^ yep. president trump completely fumbled this one and now the senate republicans are in a difficult position, the republican candidates in georgia are in a difficult position and he threw mnuchin under the bus to try to make himself look like the savior.

The government wants you dependent on them for income. The more they control, the less freedoms you have. Causality of big government. Time to drain the swamp.
 
Well the $2,000 stimulus check was shut down by Mitch Mcconnell. At least we are all getting $600. Which is better then nothing. I was raised in a republican home, and have grown to hate republicans over the years. I am excited that the democrats were pro 2k, and with Biden in the house now, I am sure that there is a possibility that we might see a even bigger check in the coming months.
 
Normally I'd say there was a 0% chance of the $2000 happening, but with the two Georgia Republican candidates in support of the $2000 stimulus checks, I wouldn't count the possibility of them dead quite yet. It's a very interesting dynamic, and a vote could still potentially happen, but time will tell.
 
McConnell tied the $2,000 stimulus checks to full repeal of Section 230, so that's almost certainly dead now. Well played by McConnell, or was this the plan from the very beginning? With the way this is playing out, I suspect the latter.

And, the Treasury Department said stimulus checks could start hitting bank accounts by tonight. So, for anyone expecting a $600 stimulus check on the lower end of the income spectrum with a bank that doesn't hold direct deposits, you might be seeing it very soon!
