US Politics the 2025 trump presidency thread

Paul/Massie 2028
Bring our soldiers home, supporting and defending a limited government, w/ true separation of powers, an end to the federal reserve -- what is NOT to like?
Where my constitution absolutists at

That's what's scary about ANY talk about a constitutional convention -- ALL kinds of fuckery would be introduced and voted on by such a select few.

No thanks. That's when you know it's too late.

President Musk had quite the colorful childhood

On Errol Musk, his father:

In her memoir, Maye characterized her marriage as abusive and alleged Errol had been violent.[22] She recounts a time during their divorce when she sought refuge at a neighbor's home after Errol showed up with a knife looking for her.[21] After the divorce, Musk repeatedly sued his ex-wife for custody of their children.

Repeatedly sued huh, I guess the courts kept finding he wasn't fit for some reason? Couldn't have been the violence...

In 2014, Musk gave an interview about his son Elon.[32] In 2017, Musk was interviewed by Neil Strauss of Rolling Stone for a profile of Elon titled "The Architect of Tomorrow". Errol recalled that he had once shot and killed in self-defense "three out of five or six armed people" who had broken into his home. Elon described his father Errol as a "terrible human being", adding: "Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done."

Oh yea it was probably the violence

He likes to claim he was part of the progressive party but he supported this

A referendum on a new constitution was held in South Africa on 2 November 1983 in which the white population was given the opportunity to approve or reject the Constitution of 1983. This constitution introduced the Tricameral Parliament, in which Coloured and Indian South Africans would be represented in separate parliamentary chambers, while black Africans, who were the majority of South Africa's population, would remain unrepresented. The referendum passed with 66.3% of voters voting "Yes"; consequently the new constitution came into force on 3 September 1984.

He broke with his party, which wanted representation for black Africans, as he thought it was good enough. Supporting the gentle continuation of apartheid, nice

And said things like this

In 1986, he acquired rights to the output of three Zambian emerald mines, though he did not own mines themselves. In interviews with Walter Isaacson, he explained: "If you registered it, you would wind up with nothing, because the Blacks would take everything from you".

And this

in 2024 Errol said that Prime Minister Keir Starmer was a fascist as a result of his response to the 2024 United Kingdom riots

2024 UK riots for reference:

From 30 July to 5 August 2024,[a] far-right, anti-immigration protests and riots occurred in England and Northern Ireland, within the United Kingdom. This followed a mass stabbing in Southport on 29 July in which three children were killed. The riots were fuelled by false claims circulated by far-right groups that the perpetrator of the attack was a Muslim and an asylum seeker, in addition to broader Islamophobic,[33][34] racist,[35][36] and anti-immigrant sentiments[37][38][39] that had grown leading up to the protests. The disorder included racist attacks, arson, and looting and was the largest incident of social unrest in England since 2011.

Sounds like a cool guy right? Well turns out Elon's grandfather was a Nazi sympathizer and apartheid enjoyer

An examination of Joshua Haldeman’s writings reveals a radical conspiracy theorist who expressed racist, anti-Semitic, and antidemocratic views repeatedly, and over the course of decades—a record I studied across hundreds of documents from the time, including newspaper clips, self-published manuscripts, university archives, and private correspondence. Haldeman believed that apartheid South Africa was destined to lead “White Christian Civilization” in its fight against the “International Conspiracy” of Jewish bankers and the “hordes of Coloured people” they controlled.

“Instead of the Government’s attitude keeping me out of South Africa, it had precisely the opposite effect—it encouraged me to come and settle here,” he told a reporter for the South African newspaper Die Transvaler shortly after his arrival. The far-right Afrikaner newspaper treated Haldeman’s arrival as a PR victory for apartheid. (“PRAISES ACTION OF NATIONALIST PARTY REGIME: Canadian Politician Settles in South Africa,” the headline read.)

Huh interesting, I wonder if Elon has anything to say about that particular grandfather?

Isaacson describes him as a source of Musk’s great affection for danger—“a daredevil adventurer with strongly held opinions” and “quirky conservative populist views” who did rope tricks at rodeos and rode freight trains like a hobo. “He knew that real adventures involve risk,” Isaacson quotes Musk as having said. “Risk energized him.”

Oh... Okay that's... Interesting. Just quirky huh?

But Elon definitely isn't a Nazi right?

Musk was responding to a post Wednesday that said Jewish communities “have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.” The post also referenced “hordes of minorities” flooding Western countries, a popular antisemitic conspiracy theory.

It’s the kind of post you can find easily on X these days, and likely would have gone unnoticed had Musk, with more than 160 million followers, not re-shared the post with the comment: “You have said the actual truth.”

Oh but surely he must have been joking right just a troll I'm sure

Speaking at President Trump’s inauguration event this week, Elon Musk slapped his right hand on his chest before shooting his arm diagonally upward, palm facing down. He did it twice.

