The Clinton Discussion Thread

It seems that Trump and his alliance (white hats, patriots in the government) are taking back the country for the people.
honestly, it's hard for me to see how any reasonably objective observer could look at his first year and draw that conclusion. the tax bill alone is a money grab for the wealthiest americans.

his transition team then, and his cabinet now, are a who's who of corporate interests.

here's just one example. jeff sessions is (indirectly) invested in the private prison system via mutual funds which include those holdings. in may last year he rolled back obama policy (aside, is that all the trump administration knows how to do?) and ordered federal prosecutors to pursue the toughest possible charges and sentences against crime suspects.

that action stands to financially benefit him personally. how can anybody not have a problem with this kind of corruption?

The tax bill is a joke! How can anyone even pretend to argue that he represents the average American after that?!

(sorry, wrong thread...)

depending on who you choose to believe anywhere between 55% and 75% of americans support marijuana legalization. even on the republican side, the number tends to be at least 51% - a majority.

trump campaigned on leaving the issue to the states.

sessions just cracked down on marijuana by rolling back obama policy on enforcement (aside, is that all the trump administration knows how to do?)

liquidmethod, this one if pretty cut and dried. the u.s. people want marijuana to be legal. can you help me understand how the administration's recent move has anything to do with "taking back the country for the people"?

thanks.

America voted for Hillary.

That is an undeniable fact, any way that you look at it.

Should the people take back the country for the people now?

No. That is not a fact. The fact is that ever so slightly over half of eligible voters in America voted for Hilary. Which isn't at all the same thing.

You're not helping your position by calling a misleading and ambiguous statement a fact.

Several million more voted for her? Am I telling a lie?

Let me say that I'm all for Bernie or Elizabeth or whatever. But the numbers don't lie.

i get where you are coming from cfc but it's irrelevant. this country elects the president by the electoral college, not the popular vote. end of story :\

donald trump used to think that the electoral college was the work of the devil:

strong words!

then he executed a complete 180 when it worked out for him:

so is it a "disaster for democracy" or is it "genius"? this'll be the straight-shooting that trump fans laud him for?

^ I know. I'm being a bit trollish really and I apologise to Jess.

However, since D. Trump himself agrees the electoral collage is a disgrace, I guess I have to stand by what I say and suggest he's an illegitimate president, by his own estimation??

I'm starting to wonder if he'll be the first president in living memory to not make a full term.

That book thing is headline news around the world right now, and it looks truly terrible 8(

(sorry, wrong thread...)

Btw, Hillary is apparently quite happy atm.

What gives you that impression? "They" said he would be impeached a year ago.

Btw, Hillary is apparently quite happy atm.
Also where are you getting this from? She just experienced a fire in her home and didn't even tweet to tell people she was all good.
She's also facing 3 investigations right now and her buddy Huma's indictment looks imminent.
Clinton is no doubt shitting herself.

If that fucking bastard wins, we all hang from nooses!

Depends on the content of the EOs.

Is a knife a good or a bad thing? Depends on who wields it and how they use it.

Also this is the Clinton thread?

All good. And it's a fair point. But of course in trumps world he won in a landslide so reality is neither here nor there.

Everyone knows reality is fake news perpetuated by the MSM and any numbers that say he didn't win in a landslide are the result of the rigged election. Which he won because people voted for him in such super over the top crazy numbers that even being rigged wasn't enough to stop him.

Democrats, going back to my husband and even before, but just in recent times going back to Bill and our candidates and then President Obama, have been losing the vote, including white women. We do not do well with white men and we don't do well with married white women," Clinton said.

She went on to say that white women face an "ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should."

A feminist who suggests women are not able to think for themselves? :)

Even after colluding with Russians to influence the election (fusion GPS), she could not win...but blames her loss on suggestible white women lost it. Whats that supposed to mean?

Allah heard you loud and clear!!

Sadly, here is video of her falling down the steps (twice) again today in India.

I do wish her well.

Ps..she actually lost because 4 million Obama voters did not turn up to vote for her. Well that, and all the Dems in PA and Michigan (union folks) who voted for trump.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/10/opinion/sunday/obama-trump-voters-democrats.html

Much of the political commentary since the presidential election has focused on two groups of party switchers: those who voted for Barack Obama in 2012 and Donald Trump in 2016 and those who voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Trump voters who previously voted for Mr. Obama are the subject of intense fascination because they are viewed as providing critical insights into the racial and class dynamics that helped determine the outcome of the election. On the other side, many analysts see Romney voters who flipped to Mrs. Clinton as an illustration of how the Democratic Party now survives in significant part by appealing to more upscale voters.

Frustratingly, however, these perspectives play down the importance of a crucial group of disaffected voters: those who voted for Mr. Obama in 2012 but then failed to go to the polls in 2016. Because this group is disproportionately young and black, this erasure is racially tinged.

Our analysis shows that while 9 percent of Obama 2012 voters went for Mr. Trump in 2016, 7 percent — that’s more than four million missing voters — stayed home. Three percent voted for a third-party candidate.

Way to miss the point.

As for the video: "trump troll laughs at old woman falling over". Big surprise there.
No class, no dignity.

Suggesting someone is being pressured to do something isn't the same as suggesting they aren't aware of that influence (not thinking for themselves).
