The Dive's Covid Thread

As if it were not bad enough that the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID are all causing a surge in illness right now, it turns out that it is possible to get all three of these sicknesses at once.

Experts say the winter flu season started early this year, even compared to pre-pandemic years. This is occurring alongside a spike in RSV — especially among children — and the ongoing COVID cases.

“We are certainly starting to see patients getting one or all three at the same time,” said Dr. Edward Leonard, an infectious disease specialist at Overlake Medical Center.

If you are one of the unlucky people to get the triple threat of viruses, Leonard said in general, as with the pandemic, how severe your symptoms are will largely depend on how healthy you were.

Hahaha.

Ridiculous. They just keep pulling more and more bullshit out of the magic hat to frighten people, which of course results in people making themselves vulnerable to illness by stressing out about it all.

Modern doctors are a parody of medieval priests at this point.

I might think it was funny, if my entire family wasn't all on board. I am pretty sure I'm going to sell my ticket to "Christmas Jam", which is an event I have always gone to, with a particularly great lineup this year, because I happened to mention it to my family and they were like oh my GOD how could you be so irresponsible?? 8000 people in an enclosed space?? If you go to that and get covid, you won't be able to come visit! There's a new baby!"

So I get the new baby... I wouldn't want to get the new baby sick. And the timing is whack, just before I'm leaving to go visit. I will be bummed to miss it, but seeing my family is more important. But it just feels like this is just going to keep happening every year.

My girlfriend wasn't going to stop me, though she asked if I could stay somewhere else for a few days if I went, until I could be sure I wasn't going to give her something. And I get her fear, as she has some immune system issues and an autoimmune condition. But my family are all perfectly healthy. My sister and her husband are ultra liberals who literally didn't leave their house once during 2020 (they even got groceries delivered and wore masks to go for short walks outside). Can't even talk to them about it unless it's to agree with how horrible everyone is who doesn't mask and get every booster. I love my family, and my sister, but it's definitely something I try to avoid discussing too much.

You should still feel good about being in a clear minority of people who went from "no reason not to get it" to questioning it and understanding that there are risks and it is also a money grab. A lot of people can't make moves like that

Just sad…that poor girl would probably be alive had she not been vaxed, and she is far from the only case like this there are literally hundreds of not thousands possibly tens of thousands…and unfortunately most people will deny it’s the vax unless it reaches out and touches them personally, but even still Iv seen people deny the possibility it’s from the vax

the pandemic has been like the trolley problem on a societal scale.

i'm still of the same opinion as i was before the pandemic - do nothing. doing something and being an active participant, in my view, makes a person culpable for the consequences because they are the ones that made the choice.

if our esteemed officials were private citizens, they would have been sued to oblivion already.

Dude. Just fucking go and then lie to them with delight. Who cares. If they want to act like stupid little children then they deserve to be treated as such until they snap out of their horseshit delusions. The irony is that if people continue this frightened, fragmented 'life' then both our physical condition and mental condition will deteriorate making illness more likely!

If the baby gets ill after having several dozen injections then those injections weren't worth shit in the first place. The little squirt will thank you for it some day for exposing him to 'germs' - I literally go several years without so much as a sniffle, which I put down to my mum not giving me medication for anything, not cleaning down everything all the god damn time, etc, etc. Of course this ignores what we've known since April 2020, that covid is only a threat to those who are at deaths door anyway (80+, Michelin men fatbodies, etc)..

Don't castrate yourself to indulge their delusions. If you can't deal with a potential loss of relationship with them by direct confrontation, then lie first.

the lockdown was a controlled destruction of the world we once knew to start the great reset

We live in a world of lies. Not a single person i Know got covid, but i know plently who have either died mysteriously after the 2nd shot of pzifer or perma damaged.
Man that story about the state denying that child getting a heart transplant unvaccinated blood is wild. The state now wants to take the kid.

I second this, I don’t think you have kids xork? But sometimes you have to lie to them because explaining something to complex for them to understand is a waist of time, so you make it simple for them
