i fucking hate lockdowns but i accept them in this case. i hate authoritatianism and have always voted for parties strongly against it.
governments with both authoritarian and liberal leanings have implemented lockdowns.
they had lockdowns for the black plague, this is how long this has been known to be effective against communicable disease. unfortunately they fucked it up on the black plague cos they didn't realise that rats were in fact the vector. they fucked it up doubly worse in london (iirc) by mistaking cats for the vector and killing them, thus removing a source of predation of the actual vector. anyway, that doesn't matter, the point is that the empirical evidence for lockdowns stretches back literally centuries. look at the death rates for spanish flu in cities that locked down vs those that didn't.
do you actually have an answer for @birdup on NSW or are you just going to try and waft it away with some veiled ad hominems about people in support of lockdowns when models favour their implementation to protect public safety.

I took a peep earlier and I didn't gasp I just acknowledged that it seems to be a place for people to come and congregate when I have truly lost their minds.
Not all I do not infer. But we have here one crazy deluded marketplace, on puppet strings.
It's a microcosm of society and all stemming from the same source. The toppling dominoes in the programmed, dominated consciousness of humanity are falling in full swing and order.

It's been 2 years and I still have not had covid. Despite doing very little to protect myself from it.
I've also never taken a flu vaccine in my entire life & have only had the flu once as a child. Funny how that works.
So if I can go 30+ years of not catching the flu, despite not getting vaccinated, I may never catch covid either.
You are living in fear, the fear that unsick people are going to make you sick. So much fear, in fact, that you wish death upon people who decline a shot (that doesn't stop you from transmitting covid anyway). That's how irrational fear makes people. Unless you have some other incentive to push it? If you're vaccinated, you're 'protected' right?
I've known people who allegedly had covid as well and were just fine. Including an obese 65 year old who had just had a heart attack (90% blockage) a month before. And this man is still here today and is fine.
I also know people in their 40's & 50's who mysteriously died of "strokes" and "heart attacks" within a week of getting their shot. I also know people who have been vaccinated & are fine. I also know people who were vaccinated but still caught covid anyway.
So what makes your "anecdotal evidence" better than mine?
I'm not wasting any more time on people who don't want their minds to be changed. The fact that you can still get & transmit covid even if you're vaccinated should be enough for people to accept others choices.
I'm just amazed that people who I would think would normally know all about gov & pharma corruption are eating this up so easily.
The same people who will lock you up for drug use are now telling us we are bad people if we don't take one of their drugs & people just nod in acceptance.
Thank god I questioned the narrative surrounding drugs & "did my own research", cause guess what!? They lie to you about drugs!!! Gee, who knew?!

The two aren't compatible. You don't lock down healthy people and deprive them of their rights. There is no justification for it what so ever. None. Shield those at risk, if they wish to be.
Health is a personal choice. There is no such thing as 'public health', that's about as real as a corporate entity. Individuals have their own health, there is no collective physical body and therefore it can not be used as justification for any government to start ruling by decree under emergency powers.
Lockdowns are a fucking abomination. They will inevitably end up causing more death than this fucking non-pandemic ever will.

I've lived for 56 years and have never caught malaria, despite doing very little to protect myself from it.
