xenophobic...LOL. Maybe look up the definition of that word again.

I know what xenophobic means (perhaps you need to look it up?) and there's been a fair amount of typical American arrogance & xenophobia in this forum, including saying New Zealanders are stupid and our country is an irrelevant island and, more recently, describing "foreigners" as politically ignorant.

Are quotes now updating to reflect the originals?

Quotes don't update. I didn't change what I wrote. I added a sentence to the end.

I'm not 100% sure what happened. But now that I know your original post didn't have any of that stuff, it seems very likely to me that that's what I saw when I replied to it. It's far more consistent with my recollection of what I read.

Your recollection is wrong. Quotes don't update. My original post did have that stuff. You skimmed it. It's not the end of the world.

ALSO JUST BECAUSE YOUR NOT SAYING BIDEN DIDN'T WIN DOESN'T MEAN YOUR NOT ALSO NOT SAYING HE WON NOT FRAUDULENTLY!

I was very clear throughout our discussion that the fraud was not widespread enough to change the election.

Uhh no it didn't. I can see what your original post looked like (I dunno if this is a mod only ability but I think it is, forgive me for using it to defend my sanity. :()

And originally your post had only a single sentence with none of the stuff I somehow supposedly missed.
I can't see if you changed it before or after my post, both say 27 minutes ago at time of writing. It just seems more likely that it wasn't there as I remember than that it was and I skimmed it is all.

You're right though it doesn't really matter and we should return to bitching about trump. :D

Maybe I edited it twice and originally it was one sentence. I can't remember... but you obviously quoted it after the first edit otherwise the text you quoted would be one sentence... quotes don't update when you edit something. What you quoted was what you quoted. None of this matters anyway, because I was very clear throughout our discussion yesterday. What I said wasn't ambiguous. You just weren't listening.

Did anyone see Giuliani’s press conference today? Judging by the pictures I’m seeing of him, it was everything I expected it to be lol.

Yes you did. At the very least I can promise you the system shows 2 edits. And in the original post it was only a single sentence.

You're right though quotes don't update. It's just that I posted within the same minute you edited it so it strikes me as more likely that the page refreshed and I didn't see the update when I replied than that I was too blind to see 80% of your post when I read it.

As for yesterday, I was actually half asleep for most of yesterday's post spree so yeah I can totally believe me misreading stuff you said then. :D

What about the reports of him in court and the judge asking him what kind of legal scrutiny they should use and all Giuliani has to say is "uhh, the normal one?"

I found that a hilarious indictment of how bad this legal action is going.

Assuming he ever knew apparently lawyering isn't like riding a bike.

It's just a mere coincidence that, so far as I can tell anyway, mail in or absentee ballots favor Biden overwhelmingly in every case. Right there should be indicative of something that's amiss wouldn't you say? Or is it just simply that the Democrats don't own cars or cannot get their backsides down to a voting station?

that's a rather simplistic, not to mention erroneous, analysis but part of me suspects you know that.

it's hard to imagine how anybody is surprised that states like WI and PA flipped late for biden as the concept was discussed at length across many sources prior to the election. here are a couple of examples:

Exclusive: Dem group warns of apparent Trump Election Day landslide

"A top Democratic data and analytics firm told "Axios on HBO" it's highly likely that President Trump will appear to have won — potentially in a landslide — on election night, even if he ultimately loses when all the votes are counted.

Why this matters: Way more Democrats will vote by mail than Republicans, due to fears of the coronavirus, and it will take days if not weeks to tally these. This means Trump, thanks to Republicans doing almost all of their voting in person, could hold big electoral college and popular vote leads on election night.

  • Imagine America, with its polarization and misinformation, if the vote tally swings wildly toward Joe Biden and Trump loses days later as the mail ballots are counted.
  • That is what this group, Hawkfish, which is funded by Michael Bloomberg and also does work for the Democratic National Committee and pro-Biden Super PACs, is warning is a very real, if not foreordained, outcome."
they totally called it on september 1st 2020.

Explainer: Red mirage, blue mirage - Beware of early U.S. election wins

"Imagine that the polls have closed in Florida, counties are beginning to report early vote counts, and it looks like former Vice President Joe Biden is way ahead. An hour later, Pennsylvania counties begin to report and it seems to be a slam dunk for U.S. President Donald Trump.

Don’t be fooled, voting experts and academics say. Early vote counts in the most competitive, battleground states can be particularly misleading this election because of the surge in mail-in or absentee ballots, and the different ways that they are processed.

