Yeah I relate.

Nicotine is a great / horrible one depending on how you look at it. It's so convenient and the buzz is just noticable enough to make things a bit brighter, minimal if no come down, but the withdrawal and compulsion is extremely difficult to overcome. One of the hardest if not the hardest.
the hardest???? ...gonna have to disagree ...not in the same league with the heavy hitters....nicotine just doesn't compare in any way ....its the candy of addictions imo....but to each their own...

Taking the plunge and quitting amphetamines.

Day 1 and 2 immense drowsiness. Day 3 less drowsey but soul crushing empty depression allowed me to sleep all day as well

Depression and physical weakness today.

About six months relatively daily use with some intermittent breaks. Last break was a month straight, but crutched it with Vyvanse 20mg most days. Between a point to .5 vaped at most each day

What's the recovery trajectory like for others who have quit? I have magnesium, multi-vitamins, NAC, and buproprion(wellbutrin). First three days totally dry, not helpers.

You want to talk about heavy drug use ? When I was a teenager I took 100 assorted pills and I felt weird for three days and by the fourth day I was in a semi-coma for five days after that. I'm glade that I survived and didn't die when I was a teenager.

Good on you! Valium/clonazepam can help if you have a doc who is willing to prescribe you some (they most likely won't). But I think you've got a good chance of quitting. I used vyvanse as a crutch once as well and I just relapsed. Better to go cold turkey altogether I think. NAC, magnesium, multivitamins and fish oil/lion's mane helped me a lot. The lion's mane I brought as a powder and had it with coffee ☕ Helped a lot, I did relapse once or twice but the lion's mane kept me together in a way. Just work on saying no, don't put yourself in situations where your mind will get absolutely bored to the point of wanting to pick up.

Just willpower for a few weeks and the cravings will lessen. If you can see a psychologist or counsellor that would be good. Try some light daily exercise if you can, it will do you wonders.

Edit: I have no idea about wellbutrin (anecdotally)

My thoughts exactly 💯
I hate to encourage either but it is better than meth. I drank huge unhealthy amounts of coffee when I quit drinking, a long time ago and the headache I got when I ran out of coffee still makes me cringe. Pots a day, not cups, okay but a lot of cups. Nicotine may help, besides nicotine, caffeine and maybe some weird ingredients in energy drinks are really the only uppers that are legal, unless you have a prescription upper.

Although, disclaimer. If you don't smoke/vape/ingest nicotine, it's probably not good to have another addiction on top.

I just mean if you are already a smoker/vaper etc. The nicotine seems to help.

Coffee is incredible though, it got me through a few really dark months.

I swear nicotine is probably the most addictive drug out there.

Thanks y'all, I do vape so leaning into that. I cut out most of my caffiene intake a couple years ago but have been using some pre-workout to get going

It's getting better as I'm tuning back into a normal sleep schedule. Still feel this like weakness or lagging sensation in my body movements? Hopefully that passes soon, typically was pretty well coordinated but feel very clumsy and sluggish

good evening guys. been a weird few months. have been dabbling with benzos and fent the last few months rather than complete abstinence. i’ve somehow been able to limit it to once every 12-14 days but that’s shifty.

doing well though, haven’t popped in here in awhile.

Hey, long time. Careful with tolerance reset overdoses. That is what kills so many. Just be careful, and stay safe.
Besides, opiods and benzos, can kill creativity.

if you get killed from opioids and benzos, you won't have any creativity.
~~
but the tolerance reset seems like it will always be there. it seems like it will be a long time for it to go away. the tolerance or lack of right ? and uh yes it kindles.

please don't let it turn into a habit so . . . . it can instead be able to feel so fine that way. and it will be all that.

so please don't let it be a habit. an occasion is fine. or you know, it can turn into a thing. not a good one. as in you know . . . it's reset o'clock.

~~

so just stopping for a while is very nice. not having to be stuck with a habit that won't stop and that is there everyday and hour and minute and second. so take a break. a break that actually feels so good to take. and be in that good experience and know how it feels. but anyway . . .

and anyway it sounds great to be taking a break . . . . . i know, but that means also to be very very very careful. i would be so (extremely) cautious.

it feels soo good once in a while though. as in . . . . . less is better. yeah.

way better. woo woo.

.

hey hey hey

i say

" It's really easy to get high, it's really hard to stay sober. sober is way cooler " !!!!
🌻

it is !! 😁

It's better to heal first and get stronger to be able to make the best and healthiest decisions possible and always. And as a rule, is a good priority and a goal.

Think clearly to be able to choose wisely. Learn good habits and life skills. You have to be safe and reduce your harm. And you can change your behavior

and other habits. But most importantly of all learn to reduce your harm. And have a nice day too.

Bye.

Quick check in. Been having a bit of a rough time, but I'll get there. 16 months clean. I stumbled upon a movie, "Narcotic (1933) by Dwain Esper"
*Trigger warning, opium use*

But surprisingly good for it's age.

Double edit: cocaine/IV use also

Whoa. You so said it so right. 'Rough times' for sure is exactly what it is like.

Thank you for that.

You have to completely want it. That deep will to keep going.

And even worse one's life can be in danger from using.

You have to get there. Have to want it.

You will do fine. You can. I hope you get there. Good Blessings to you Always.
