The ISIS Megathread

the flag they held up in the window is not the IS flag.

p.s. i'm not one of the hostages, sorry if this disappoints.

Yeah, its pretty pathetic that the first reports of this situation immediately claimed the flag to be ISIS flag. It shows a deeper bias IMO :\ Not a pretty one...

Exactly just b/c they are holding up a religious muslim symbol doesnt mean this is an act motivated by religious hate/aggression. People just want to hate

Yeah, but combine that symbol with its historical meaning (black standard as used by jihadist groups recently) with an act of violence; keeping people hostage; and its pretty difficult to see this as anything but a religiously motivated act. Its disingenuous to think this is a chance coinciding of those two things. If it is, the guy doing this is stupider then he already appears to be.

Well they do look a lot alike. I can see how the mistake could be made.

I saw that the Taliban blamed the U.S.

LOL.

That it was in 'retaliation' for hunting down militants.

Fucking COWARDS. Of course they call us cowards for using drones and other airstrikes... And mention how many children we kill, as if it is the same. The key difference is that we don't try to kill innocents. Not to say the result of our actions is so awesomely perfect, of course nor the execution.

My dream weapon: Nanobots that propagate into everyone. With them I am connected to everyone in such a way that I can sense when bad things like this are about to occur, and like a natural response, without much thought, just cut the rotten off. Drop dead sick terrorist. Then maybe if that technology existed they and what leads to them could be fixed. Yep. Darn it. I don't get to be a badass. Not even in my own fantasies.

Sure buddy. The Australians gave this guy asylum, their liberal legal system let him walk free while facing accessory to murder changes for the killing of his wife and rape, and then he goes on to do this. Despite displaying a flag of radical Islamists and many other indicators, many radical leftists will play the same old broken record. McVeigh, Brevik, Bible verses saying it's ok to kill...it's getting old.

So far in this argument I have to say that 'the left' weighs more, or less, whichever is better.

Not that I necessarily disagree with the 'conservatives', or right, or whatever, or that a good argument couldn't be made. It just hasn't occurred, IMO.

BAGHDAD - At least 150 women who refused to marry militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, were executed in the western Iraqi province of Al-Anbar, Iraq's Ministry of Human Rights said.
According to a ministry statement released Tuesday, ISIL militants carried out a number of attacks in Fallujah and buried the victims in mass graves in one of the city’s neighborhoods.
"At least 150 females, including pregnant women, were executed in Fallujah by a militant named Abu Anas Al-Libi after they refused to accept jihad marriage," the statement said. "Many families were also forced to migrate from the province’s northern town of Al-Wafa after hundreds of residents received death threats."
The ministry said many children died when their families were stranded in the desert after leaving their homes.
ISIL controls many areas in Al-Anbar and is attempting to take over Ramadi, the province's capital city.
The U.S. is leading an international coalition that has carried out a number of airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria since the militant group captured the northern province of Mosul back in June.
