The ISIS Megathread

Fox News: Muslims don't need help to understand ISIL

Stupid.
You can justify (almost) anything.

You seem not to be able to form coherent paragraphs but i barely mention that compared to others on here

Now more back on topic

It's hard to avoid hearing a sort of breathlessness emanating from the description of ISIL's latest grotesque release. When the death cult put out a video showing the burning alive of the Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh this week, many commentators alluded to the slick production skills, special effects and careful editing.
There's this queasy mix of revulsion for the deed and near-admiration for the delivery mechanism, in some of the analysis of frames from what is essentially a snuff movie.
And when Fox News decided to publish this latest ISIL terror offering, it sent the video to the top of the charts; since Tuesday, the clip has received over two million views.
Analysts have noted before that it is precisely the juxtaposition of medieval violence and modern media savvy that draws attention to the twisted propaganda of the so-called Islamic State - with this latest now dubbed a "Hollywood style execution". The sadistic videos are designed to make us talk about it - and here we are, talking about it.

The rest here at AlJazeera

Okay i know Fox news does not exactly pander to the brightest bunch but do they really think they need to point out to Muslims that ISIS are nutters? I mean who the fuck do they think has been on the receiving end of ISIS attacks? Who do they think has been the ones fighting off ISIS? That's right those evil brown people have been fighting ISIS and are all too familiar with the brutality they are capable of. But right wingers especially the type of morons that watch fox don't even realize that there are different sects of Islam and that ISIS hates the Shia's, moderate Sunni's and Sufi's much more then they hate westerners. The Kurds who have done most of the fighting are mostly Muslims of different sects themselves with Sunni Islam and Sufist Islam probably being the top 2 there.

Also burning people alive is hardly a thing ISIS came up with. In the New York slave revolt of 1712 twenty blacks where burned to death even though that form of punishment was not allowed to be done to white people by that time. In the New York Conspiracy of 1741 the upper classes where worried that the working class Irish who where usually "indentured servants" aka slaves and blacks where joining together to slaughter the ruling class. It was little more then a case of mass hysteria but at the end atleast 13 blacks where burned at the stake along with a few white people as well i think. More recently it was not uncommon for Southern slave owners to burn their slaves alive as a example to anyone else who might think of escaping. So it's hardly a new Phenomenon or anything. This is not even mentioning how people get burned alive in Mexico even to this day.

What I said doesn't require a paragraph, and you understand it. I'm not sure what you're getting at sir but I've never had an issue writing essays when I've needed to. I've never gotten less than a B on one in a class... Perhaps online I don't follow the rules of writing perfectly, but Its like everything with you is a personal attack. You look for anything.

And, talk about coherency, I can count numerous errors in your writing, nearly always. You use THEN for then, but also, than. And, I stumble every time I see your incessant error to not use the right there, their, or they're. And there are probably other errors. Seriously man, you want to get on me about forming coherent writing. I scored above 98% of the population on my SATs on that/general "Enlish", or whatever, and again, never have issues with people, who are actually teachers of English, understanding me.

And really, to be a critic, your post structure is crap, above. First you title the thing about ISIS and Fox, and then squeeze the bit about my "coherency" in knocking down your justification of destruction, then proceed to talk about the topic at hand.

Maybe my "Stupid" comment was harsh, but seriously, people could have been in some of those buildings, that were set on fire. I'm pretty sure in some, they were. No matter what, the destruction that occurred could have led to violence, and it wasn't needed. I mean I doubt most of these people that were looting or setting things on fire gave a shit about Mike Brown or the truth. They just used it to be degenerate shits. You act like anything about it was noble. You'll say "those without a voice...". What the fuck ever. That's not an excuse.

Going back to your attack on my not making a simple statement into a whole fucking "coherent" paragraph... way to detract from the topic, and invite more of this shit, needlessly. Yea man.

"P.S."- Sorry for adding to off-topic talk. It just gets on my nerves being personally attacked any time someone doesn't have a real argument against me.

cant we just agree that religion is kinda gay and a little outdated for life in the 21st century?

