That is actually quite alarming. Not gonna lie. I mean as you know, I got vaccinated and I also got a booster. But at this point I am fully intending on letting my immune system handle itself. I also got covid not long after getting my booster. It was super mild but clear to me that the vaccine isn't going to prevent me from getting omicron, or spreading it to others. I don't see the point in getting any more so I'm not going to. I saw the point with the original situation... it was working pretty well against the original virus. There wasn't the same thing happening as there is now, I wasn't seeing people getting sick anyway then. But now, you get sick anyway. So why keep getting more shots? It doesn't make sense. My immune system is fine, I had covid and fought it off twice, got pretty damn sick the first time, the second time was just like a cold. The next time, if there is one, I expect to be like a cold, too.

It is starting to look like a money grab, and I hate to say that, but it's pretty clear there is no longer a medical emergency happening. I always get a cold every year pretty much, and some of them are worse than omicron was. And they usually last longer, too. The original wave was pretty scary... I lost an aunt and cousin to it, my mom lost a friend. Vaccines made sense then, especially since they worked. Now it's evolved and it's not the same thing. What we wanted to happen after realizing we couldn't quarantine it out of existence, is exactly what has happened: it has mutated to a more transmissible but much less dangerous virus. This is a good thing, now its time to ride it out and welcome a new endemic disease.

Even with that being said, if the vaccines were preventing it, I'd still be for it. But it seems clear they're not. Though I will say that among my friends who are vaccinated vs unvaccinated, there doesn't seem to be a pattern to who is getting reinfected... friends from both groups are, and aren't.

Bad COVID symptoms for less than 24 hours. Symptoms were worse than the first round of COVID but after that 24 hour period, I've basically been fine.

I haven't had any vaccines for seven months, so there's nothing there. Pandemic / Plandemic is over. I don't know why I have to isolate. This is a cold.

Yep, totally agreed. The study that my girlfriend cites to me as her "proof" that 25% of all people who get covid get long covid is a shit study that asked a follow-up questionnaire after 1 month. If the person responded "yes" to any of the questions, they were considered to have long covid. But the questions were a joke. They included such gems as "I have been more tired than normal", "I have had a headache more than 3 days", "I have experienced brain fog". Like, come on. You're always more tired than normal after you get sick, that's normal. Or there are many other reasons one might be tired, like working too much, trouble sleeping, depression, etc. And some people get headaches a lot. And brain fog is super subjective and vague. It can easily be placebo... you're scared you're going to get long covid, so you manifest subtle symptoms like that. The study suggested that long covid can happen even with asymptomatic or very light covid. But yeah, if that's all it is, then who the fuck cares? I've had "long colds", in that case.

Even if covid is causing increased fatigue for a while afterwards, then is that something to focus your life around with fear? No.

Now, long covid IS real. CFC, whom some of you know, he's a former admin, had/had long covid. He had a very bad covid which almost sent him to the hospital and had him fearing for his life, and a pre-existing heart condition. Last I heard, it was 6 or 8 months after, and he had brain damage (involving word recall and memory issues, pretty severe), really bad fatigue, and I think some other symptoms. And I have heard of some other cases that are legitimate, but no one I know has gotten it. It seems to be exceedingly rare.

My girlfriend hasn't gotten covid yet, despite all the exposures... she has blood type O (whichever one it is that seems to give near-immunity to covid). I fear that if she gets it, she will convince herself she has long covid. She's depressed and experiences brain fog very often... she has a number of health problems, related to inflammation, which all ties back to her childhood PTSD. She will convince herself she's fucked, and make it so, I fear

Collecting people who are ill and amalgamating them under one statistical banner, as if you can treat the complexity of illness without any proper investigation! It's asinine to just look at the surface of something and make assumptions like that. People aren't all one single equivalent entity, we all come into the equation with different health status and biology. And there can be more than one cause, and even if there is one cause it can cause multiple reactions in people.
