What is all this? (gesturing around) What does it mean?

The more I read about the nature of the universe, the mechasnisms that do things like impart mass to matter or make objects solid, the more surreal the world becomes. Subatomic particles are made of... sort of nothing, kinda. I can't say I have a grasp of quantum physics, but I keep seeing headlines like "Universe may be a Hologram, says astrophysicist".

And truly, we get down to brass tacks here, there is the objective vs. subjective reality debate. How much do our perceptions (and our perceptual defecits) affect our inner model of the universe? And what is really out there?

For all you know you are a disembodied consciousness in an immaterial void experiencing pure hallucination. Everything, everyone you know, is a figment of your imagination. What if?

And really, I can't be the only person who finds reality to be "thin" somehow, or shallow, and worn and frayed at the edges. And behind this facade? Can it even be known by a single conscious mind? Am I even real, or is my awareness just some projection of some Celestial Dreamer, creating all the infinity and experiencing it first hand?

This is my frustration: I can never know.

you already know. you have a relationship with your surrounding reality, and it loves you, you will know everything on the otherside, rejoice that you are here experiencing. your are here to celebrate and create.

I think the fact that multiple people are asking similar questions is a good reason that a reality does exist.

It might be that our self-created language has given rise to a lot of these philosophical questions.

Why have we even created the terms of subject/object or the terms of I, me, you, we, mine, etc etc etc?

Does our own language have any bearing at all to reality?

Language, in my opinion, is more of a barrier to proper understanding of these concepts... It's exceedingly difficult to articulate such abstract ideas into English. But then again, language is the best we've got, lacking ESP.

And yes, I've noticed an increase, dramatically so, of discussions oddly specific to the "everything is one, the one is aware, we are manifestations" hypothesis, especially in the last 5 years or so. Hivemind seems to be getting rather preoccupied with this idea.

Lifting the veil? It's all within...

Here's something to examine and contemplate, perhaps...

One's "surrounding reality" is not outside, it's inside.

Light comes in through the pupils of my eyes, and I can't see it until it is IN.

What I am seeing is literally inside me (consciousness or awareness).

Including my own body!