I agree, in respects, but I don't think everything about religion is "outdated". Anyways, I was referencing p a's insistence that his advocacy of destruction of Jiffy Lube et cetera is somehow justified and even noble, to be clear. Not religion. Though yea, that ties. True. Moses committed genocide, yet is somehow "justified", by the religious direction. Moses- who might, nowadays, be a "terrorist".

^ I was not making fun of your paragraph structure or grammar i was merely stating that you usually make as much sense as a Squirrel on acid. My own grammar is shit altogether and i would be the first to point that out. Also i have no plans yet on blowing up big pharma anytime soon so yeah go to your doctor and get something like Haldol or Navane because you are clearly delusional or just on a constant meth binge. Maybe getting out of the house more and actually mixing with people who are of different cultures would help as well. Or are you afraid of the Jews controlling your mind through their ancient Jewish ways :D

Also i still believe in the destruction of Petite Bourgeois business when the destruction leads to something worth while enough to justify it. And why the fuck not considering their class interests conflict with mine as they have a vested interest in the state and the people who protect and serve the state which would be the cops aka state lackeys

Anyway i'm done arguing with you as this has gone far enough off topic as is and in either case you can't argue with some nutter who goes on about brain mutations and shit that makes no fucking sense st all and is not the least bit on topic. Anyways i have had enough of it so any future arguments will just be you ranting at the computer screen and nothing else as your ignorance on all topics has long since stopped being amusing.

This thread is about ISIS not your delusions so in the future if you have a problem with me PM me or better yet forget about it.

My discussion of my "brain mutations" (gene mutations, which correlate with altered function, but don't necessarily presume dysfunction, even if I admit I struggle... Not that struggle must be bad) was in the line of first you accusing me of being on meth... Then me firing back at your constantly being on drugs, and your clearly ill self (as in, if you try to invalidate me by accusation of being on drugs, and devalue anything I may have said, by it, I'll say you're invalid for being mentally dysfunctional, and on drugs). It was playing along, and being fair, giving you the truth. I doubt most people are truly "healthy" 100 percent when we get down to it, though. But maybe that's a matter of perspective/perception.

Perhaps the reason you don't understand me is that you don't want to. Maybe you just can't. I don't know. You say I am ignorant on things. Like what? That I don't think Islam or Islamic peoples are good to be in Western society, currently? That I don't believe in the inherent, absolute equality of families, and people(s)?

If I must "mix with other cultures", I'm going over to an Iranian's house in a few minutes. But, she is Christian, anyways. And I live around a high population of Mexicans, and other Central, and South Americans. Here, I have no problem with them. But I wouldn't want them crowding into Europe, the homeland of my people, like the Asian and African world is. I care about my people or those closest, most. If I extend my idea family to other branches, indiscriminately, letting them take up residence and have a controlling majority in my home, I might as well become a vegetarian and run naked into the woods and feed the bears, or jump into a shark-pit.

Yes, your grammar sucks, and so does your grasp of reality.

Syrian Kurds Seize from Islamic State a Third of Villages Around Kobane

Anyway back on topic

Syrian Kurdish forces have recaptured more than a third of the villages around Kobane from the Islamic State group since routing the jihadists from the town a fortnight ago, a monitor said today.

"The (Kurdish) People's Protection Units (YPG) have recaptured 128 villages out of some 350 in the past two weeks," said Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman.

The YPG recaptured Kobane on the border with Turkey from IS jihadists on January 26, after four months of fierce fighting backed by Syrian rebels and US-led coalition air strikes.

"The IS withdrew from villages east and south of Kobane mostly without resistance, but fought hard to try to keep control of villages to the west," said Mr Abdel Rahman

The rest can be found here at NDTV

It really does seem that ISIS is n their last leg. They are being pushed back by the Kurds and US air strikes and i really can't see them gaining anymore ground the way things are. Hopefully they will be driven back to Saudi Arabia out of it where they belong

You don't understand the quote, Milosevic is referring to Muhajaden that flocked to Bosnia from the Middle-East during the war. Many of them were given Bosnian citizenship following the war and remained. Much of the fighters had links to Al-Qaeda and other terrorists organizations.

