Global Events The Middle East - Palestine, Israel, and Iran

So what do we all think of Israel deciding to denote several Iranian banks - including their central bank - as terrorist organisations?

Personally I think it’s a dangerous step well across the lines of legitimate warfare that could set a dangerous precedent.

What if, by some miracle, the British government decided not to intervene on the Israeli side? They could simply decide the Bank of England was a terrorist organisation and freeze our economy?

Seems ridiculous… much as this new approach from the Israeli Bureau of Economic Warfare seems to be a helluva stretch…

And if they truly felt this was a valid weapon in their arsenal, why sling a boatload of missiles over the border first?
its becoming more and more popular to designate political opponents as terrorists. Israel does it, the US does it, Russia does it, Turkey does it

eventually everyone will be labeled terrorists I guess

Yeah, the UK government is currently deciding whether or not to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist group because they… sprayed red paint on planes :|

Ironically, the woman who will be making the decision (foregone conclusion) was wearing a Suffragette Rose in parliament the other day…

You either laugh or you cry :!

It's so unfair to call this the policy of only European nations or people. Zionists have such a big hand in this.
you're right, and there are many Zionists in those countries

Zionism isn't someone who lives in Israel but rather whoever supports the Zionist project which is defined by creating a Jewish ethnostate through ethnic cleansing and genocide

there are many, many Zionists in the US and I would guess that there are many in the UK and EU as well

Israel is an extension of the US as well, they're part of the same exploitative imperial machine

I do both at the same time ;)

So Israel has been found to be mixing crushed oxycodone - in large quantities - in the bags of flour distributed by GHF.

They also regularly shoot starving Gazans whilst they queue up for said flour.

Are these things possibly connected?

I mean starving is bad enough, but starving and clucking hard?!? :roll eyes:

Almost as if “moving suspiciously so we shot ‘em” was pre-planned… :sus:

Do you have a source for the oxycodone claims? A quick search brings back some random sites mentioning something related to that, but nothing I would consider super credible. I just want to be mindful of misinformation and being careful of spreading inaccurate information on an already sensitive issue.

I did see that Israeli soldiers have indicated being ordered to murder Palestinians who were waiting for food.

What a nightmare.

All of this was in the podcast I provided a link to.

I've said it before but as they mention in the podcast, Benjamin Netanyahu is on trial for corruption, in a speech told the Israeli public to 'stock up on patience' and managed to dupe the US into a kinetic war with Iran. Israel could not hope to invade Iran...

But if the US could invade Iraq for WMDs that didn't exist - for WMDs that are almost certainly going to exist in a few months, invasion IS the only option.

The US got duped because the glorious leader wanted to believe Iran already had nuclear weapons in spite of US intelligence services as recently as April 2025 saying that Iran had no weapons program. Israel played him like the dupe he is. Now what?

Don't forget, China and India won't sanction Iran. So is the US going to attempt to threaten both India and China? I'm sure every other western nation will now distance themselves from the US. So US isolationism will happen - just not in the way people imagined.

So good luck with your forever war.

BTW Are people aware that in the last local elections in Palestine, Hamas lost - hugely. They were predicted to lose the next general election. So they likewise had lost of power as an additional driver. I don't think it's any secret that the MOIS (Iranian security service) had been supporting them not only finanially but also with training and intelligence.

Lest we forget, there was a massacre of 344 young people at the Nova Music festival.

Which is why I have been careful not to comment on subsequent events.

To quote Jerry Garcia 'The problem with choosing the lesser of two evils is that you are still choosing evil'.

I don't know enough about Palestine Action to comment. Clearly breaking into military installations and damaging aircraft is a criminal act but a quick Google shows that while they were relatively low key until recently, they have been involved with similar acts previously incuding infiltrating an Ebit site in the UK. Both should be highly secure but there are people with skillsets that mean they know how to observe security protocols and bypass them. I'm sure those people took no part in the actual 'protests'.

If people missed it, a British Citizen was arrested in Cyprus for providing the MOIS with a list of take-offs and landings at both the commercial and military airfields. But nobody else has been arrested so another 'useful idiot'?

Sometimes the only way to win is not to play.

Starting from the killing of innocents at Nova Music festival just doesn't make any sense.

You do realize that Israel was founded on the back of bombings of innocent people in hotels and other civilian gatherings?

