I'm 9 weeks sober. No alcohol, no drugs. Haven't even had a single painkiller since I quit, despite my back going out and having a migraine that lasted 3 days... and you have to taunt me with methadone!

Shame on you. ;)

This is what happens. That's how they operate. They coax you in. You think it's by accident that "Sleepy Joe" is the candidate? A sweet old man like that? Reminding you of your grandfather? Never be capable of pulling this off. Meanwhile and back at the ranch...

@birdup.snaildown:

You do of course realize that you're only a hop, skip, and jump away from @JessFR (about 1 700km coast to coast). Maybe you can visit and chat about this over a drink or six or whatever. I'd love to be a fly on that wall (or restaurant table)! :ROFLMAO: Word of advice (based on experience of course): make sure it's not a place you'd like to go back to again because the food was good (people used to joke about me in saying I can only ever go to a place once).

Come to think of it: dunno why she's giving me shit re: the subject matter. Probably sipping cocktails overlooking Bondi Beach or something like that and without a care in the world. Which brings me to a point also now come to think of it: how many ballot papers were YOU sent in the mail? :ROFLMAO:

It's just a mere coincidence that, so far as I can tell anyway, mail in or absentee ballots favor Biden overwhelmingly in every case.

No offense, but the fact that you have no idea what the explanation for this is disqualifies you from any intelligent conversation on this subject. I mean seriously. This is why you guys keep talking to yourselves and aren't generating any interest from others. Because you are two foreigners who at the end of the day aren't educated on the ins and outs of what has transpired here over the past few years.

You are Trump fans who are treating this like a game. It probably does feel like recess to those like bird up who is lucky enough to live in a nation with an enlightened leader and progressive government. I don't know what your excuse is, dalpat, other than you seem to enjoy being a contrarian.

TLB, nutty, and others who actually live here have been fairly quiet because they actually live here and can see the writing on the wall. NONE of us here love Joe Biden's policies...but he IS the President-Elect according to our democratic process. He won by the same "landslide" electoral margin that Trump did in 2016 AND he won the popular votes by over 5 million.

These theatrics are just pretense for congressional Republicans to obstruct Biden's agenda for another four years. They're going to claim he has no "mandate" or worse that he is illegitimate, just like they tried with Obama. It's disgusting. And it our country ever does fail it will be because of them.

Congrats man, great job. :) I've quit opiates a bunch of times, most recently last week. So much bullshit over the past few years (not politics-related) made me relapse 3 times after 5 years without opiates (not sober but no opiates which for me are the devil). Feeling a little shivery and eyes are watering today but I'm past the bad parts. I did a 30-day sober retreat with my friend in August, and then relapsed the day I got back because my cat died the day I got back and my brain's first reaction to extreme negative emotions is to medicate with opiates. And I've been on and off so many times that kindling makes me get withdrawals after a single time.

In some areas there was mandatory mail-in voting because no voting locations were open, like where my mom lives in San Diego

A) I'm more educated on US politics than most Americans.

2) I have consistently disagreed with @dalpat077 about the extent of fraud in the US election. Clearly Biden won. I've literally never said otherwise.

c) Nearly half of the people who voted in the US agree with me about Trump vs Biden, so I don't see how my opinions can be written off as me being a "foreigner". I can't speak for @dalpat077 or @JessFR since our opinions often differ greatly when it comes to US politics... but I don't see what the problem is with posting my opinions on here. I'm just having a bit of fun. If I'm breaking any rules, admin can let me know. Until then, you're going to have to just deal with the fact that "foreigners" have opinions too.

IV) A lot of you anti-Trump guys don't even post opinionated comments most of the time. From what I see, it's mostly bad jokes and divisive comments about how stupid republicans are.

The Wizard of the Creek said:
Fuck Republicans.

E) And then you pretend to care about how divided your country is... I'm sorry to hear about your financial issues. For the record, I don't agree with all republican policies and (from what I know) you were better off under Trump than Bill Clinton, right? So I'm not sure issues with support payments can be entirely blamed on republicans. I am lucky to live in New Zealand, but again that isn't because we have a left-wing prime minister at the moment. People in this country (and many countries around the world) receive higher levels of support (regardless of who is in power) than you guys do in the US. Republican politicians aren't the reason for this. Obama was the first democratic president to make significant changes. Prior to his run, democrats and republicans haven't really been chalk and cheese. All of your politicians are conservative relative to the rest of the free world. Your problems run deeper than the republican party. Perhaps it's easier to have a scapegoat to distract yourself from the fact that your country is generally kind of fucked in that department and always has been? I dunno. I don't mean any offense.

Republicans here beat the needy down to increase there personal wealth.

6) The welfare system has ensured that there are more people in your country under the poverty line than any republican policy ever enacted.