Are you claiming that the six Bosnians arrested in the US are all naturalized Middle Easterners?

Slobo must have been a very busy man, personally murdering a head of state, committing genocide, torturing people, and attacking civilians! Or do you mean the Serbian Army was doing these some of these things and there was no proof of him having ordered it or knowledge of it.

Yeah!

I mean Hitler was fighting two wars on two fronts during the holocaust. There's no way he could have ordered such a thing, or had even known about it. Who is the highest commander of the Serbian army btw?

It's like if a few rogue Marines start killing civilians Obama being brought to trial at the Hague.

Because this is exactly the same thing. If Obama ordered mass executions, deportations, and ethnic cleansing inside the US this would be remotely relevant.

What you're talking about has already happened. And happened under Bush as well. The numbers weren't into the hundreds of thousands, however.

The blame falls on the head of state and as Milosevic was head of state at the time he was responsible for it. Claiming not to know about the atrocities committed during the Yugoslav wars would be like Hitler saying he didn't know about every concentration camp set up by the Nazis and their supporters. Ultimately the blame would have fallen on him. Granted as Hitler probably would have been paraded around in a bird cage so that everyone could mock him and throw things at him if he had been captured i seriously doubt that was what was on his mind right before the coward blew his brains out when the Soviets where closing in.

You can't really compare any of these examples of Obama giving orders to kill "terrorists" and even if you did you would have to bring Bush Jr and just about every President since Carter under indictment as well. Sadly we can't dig up Reagan and put that cunt on trial because if he hadn't of been dumb enough to fund to Mujahideen against the Soviets there would be no Taliban today. Or atleast they certainly wouldn't be around in the numbers that they are.

lol you guys kill me with all your polarized views. Being far left is no better than being far right; in the end logic and reason typically prevails.

Actually Marxists believe in dealing with the material circumstances they have thus by nature are pragmatic. Although we know that the economic conditions that exist in the world today are the most favorable for Socialism and eventually Communism right now people haven't the will to change as like with all things it often takes a big event to mobilize the masses. Thus the working class must want a drastic change before there is one but right now there are too many issues of identity politics dividing the working class.

where has communism actually worked though? I get the whole system is fucked thing but the USSR never seemed like a place I would want to live and dont get me wrong I love Cuba but even Cubans dont really want to live there

The reason it never worked in the USSR or Cuba is because in order for wealth to be redistributed it must first be created. These countries where poverty ridden and still in a semi feudal economy thus they had never had the time to build a advanced Capitalist country or a health Liberal Bourgeois class to rule it. You can't very well divide wealth if there isn't any now can you? If the Spartacus uprising had succeeded in Germany in 1919 i think Socialism and the 20th century in general would have looked very very different. Germany unlike say Russia, Cuba or China had a advanced Capitalist economy which is essential for a transition into Socialism and eventually Communism.

We have had what Marx would have called primitive Communist societies. The earliest i can think of in North America or anywhere else being the society of Masterless Men which happened right in my backyard basically. Then you have Revolutionary Catalonia and also the EZLN in Mexico. Though i would argue the latter to be more of a National Liberation group. But no we have not had a Communist society (the term Communist country is a oxymoron as in Communism the state has been abolished) in Marxist terms.

The short answer is the revolutions happened in all the wrong places. Lenin himself admitted at one point that Russia was indeed a poor place for a revolution.

Well Central America had revolutions throughout the 80/90s and not much has improved there as a result, also Russia (pre communism) had about as much wealth to be redistributed as any other world powers at the time and again failed horribly. China hasnt really operated as much of a communist state as far as their economy is concerned and this doesnt mention the untold number of revolutionary actions taken across South America. Goegraphically this encompasses a pretty large swathe of places available for communism to flourish and yet....meanwhile the 'west' where most of modern wealth has been created doesnt seem too interested in adopting any further socialist policies (with the exception of a few) which leads me to believe the experiment failed.

Im all for redistributing some wealth but I dont think stripping the 1%s is the answer, maybe forgiving some of the LDCs debt would be a decent place to start