The leaders of the terrorist groups that committed said acts later became Prime-Minister of Israel.

Both sides are doing terrible things; let me make that clear. It's just not fair to suddenly say the start of this conflict is 7 October 2023.

He quotes specific sources in the video and has proven to be highly accurate in other reporting.

The sources on the ground specified that tablets of 'oxycodone' were found in flour. There are multiple photographs of the pills. They all appear to be round flat white pills without a breakline and the imprint G80. I can find no images of oxycodone that are the same as the pills shown.

I cannot find a source that suggests that any flour has tested positive for oxycodone nor that any of the tablets have been proven to contain oxycodone. There are certainly statements issued by institutions but none of them provide any sort of information that would allow others to confirm or refute the character of the pills. You would know the name of the manufacturer at the very least.

If such an institution was actually in the position to confirm character of the pills, they would have had to use instrumental analysis and yet there is no instumental data.

Call me fussy, but if you DID have instumental data, you would make damned certain that it reached the media so that their could be no doubt.

I'm not saying that it's fake, I'm merely pointing out that it's a serious allagation backed up without any evidence beyond 'because we say so' and while it's fine to author a piece on 'pills suspected of being oxycodone', I don't think it's reasonable to uncritically accept an un-named source without any evidence that the pills are indeed oxycodone.

All I can say is that no professional journalist would write that copy, if only because if it proves untrue, the journalist's veracity will be called into question. With social media 'stars', if they are wrong, it doesn't matter because tomorrow they will move on to another topic. This form of pseudo-journalism has a formal name 'manufactured outrage'. Whatever the final outcome, can we please take note that manufactured outrage is just one tool in the culture war. The goal is to produce an emotional reaction but move on quickly enough to prevent critical analysis.

BTW is it just me or is that the same image but one version is simply rotated by 90 degrees? Of course, we don't know where those images came from or when they were taken. I feel it incumbent to remind people that deceptive images are very common these days and one needs to apply that same level of critical thinking to news items that align with your beliefs as you would to items that are at odds with your beliefs.

Make no mistake, I am under no illusion that Israel would introduce oxycodone into the flour supply if they thought they could do so undetected. I mean, the pagers and walkie-talkies that were booby-trapped was an absolute exampar of a supply-chain attack. So leaving whole pills in flour does not strike me as a planned operation. There are a host of other agents that could more easily have been introduced and which would be far, far more difficult to identify. I mean anything from Abrin (metabolized before victim dies) to pesticides (plausible deniability) to dimethyl mercury ('long fuse' i.e. patient is asymptomatic for 3-9 months depending on dose, symptoms manifest and progress in a manner easly confused with MND).

I fully accept this analysis and withdraw my factual claim.

However, I would point out that the fact it seems even remotely feasible says a lot - and none of it good - about IDF tactics in Gaza.

BTW do people remember last week when someone noted that there were a group of right-leaning commentators who appeared popular among those people who self-identify as being part of the MAGA movement? They would repeat provably untrue statements and we wondered what the point was since it was so evidently fake?

I explained how they were funded including examples, links to court cases, proof of payments by proscribed individuals (Russian agents). Remember that?

I finished by noting that the goal of such podcasts (or, rather, the goal of the Russian Direct Measures unit) is not that people believe them, it's to make people distrust the media in it's entirety. I then went on to say that on that basis, I would PRESUME that there will be left-leaning podcasters who in the same way and for the same reasons will likewise tell provable lies. I employed the term 'pay-to-say' as this is the model.

I also noted that there were also people pushing crypto in exchange for being 'airdropped' some of that crypto for free. So essentially they had an interest in pumping the price of a given coin up as much as possible. But at least that was a bit less opaque. Reprehensible certainly, but not illegal - and many would argue that someone dumb enough to trust someone on a Podcast to recommend crypto out of charity is someone who deserves to lose money. I don't, I think their target demographic ar the desperate. Just like religions.

Then there are the serial scammers. So why not goodle Damo Rants AKA Damien Willey. Because it's well worth your time... Check out his 2020 GoFundMe appeal for a 69YO mother whose 16th century cottage had suffered storm damage. I mean, aren't houses insured? The lady's name? Frences Willey. He set up a GoFundMe campaign for himself...
