Conspiracies The Covid Narrative

I haven't gotten it yet and after reading the last 3 pages of this thread I am more conflicted than ever. I respect a lot of opinions on here and many good points are made. I'm not anti-vax or into conspiracy theories I just quite frankly haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm going to have to read up on some of these scientific words that I have no idea what they mean and then make an informed choice I guess. Unlike TLB that took it to appease his family ( which I commend him for ) nobody cares whether I get it or not. I'm retired and don't travel so I won't need any documents for work or an airline.

I guess I need to do some more research. I didn't know how uneducated I was about it all until I read this thread.

I inquired about the vax but the liquor store clerk screamed at me for asking. This pandemic is really taking its toll on the mental health of people.

I know it’s a difficult choice to make and I know when you’re bombarded with info it can feel confusing.

The last 3 pages are pretty confusing I get that. It’s mostly us sciency types just arguing with each other and quoting studies.

I am a scientist, I got the vaccine as part of one of the original studies in Ireland and I’m still alive and kicking. The vaccine has risks, like every vaccine. Covid has a lot more risks. At the end of the day, you have to weigh up your choices. Your age, weight, sex all come in to play in regards to risk with covid.

don't make your decisions based on posters on an internet forum. even if your doctor isn't completely up to date on everything regarding COVID vaccinations, they are your best port of call for advice, taking into account your particular circumtances.

i am also a scientist, i just crunch data, though biological data requires a lot of understanding before you start crunching. ever since this crisis hit both my current lab and my previous lab have worked on SARS-COV2 in one way or another. i trust my colleagues judgements more than my own, much as i expect them to trust me about algorithms and data analysis, or quantum computing if we ever get that far lol. that won't convince you but its why i'm convinced. i just can't believe that the 40+ committed and talented researchers i've interacted with frequently over the course of this crisis are all wrong. philosophically appeals to authority are invalid but i don't have the skills or will to validate all their results myself, and tbh it would not be a good use of my time.

the vast majority of anti-vax arguments presented in this thread can be debunked in minutes of googling if you learn some of the jargon- admittedly this is quite a big ask, there's a lot and much of it is complicated and poorly understood. if you want to look for yourself and have questions about what you find then i'm sure i and others more qualified will be happy to try and help. if a greater understanding of how research is presented and what it actually entails follows from this absolute shit storm then at least that is one positive to come from it.

Simply nicely and fairly put can I say? And months late but very warm intro here. (From one crazy head btw lol).

And google is infiltrated with lying son of a bitch sites and info too for records. No offence intended again. It takes fanatic weeding out and really following noses and guts over time.

@Pumpkin2021 to me its a no brainer. Do you go in places where other people are? Do you interact with people, such as family members who go to the grocery store? Do you plan on eating out in a restaurant ever again? In the foreseeable future do you plan on going to a Doctor's office or a hospital? Plan on shopping at the mall during Christmas?

Think of it like the common cold (or more specifically part of it). Well, that stuff mutated in China and kills people dead now. It travelled alll the waaaaay to North America and kills people, young and old. And its getting stronger. And stronger. And stronger.

AND it mutates! And mutates again! And you have places like South Africa and Brazil where the population density is so thick and the ghettos are so big it turns into a seriously bad ass virus. And in India we got a 3 way split so says The WHO, and we don't mean the band. News at 11. And that's not a gambling reference.

Guess what? Eventually people are going to want to go home to South Africa and India and Brazil and where ever else eventually. And they are going to open up the airports and people are going to want to go on their crappy cruiselines and summers in Ibiza and all that jazz, and they are going to bring it back to their country of origin! Yes, folks. Those hardass variants, even though they are already here, are going to come back even stronger. And there is nothing on God's green Earth anyone can do to stop it. Because at the end of the day, the economy and money is going to win out. This pandemic is not going to last forever. Well, it will, under-reported maybe.

If you are a woman, possibly obese, and have problems with bruising, etc. then maybe have a good talk with your doctor about taking the vaccine. That's it. That's the high risk group. And the chances of getting a blood clot, which is actually medically treatable, are probably greater than winning the Super Lotto or getting struck by lightning twice.

This crap causes double pneumonia and even if you beat it has lasting potential effects.