The states that count mail-in votes before Election Day are likely to give Biden an early lead, since opinion polls and early voting data suggest those ballots favor the Democrat. Conversely, the states that do not tally mail-in votes until Nov. 3 will likely swing initially for Trump.
...
In Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, mail-in ballots cannot be counted until Election Day. While Michigan did recently pass a law that allows many cities to start processing mail-in ballots, such as opening ballot envelopes, the day before the election, they cannot begin to count votes.

Because mail-in ballots typically take longer to count than ballots cast in person, the initial results could skew Republican. Then, some experts say, expect a “blue shift” as election officials wade through the piles of mail-in ballots.

Pennsylvania and Wisconsin may be slowed by their lack of experience with high volumes of mail-in ballots. About one in 20 votes in the two states were cast by mail in the 2018 congressional election, compared to a quarter of Michigan’s votes and about a third of Florida’s.

Pennsylvania’s vote counting could go on for days. Democrats in the state recently won a victory in the U.S. Supreme Court to allow officials to accept mail-in ballots up to three days after the election as long as they are postmarked by Nov. 3.

this piece was dated november 1st 2020

they predicted exactly what is happening.

i just watched excerpts from the giuliani press conference. he's totally unhinged. rumors are president trump is paying him $20k per day? i can't help thinking he could do a lot better for a lot less :)

Yeah it's so frustrating having to see trump set up exactly what's been happening for months and for so many trump fans to perfectly comply with it and act like the rest of us didn't all know it was coming.

You gotta hand it to him. He's been priming his base for this fraud nonsense for months.

Deliberately trying to sabotage things so the results are slow to appear so he can accuse them of vote dumps.

This is why reporters kept asking him if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power, if he would contest the election.

Exactly, which is why it's hard to see how anyone couldn't have foreseen Trump's strategy here as anything other than what it has been. It seems relatively transparent to me, anyways.

fraud nonsense
Why is Russians definitely stealing the election from Trump so believable..
but fraud in this election is nonsense?
You realize that there is proven evidence of fraud - the question is whether it's widespread or not.

Hard evidence of widespread voter irregularity:

Some copy and pasted text is not proof. Anyone can say anything they want, and a lot of people repeat what other people say. Maybe you have the sources to back that text up, but if so, you didn't provide them here, so why should I consider that to be proof of anything?

I included a link which leads to Former Data Chief and Strategist for Trump for President.
'

You can choose to believe the sources who are straight lying to you and telling you Joe Biden is already president-elect, and that there's no evidence of widespread voter fraud, or you can objectively assess the substantial amount of fraud that is being uncovered.

any more lies you want to vomit out before you're finished?

I didn't notice it, I see it now. I see a Twitter feed with a bunch of Trump fans reposting quotes and talking about how the election is rigged, the original post just contains the text you've pasted in. By source, I mean like, the original source.

yet another trump campaign lawsuit dismissed, this one in georgia: Federal judge dismisses Trump campaign lawsuit seeking to halt Georgia election certification

"It is well established that garden-variety election disputes do not rise to the level of a constitutional deprivation...
...
The fact that his candidate didn’t win doesn’t rise to the level of harm.
" (judge steven grimberg - appointed by president trump in 2019)

i think that makes it over 30 suits filed by the trump campaign that have been dismissed now. if he was a baseball player he'd be batting about .100 :)

New Zealands awesome! It's like a more awesome australia.

That said though, you are irrelevant and your accents suck. :)

But hey, most Americans are too stupid to realize they even have an accent

No countries perfect. :)

You realize that there is proven evidence of fraud - the question is whether it's widespread or not.

I've said from the beginning that the Russia stuff they tried to pin on Trump was being overblown. It was a huge mistake for Dems to spend so much time on it. Did the Trump team have some communications with people that crossed the line? Probably. They were political novices and probably let it go too far. But the idea that Putin was pulling Trumps strings or whatever, or that or country was in danger because of it... nonsense.

Proven evidence of fraud? Sure. If the loser candidate every year spent as much time and money looking for it as Trump has, it would be there every time. It just happens. It's a country of 300 million people.

You're right... the question IS "is it widespread?" All the facts and all the experts say no.

We aren't irrelevant. We made the Lord of the Rings trilogy... and, um, Flight of the Conchords... and... and... um... we were the first country in the world to give women the right to vote (I probably should have thought of that before Flight of the Conchords).

Plus we have sheep. Like, lots and lots of sheep.