It looked a lot like the salute used in Nazi Germany and fascist Italy. But almost immediately, a striking number of different interpretations began to circulate.

Some commentators called it a “Roman salute.”

A Roman salute huh? I wonder who else said they based their salute off the Roman one?

The Roman salute, also known as the Fascist salute, is a gesture in which the right arm is fully extended, facing forward, with palm down and fingers touching. In some versions, the arm is raised upward at an angle; in others, it is held out parallel to the ground. In contemporary times, the former is commonly considered a symbol of fascism.

In Germany, the salute, sporadically used by the Nazi Party (NSDAP) since 1923, was made compulsory within the movement in 1926.[45] Called the Hitler salute (Hitlergruß), it functioned both as an expression of commitment within the party and as a demonstrative statement to the outside world.[46] Yet in spite of this demand for the outward display of obedience, the drive to gain acceptance did not go unchallenged, even within the movement. Early objections focused on its resemblance to the Roman salute employed by Fascist Italy, and hence on it not being Germanic. In response, efforts were made to establish its pedigree and invent a proper tradition after the fact.[46]

Hmm so surely the ADL has a good take on this!

The website of the Anti-Defamation League, which campaigns against anti-Semitism, defines the Nazi salute as “raising an outstretched right arm with the palm down,” and ranks it as “the most common white supremacist hand sign in the world.”

But after Mr. Musk’s stiff-arm salute, the Anti-Defamation League called it “an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute.”

Oh that's weird I wonder why they're so lenient with him, perhaps simply because he supports Israel and it doesn't matter if he's a Nazi in that case

Andrea Stroppa, known as Mr. Musk’s emissary in Italy, posted on the social media platform X: “The Roman Empire is back, starting from the Roman salute.” He later deleted the post, saying that people were interpreting “the whole thing as a reference to Nazi-fascism.”

Oh wow I wonder why on earth people would interpret it like that? Who knows he's probably just trolling right

In Germany, gestures like the one Mr. Musk made are illegal, along with other symbols and slogans from the Nazi era. (On Wednesday night, anti-Musk protesters projected an image showing his salute and the words “Heil Tesla” onto the facade of his company’s German factory.)

For the German establishment, the situation was very clear.

“A Hitler salute is a Hitler salute is a Hitler salute,” the prominent German weekly Die Zeit wrote in an editorial.

Oh but surely he doesn't support any actual Nazi parties?

Elon Musk praised the co-leader of the German party Alternative for Germany (AfD) as “very reasonable” on Thursday, urging Germans to vote for the far-right party in what is the latest high-profile sign of the tech billionaire’s involvement in European politics.

Yes surely he must be trolling, all signs point to epic troll. Definitely no Nazi stuff here

So far I like everything that Trump is doing. His policies match his persona... no holds barred, totally blunt and to the point. I understand the deeper machinations of governance and how one man is not really going to be the long-term solution to any of the real problems of the world. But so far, at least from a PR standpoint, everything I'm seeing could be injected right into my veins. I love it.

The far-left has traumatized the fuck out of me in the past 5-10 years in ways that directly affected my day to day life, and as petty as it is, I'm glad to see some justice. The left-wing media and the left-wing on the internet are all completely losing their minds and it's music to my ears. We have needed balance so badly and I am happy to see American governance being brought back to centre. They used their entire captured establishment to push false narratives and they're still doing now, yet they continue to lose big. I'm super entertained, pass the popcorn.

Out of all the western nations who are turning into globalist dogshit thanks to cultural Marxists, I now believe the US will be the last to fall and may be the only country that can truly resist it. If I could live in the USA I would.

This is an old article. I used it in Trump's first term. It does give a quick overview of FAIR and CIS and how the organizations were formed by John Tanton. It shows their roots in the Great Replacement Theory and tendrils all through Trump's administration.

All this really explains the opposition to abortion by the Trump organization as well. We gotta have white people breeding more and get the immigrants out before they pollute our gene pool, ya know.

Stephen Miller and Jeff Session constantly cite FAIR and CIS. FAIR and CIS have actually spoken in front of Congress a number of times.

We all know Jeff Sessions is a little racist. By that, I mean a racist of short stature.

And Miller is now White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor.

There is no naziism occurring in the US government. Stop abusing language. It's getting old and one-note.
Perhaps you should read the post I made about Elon Musk being an actual literal Nazi who came from a family of Nazis and apartheid lovers.

Its that really long post with a lot of words just before your post where you call the government centrist

the trump - and the gop - response to bishop budde's sermon is so telling.

let's first remember her crime - she invited the president to be merciful. to care for others.

you know, like jesus.

matthew 5:7: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy"

luke 6:36: "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful"

trump has demanded she apologise. apologise!

for what? following christ?

she has nothing to apologise for.

alasdair

This is so well said. I'm so sick of his supporters using the name of Jesus without bothering to think who Jesus really is. If only we had a way to know ...
Like maybe his words!!??
