i think jake tapper described it best: a "hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a train wreck"

it was a disgraceful display by a president of the united states.

and president trump was handed another opportunity to clearly and unequivocally disavow white supremacists and he chose not to, telling them instead to "stand back and stand by". i didn't think he could go much lower. but, with this, he did.

Trumps not gonna disavow people who will obviously vote for him. He needs every vote he can get.

What we need for the next debate is for the moderator to have the ability to mute trumps mic. :P

It was definitely 99% Trump, I just wish I could have been impressed by Biden. He certainly handled himself pretty well considering. I probably would have lost my shit at some point and told Trump to shut the fuck up and wait your turn to talk.
Biden? He has always been a joke since the early 1970s. He is immensely disliked in DE, PA, NJ, NY, and MD. Everyone knows he has always been and still is super corrupt with shell companies in former Soviet countries, and he and his crackhead son as well as the other son he cannot stop talking about fucked over people in the USA.

Biden also supports illegal wars/invasions such as Libya, Syria, Honduras, and also supports anarchy, rioting, stealing, and the racist hate group black lives matter.

President Trump has disavowed racism and hate groups many times.

Meanwhile Biden has always been racist and still is.

When's the next debate? Super cool fun, wanna see Ms. Harris and Mr. Pence jawbone, and see what our dear leaders have to say about foreign policy, there's a lot going on right now yes?

on president trump's refusal to condemn white supremacists, even fox & friends gets it...

brian kilmeade - one of the show's hosts - said: "Donald Trump ruined the biggest layup in the history of debates by not condemning white supremacists...I don’t know if he didn’t hear it, but he’s gotta clarify that right away. That’s like, ‘Are you against evil?’ Why the president didn’t just knock it out of the park, I’m not sure."

why indeed?

Not sure? Isn't it obvious?

There's nothing to gain. It doesn't help trump to potentially alienate people who will vote for him, so it's only worth it if there are people who might vote for him if only he'd condemn white supremacists. And trump probably figures (most likely correctly) that there aren't.

From trumps standpoint it makes a lot of sense to kinda hint that he condemns it, but at no point actually condemn it. That way the people who wanna vote for him anyway can twist that however they like to justify it.

yeah, and the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates just announce there would be "additional structure" to help ensure everything stays on track.

Like a mute button?

I miss the good old days when presidents just had the self control or respect for the voter to shut it.

This guy is not going to step down.

Trump - "We have no tolerance for law breakers!!!!"
Trump - "Unless its me!!!!" I will not step down. Im also a tax fraud
Trump - "Jump off boys (whatever their name is.)...stand by!!!"

Well Trump did say both Proud Boys and Antifa are militias (see Bill of Rights)? Or I misheard?

Remember folks, I'm retired, no militiaing for me, I want watch the debates and cheer.

Dear god, there are going to be 2 more?

There are always three plus the VP debate. Last night was a tie neither of them gained anything. People keep saying Trump wouldn't allow Biden to speak but I looked at the times and Trump only spoke 2 more minutes than Biden. He got the 2 extra minutes somewhere in the middle to respond to something Biden said. Biden was doing his share of interruptions.

The debates don't really matter. With the mass mail-in voting neither side is going to accept the results.
