday says.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to what the Russians did to manipulate thought and opinion through social media. I found these links with just ~5 mins of searching, if that. There are lots of other stories pointing to the deceptive manipulation of social media by the Russians, but to post them all would be simply too much. It is already bordering on TL;DR.

Let these examples serve as examples, knowing that this problem and its ramifications are far more broad and dangerous than can be explored in a single post without being TL;DR. Gonna be quite interesting as more and more things are declassified.

It is important that people realize the scope of actions taken by Russia in its assault on American democracy. I think the vast scope of these operations will become apparent in the coming months.

And am I the only one here who was alive in the eighties?

I agree that the Soviet Union was never the threat it was made out to be, and that Russia now is more in fear of cheap oil than anything. But dammit, right-wingers, you spent that whole decade doing Red Dawn shit about them, then knowingly support their candidate. And get defensive about it.

Yeah, I has a bitter.

Shimmer.Fade - you are completely unhinged, and there is a reason you refuse to click those links.

It is because they prove your theory to be nonsensical rubbish and there is no way for you refute them, therefore you don't even try.

If you were confident you would watch that clip. So I'm not going to read your propaganda unless you read mine. Best idea wins.

Shimmer.Fade - you are completely unhinged.

Here we go again...

I would prefer it if you keep your ad homs to yourself even though it makes your character less entertaining. Rules are rules you know?

Anyhow, I would prefer not to give those guys' organizations ad money for the sake of keeping up your schtick. You do bring a smile to my face with your satire however :D

Provide us with more 'facts' please! =D

yeah. he accused obama of wiretapping him with absolutely no evidence so can we safely ignore this claim too?

:\

alasdair

Actually this investigation proves his claim, as there was taped conversations between manafort and trump that were taped at Manafort's residence at Trump tower. Still sketchy, but he wasn't crying wolf.

Or, that Manafort might have been under surveillance? You know, the guy all sorts of press pointed out was shady as shit?

i'm sure this isn't the first time trump has been under investigation, or the target (intentional or not) of surveillance.

people don't generally develop the kind of reputation trump has (for mafia associations or money laundering) without attracting the attention of police or FBI.
it's not like his organised crime links are a well-kept secret.

trump has a list of shady connections longer than my arm (or his teeny tiny hands) - his presence on surveillance audio isn't necessarily political.
in fact, it's jumping to major conclusions to assume it was political.

trump doesn't need to "cry wolf" - he skips that and just backs a truck in and dumps a load of steaming bullshit on the whole discussion.

he is a fan of crying "hey, look over there!" while his dodgy administration and dodgy family do shady, illegal shit though.

...that were taped at Manafort's residence...
trump's claim was "Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped"". the justice department reported that this claim was, simply, wrong.

fwiw, the original fisa court order to surveil manafort was issued before he got involved with the trump campaign.

the manafort news is unrelated to trump's false claim.
