Regarding blocked sinuses and diving: there is a small airway between your eardrum (or thereabouts) and your nasal passages. This allows the pressure on your eardrums to equalize. If you have nasal congestion and dive, you risk barotrauma to the middle or inner ear. Thus, divers need to clear up any congestion before diving.
I might be a little off on my physiology of the ear, but for the most part that is correct. You may also risk damage to your sinuses.
That's interesting that a lot of QLD labs are using phenylacetone... that sounds familiar as well, I think I may have read that in an article a BL'er forwarded me once. I wonder if they just have a good source for P2P or if they are using some interesting methods to get to it?