Congrats though.

g) Thanks, guys. :)

VIII) Maybe people here could skip the typical American xenophobic "you don't understand because you're a foreigner" comments... and the republican insults, in the future? Probably wishful thinking. Just remember, democrats don't own this forum. Last time I heard @TheLoveBandit was a Trump supporter.

plenty of people post plenty of posts in here about why they think trump is a bad president.

in another thread, somebody claimed that maybe people hate president trump because they see something in themselves in him...

my response:

sure. that is possible.

or maybe they hate him because of the obama birther b.s.

or maybe they hate him because of the way he's publicly disrespected and denigrated various military personnel after avoiding service himself with a 'bone spur'

or maybe they hate him because of his numerous insulting comments about women

or maybe they hate him because of his racist comments about judge curiel

or maybe they hate him because of his comments bragging about sexual assault in the hollywood access tape

or maybe they hate him because of his comments about the central park five

or maybe they hate him because of the trump university fraud

or maybe they hate him because of his baseless, debunked claims about 2016 election fraud

or maybe they hate him because of the way he funnels taxpayer money into his private businesses

or maybe they hate him because he frequently criticized obama for golfing and he golfs more often

or maybe they hate him because he frequently criticized obama for using too much taxpayer money traveling and he's used much, much more

or maybe they hate him because he frequently criticized obama for using executive orders (which he described as "power grabs") and he's outpacing obama on his own use of eo's

or maybe they hate him because of his pathetic, childish response to the issue of the crowd size at his inauguration

or maybe they hate him because he won't release his tax returns - what is he hiding?

or maybe they hate him because of his comments about nfl players protesting

or maybe they hate him because of his twitter obsession

or maybe they hate him because he abandoned kurdish allies

or maybe they hate him because he praised a congressman who physically assaulted a reporter

or maybe they hate him because of his completely bungled response to the coronavirus

or maybe they hate him because he valued an arm sale over doing what's right in the aftermath of the murder of a journalist

or maybe they hate him because covfefe

or maybe they hate him because he thinks some neo-nazi white supremacists are fine people and, given a chance to clearly and unequivocally denounce racism he couldn't do it

or maybe they hate him because he paid a porn star hush money after an affair

or maybe they hate him because his administration's separation of children and families at the southern border

i don't know. i mean those are just off the top of my head...

up for debate? sure. unfounded? nope.

his two core election promises were:
  • to build a wall on the southern border and make mexico pay for it. nope.
  • to immediately repeal and replace obamacare with something much better. nope.
alasdair

Just a quick comment about this. One reason it might be a little unclear is that it's possible to believe Biden won... But because of fraud. Trump had a whole media crapathon the other day because of a misunderstanding over that.

And since you have made comments that cast doubt on the integrity of the election, that may well be why some people including myself may have just assumed you meant he won in that context. As on won, via fraud, rather than won, cause he won.

I constantly clarified my position with you throughout our discussion, but you kept assuming that's what I meant anyway. Up until very recently, I've said there was no evidence of fraud. Now that there is evidence of fraud, I haven't changed my opinion about Biden winning the election. I don't believe he won because of fraud. I believe he won fair and square and I also believe there was fraud. Not sure why that's so difficult to understand. I think perhaps the problem is Americans tend to see things in black and white, because of how divided your country is.

That is what I was thinking too, neither Jess, dalpat, or birdup live in this great US of A. I live in Ohio and worked for my county’s Democratic Party this election cycle. Even though I live in a ruby red county, I have to fight against the Republicans. Those assholes actively disenfranchise poor people like me that rely on social safety nets like: food assistance, Medicare/Medicaid and disability insurance etc.

I fucking hate that Ohio has gone from a purple state to a solid red state. We only have one Democratic senator, Sherrod Brown. The rest of Ohio government and the majority of our federal representatives are Republican controlled. At the state and federal level, these assholes have taken away food from my family’s mouths and canceled my Medicaid insurance. I am federally disabled and only have access to Medicare now (in which I have to pay for 20% of all medical care). That just recently got worse with all of the cuts to entitlements from Jobs and Family Services. Ohio gutted JFS recently and a lot of the times we rely on food pantry charity.

Republicans here beat the needy down to increase there personal wealth. The class divide is only getting larger when they make the poor poorer and the rich richer. This makes it impossible to get out of poverty when you have to fight for every meal or go hungry. Everything from section 8 housing to community behavioral health centers are completely gutted, to the effect that they are in nonexistence.

It seems like you (non-Americans) don’t understand how important it is to elect people that work for your best interests. Unfortunately, the many poor people here are voting against their best interest because their mega churches tell them to. BTW those fucking mega churches teach that people with Tourette’s or schizophrenia are possessed by the Devil.

Fuck Republicans.

Just for the record, I'm an American citizen and I refuse to stop talking about American politics. I don't care if I live on fkin Mars.

Ehh, you kinda just said you agreed Biden won. Which, again can be interpreted too ways.

So just to clarify here. Do you think Biden is legitimately elected president elect and that any fraud or incompetence that exists is below the threshold at which it would make any difference?

Sorry yeah my bad I must have skimmed what you wrote. :(

EDIT: waaait... It says you edited your post to add that stuff... And it said you did it after I posted....

Are quotes now updating to reflect the originals?

I'm not suggesting that it will change the election, but (if it is true) isn't it the highest level of voter fraud a US election has ever seen?

I don't expect the results of the election to change. Like I said, Kanye is as likely to win as Trump...

You skimmed the entire conversation yesterday, apparently. :)

xenophobic...LOL. Maybe look up the definition of that word again. Not even going to address the last couple of sentences.

I'm not 100% sure what happened. But now that I know your original post didn't have any of that stuff, it seems very likely to me that that's what I saw when I replied to it. It's far more consistent with my recollection of what I read.

ALSO JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT SAYING BIDEN DIDN'T WIN DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOT ALSO NOT SAYING HE WON NOT FRAUDULENTLY!

:D
