The biggest problem is that half the country approves of the eradication of democracy and the approval of authoritarianism to fulfill their Christian prophecy.

This is a holy war to them. The US doesn’t matter, justice doesn’t matter. Lives don’t matter. The prophecy is what matters. The end times and the battle against Satan is what matters.

I don’t think secular / left wing people actually realize what they are up against here and they are not taking any action to stand up to it. Cheering for AOC at a rally? That ain’t it. That ain’t gonna cut it.

The next elections are completely rigged already. They will. It be won even if democrats vote in a landslide. The question is: will democrats accept that obviously rigged election loss? I think they will. We are cowards. We will live under Christian theocratic rule as Iran once lost its secular way of life to these abrahamic religions and look what Iran is now. The US is not special and history will repeat itself as it did in iran . Authoritarian theocracies always take power especially in ultra religious societies like America.

I really don’t think ppl realize how serious this is and the extent of action it will take to stop it.

This isn’t about Trump, the courts and congress being compromised…..this is about the sentiments amon the most represented of US Citizens favoring all of this. This is what the majority of America wants. They won’t go against their religion. The church owns their political ideology and they will listen to what their church says, the lake of fire is their only other option right?

That is a fair argument. If the American people are too stupid to see that Trump is evil - Too stupid to see incompetent is better than Evil--- If the majority of americans favor this kind of behavior than we have damned ourselves. (The majority of america and 'the sentiments among the most represented' may *are* not the same. There may be hope there)

The eradication of democracy and the approval of authoritarianism to fulfill a christian prophecy counts as evil to me. (And I am catholic). If that is what it is than I hope the rest of the world is prepared to put us down like the rabid dogs we seem to be embodying.

Absolutely realize how serious this is and the extent of action it will take to stop it -- don't see too many movements worth joining and landing on this psychopaths hitlist -- starting such a movement would lead to a slow horrible death (historically).

So on the sidelines I will stay.

Does anyone remember the Twilight Zone episode where a spoiled child has special powers and if anyone upsets him he will use his powers for retribution (I think he was turning people he got mad at into objects or creatures?)

All the adults in the episode were trying to pacify his every whim so he wouldn't become angry and turn them into some creature. It reminds me of Donald Trump's unhinged and unchecked power plays right now. Truly terrifying.