I mean, maybe if you live in the backwoods of Alabama, not that there is nothing wrong with that, and generally don't see anyone anyways, who cares about taking the vaccine? Get it anyways, why are you scared its gonna turn you into a purple dinosaur?

Trust me. I've been an essential worker over the years and the viral crap out there will punish you severely. I've had the shits more times than I can count and had fevers where I tripped balls, no drugs included. This stuff will put you on your ass, guaranteed.

Just giving it a moment’s thought right now, I suppose a laboratory created organism can class as a mutant.

I often suspect that the loudest internet anti-Vaxxers are like priests preaching celibacy while they’re quietly fucking their housekeeper or small boys on the side. I wouldn’t take their word they’ve remained pure. Some people are just psychopaths who are more than capable of doing one thing and saying another.

have literally busted someone for that this week, fkin cray cray ( a vaxxed pretend-antivaxxer, not a priest)

Well if you're afraid of covid more than the shot, maybe based on your own health, then you'll have to make that call

i don't think i need the shot - even if i got covid, i'd bet that it would be mild in my case because i think im healthy - so that's my call on it - ive had issues with vaccines before including anaphylaxis, so i'll never get a vaccine again unless it's absolutely detrimental to my health, and in this case, i don't believe it is....

i just want the freedom to choose what goes in my body - i have that right. If there's no liability on the vaccine makers part, how can i trust it? it's not a "one size fits all" no matter how much they try to make it out to be

you're all scientists but you want me to be part of your research

nope

not happening

unless it's absolutely detrimental to my health, and in this case, i don't believe it is....
It’s really quite the opposite.

And you were doing so well, calling it a shot.

It’s vital people accurately acknowledge this point.

It’s NOT a vaccine. Fact.

It’s an experiment.

You are kind of close to the "back woods "environment. Just not Alabama. Very rural where I live. Lots of hunter's cabins, deer, woodpiles, dirt roads....etc. Guess that's why I haven't gotten it yet. I see more wild animals in a day then I do people. Seriously. It's an 80 mile round trip just to WalMart. I think that's why I haven't made an appt to get it yet. I am actually not afraid of Covid or the vaccine.

I'm not housebound or anything. I go out to the local bank, Dollar General, and hit a town about 20 miles from here for my groceries. I mask up and squirt the jelly stuff on my cart and am a good little Do- Bee. I don't have a GP at the moment so if I sprain an ankle or something like that I just use a walk in clinic. I could go there I suppose and get the vaccine. Guess I just figured I would get it in conjunction with another visit but I haven't needed any medical attention in awhile.

I just realized how isolated I really am.I don't have a problem with it. I like living in the North woods. But I am going to probably get it eventually.

Two of my expat friends had an AstraZeneca shot while visiting the UK a while back, and followed up with a Pfizer jab when back in the US. No unusual side-effects to report, just a bit of fatigue and soreness around the injection site for a few days 💉

I wonder if we could unanimously agree, that at least since 1945, nothing has come near to COVID for causing as much global fear, let alone disruption.

That has to be the case.

Fear is their greatest weapon. A lot of this is essentially about that.

COVID created and used to create unnecessary, disproportionate, unjustified, and very health detrimental fear. Using media, lies, manipulation.

Plain truths.

COVID is one of few things I am absolutely not afraid of.

Like I’m not afraid of being run over by a bus. Or dropped out of a plane.

I am, theologically speaking, but to walk around in fight or flight mode 24/7 tethered to these possible events we have learnt to live with and not be dominated by it.

In the early days of COVID I recall now, Donald Trump said repeatedly, and emphatically- “Don’t let it Dominate you”.

He was referring to the fear.

But I am going to probably get it eventually
Louise Hay would have classed that as “Belief in the calendar.”

Which is the exact psychological/emotional belief system/pattern she claims underlies influenza, with every physical manifestation health wise having a direct emotional origin.

Bookmakers would be really stupid to take bets that any single gambler will never get Covid.

I struggle logically to believe many people haven’t already had it. It’s super infectious, wild fire, but very mild on the collective whole, often asymptomatic, just, perspective.

There’s no place for fear. Perspective and understanding is required. We have been cunningly induced into mass collective fear. Hence my liking the term TRojan for the whole operation.
