yeah it'll be a nightmare. they're demonised before they are even out the gate. for some applications it'll be like 'have 14 months to live or take this,' that's quite easy. i dunno, science deniers gonna deny science, if they only deny themselves treatments i'm not that arsed, its more when they start influencing others to or making their own children suffer or generally being a menace to public safety that i start caring.

I started taking LSD at almost exactly the same time as @TripSitterNZ was born.

Unless he is lying about his age that is an indisputable fact in my 41.76 or something year experience of living.

My problem is a group of people coming on tv/newspapers to tell everyone that you need a qr-code (proof of vaccination) to travel/enter venues/ ... .
A new world is being created using language.

There is no need for a qr code to travel. I have fully vaccinated family members who have boarded several planes without anyone asking anything.
In our own country you need to show the restaurant owner your qr-code, but law specialists just brought out the police cannot check this. Because it is illegal.

So just saying that because someone says something on TV, its not necessarily the truth.

I have not yet been vaccinated (want to wait one year after my age group got it to gauge effect). Coming summer marks that date. I know no one who has gotten sick from Covid before there were vaccines. I have never been in lockdown since my job was never put on hold/possible to do from home. I work in public transport. My job is having contact with thousands of strangers in a small secluded, badly ventilated area, first and second wave without masks. My SO is a dentist. Neither of us got sick during the 18months without vaccine. We know countless friends who got sick after they got the vaccines. Im not talking short term side effects, I'm talking coughing for 2months straight, not wanting to take a test because they could lose their qr-code.
I know more people that got serious side effects from the vaccine (blood cloths, neurological damage, paralysis (all admitted by doctors that these were vaccine side effects) and zona/herpes/... outbreaks) than I know people who got sick with Covid.

somewhat agree, but if you depend on herd immunity for your protection, then its actually sensible not to get vaccinated, cos you're protected by those who are. we don't have herd immunity for covid yet but i can see why, if you ignore the fact you live in a society and depend on others for your safety, its sensible not to accept the tiny risks associated with getting any vaccine for diseases that we do have herd immunity for. because you are protected by everyone else. of course, this position is predicated on not caring about anyone but yourself and a sufficient number of people not making the same decision.

imo if you choose not to take it, then you accept the consequences of that choice. namely that your rights to act as a vector for disease will be limited to protect those who cannot be vaccinated and the tiny proportion of those vaccinated who will still be at risk of severe consequences if infected with whatever disease you've chosen not to be vaccinated against.

with rights come responsibilities. if you don't fulfill your responsibilities, you lose your rights.
