Just because you can
doesnt mean you should
Biden won't do shit for the people, for the poor, for the disenfranchised. We won't see universal healthcare, or free education. We will still be in a police state with authoritarian laws and corrupt and abusive institutions. We will still have a constitution that specifically legalized slavery of a certain portion of the population. We will still have babies starving to death, we will still have people sleeping under bridges next to empty homes. We will still have an ongoing drug war. we will still have covert ops ruining lives. Our foreign policy will still be dangerous and shifty and shitty. But he at least isn't endorsing actual self proclaimed fascists and making totally illegal moves. Trump has been grooming the nation for more authoritarian, unaccountable, out of control government.

Anyway, I voted for biden, just in case, but its not like our vote even matters. The electoral collage is going to vote for whoever they decided to or got bribed by weeks ago.

This is turning ugly and the markets don't like it, no chance of another Covid relief bill as long as trumpee creates election chaos, either. Too bad.

Does anyone have a source on what the popular vote is at?

I think biden is winning at the moment. First of all, why do we even need to have executive power position and feel the need to have an alpha male in charge of everything? So... primate behavior. Many during the formation of the union were against the idea. Why not a transparent board of all parties with equal representation, or even direct democrafy. Its all a mockery, and its getting worse every time. I am probably paranoid, though it seems less as time goes on, but I forsee martial law either way, or at least some chaos in the cities.

its like which rapist do you want? The one who wants to turn the evolution clock back 50 years, and wants to act like a dictator, or the dumb sleepy Joe who will say he's on your side but never accomplish anything (even if he wanted to hed be blocked by the Republicans in the house and senate)

I get it now. How so many trump voters could be so positive that trump would win.

They knew the actual outcome of the election was completely irrelevant as far as their determination of who won. Trump was always the winner. The election was just to decide if democrats cheated or not. :P

How likely do you think it is that he has to be dragged out of the Whitehouse by the military.

That would be funny. What I see is the media is all going to report biden won, everyone will celebrate, and over the next few months trump will undermine it and steal the presidency, which will lead to the worst riots we've seen in recent history, then martial law, and yeah...

indefinitely control?

clinton took california in 2016 but president trump is in the white house...

I'm from NZ, so I'm not as familiar with US electoral process as some of you American guys (but apparently more familiar than others). Indefinitely control is an exaggeration. Clinton may have taken California in 2016 but lost the presidency... But the EC existed at the time. If the EC didn't exist, she would have won.

I probably didn't word it very well. What I meant was the popular vote in California would be over 12% of the countries vote and the state population is rapidly growing. Whether or not this was the original intention of the colleges, the EC ensures smaller states get more of a voice.

There is already a feeling among small red states that the left is rapidly gaining control of the country and the MSM. Doing away with the EC would likely increase these feelings and lead to more division in an already severely divided country.

I hope that clears some things up. This discussion has already gone on longer than I have time to devote to it and on top of that I received an abusive PM. So, I'm not going to continue responding at length. I've said all I have to say, pretty much, but I'm genuinely curious if I've missed anything. A bunch of people in this thread keep saying I don't understand but make no effort to explain to me what it is I don't get.

Not very. For one it would probably the job of secret service. But aside from that.

Trump trying to hold on to the job by force would be an extreme gamble that he would almost certainly lose.

He can always leave and run again in 4 years since his term limits not yet expired, but if he makes a major scene and has to be removed by force that could seriously complicate a reelection attempt.

Trump's no political genius, but he's not that stupid either.

I expect he will fight in the courts, and assuming he loses, which I would rank as likely. He will bitch and moan but like a good toddler ultimately he will do as he's told and just sulk that life's not fair rather than having to be dragged off kicking and screaming.

I’d actually like to see that, it would perfectly encapsulate and wrap up his entire presidency that wreaked havoc on us for too long.

God. Seeing trump being dragged out while kicking his feet would be amazing.

Reminds me of a time late 2019 we were copping dope. Dude said they were 20's and we asked to try it. He asked one of the local hypes to break out his bag to let us try. He said no. Like 10 guys jumped him and then started to drag him across the street into the alley and all you saw were his legging kicking LOL.

Proof on the street clucks are at the bottom. As I would like to see trump.

Are you sure he can run again? I heard he can't, that the second term must be consecutive
