does it really matter where all the confusion began
it has twisted and knotted me inside and out again
whence i fear that there is no way out of this
i turn to the devil living deep in the abyss
he quenches my thirst to free me from this hell
till the past is a faded memory, the present a dark cell
i wait inside this wretched room for anyone to set me free
but all the illusions and all my delusions are overcoming me
how did i lock myself into this place when i came in with the key
i guess he has destroyed my mind for i can no longer see
the door i came through, is standing open still
but still i wait, and contemplate if i have had my fill
time passed me slowly by and the haze begins to lift
why did i run back to him and his tantalizing gift
i know this time, my lessons i've learned, no more turning back
for if i do my future i'm sure will be dull, empty, and black
