US Politics The 2020 Trump Presidency Thread

Honestly im getting to a point where i feel being a Trump Supporter at this point in the game is participating in an act of treason. If you havent reversed your course after all that has happened in the past week, well that just disgusts me. He lost just get the fuck over it, he did a horrible job as president. This country hasn't been this divided since the past civil war, and he is a major reason why. Biden may not be the best one we will have but its a step in the right direction away from this madness. Trump is trying to undermine democracy amd he must be stopped before its too late.

Support the role of president, not necessarily the person. Because it's group dynamics, what's good for the group, is good for you.

Makes you wonder if Trump already knew about everything that has been going on and then some. I read an interesting article that the younger brother of Trump Sr(dad) was given the job to collect all of Nikola Tesla's research material and could have possibly discovered how to travel through time.

>everyone I disagree with is a conspiracy theorist bigot racist xenophobe

Its all so very tiring bro’s. They are using the psyop at the capital to bring in an authoritarian new patriot act, crush all dissenting opinion via deplatforming, and many many other authoritarian measures are planned Via Covid. If Trump is defeated then it will be up to we the people to defeat this evil. But I feel so demoralized now that we know voting doesn’t work. What’s next? This is truly a dark time in the US.

When a large group of appalled people stand by and say nothing, that's called negligence.

Maybe they are talking about it yet how would anyone know since the media would be focussed on the story thats hit the headlines rather than people going about their daily lives?

Also, banning his social media accounts isn't the greatest idea since its the most direct way of seeing any response at all from the public?

As the article says, the support Trump wanted was to support the legal way of questioning the vote, all those lawsuits apparently didn't even get read (I think this is bs, legally a judge must read all paperwork put in front of him)

I recall similar accusations of election rigging coming from the democrats, even people here who are adamant this election was fair without batting an eyelid reckoned that election was rigged .

Another pretty good read from a source I won't verify as trusted as I dont trust any news tbh- plays a bit of a devils advocate in this situation.

The tools bar at the top of this isn't working, no idea why, if not linking copy paste and read this.
What I would like to know is why he was not immediately removed for inciting violence?

The answer would be that he wanted a march on the capitol and to fight for either him or democracy, dunno what he tweeted exactly. The guy got censored because of what might happen if dumbasses read it, should have banned the accounts of the rioters since the news here implies all heads of state everywhere might lose their accounts now. Not that I care.

That did not specifically state "siege", or breaking laws. A march is a march, not a full on riot. Marches hapoen all the time.

So now the democrats control the whole thing, that is most definitely not good for any democracy and what happens there now both good and bad is going to have to be on them.

There won't be any finger pointing at the "evil republicans" and good luck finding anyone who would break ranks to criticise them even if america ends up in an economic depression while the politicians are too busy on identity politics.

There's been no mention of that affidavit from the election worker, its probably bullshit.

The voting system is stupid, it is here too and there won't be an overhaul anyway since elections are just for show. Politicians can easily work amongst themselves to keep themselves in power or thwart opposition to suit themselves.

"Negligence" implies people could have done something but that isn't realistic as no one really listens to them.

In case y'all are wondering, the Senate needs a 60-40 majority to pass bills on to the president. That means middle-ground Republicans will have to be swing votes on anything that isn't unanimous the next two years at least. A close majority is always better than a unanimous law pushing machine in my book.

"Reason must prevail."

Wait... what? You do? Do you have difficulty completing sentences/using proper English grammar or are you just poking fun?
No to both! I am not taking the piss. And actually when it comes to speaking i.e. verbal oration, and a grasp of language and its exact, explicit and precise meaning, I am actually naturally gifted, vocally I mean.

I'm not debating anything here with you. You can see the world and it's inhabitants how it comes across to you.

I am simply answering those two questions.

As it happens, language, it's infinite uses and conjugations, is a natural passion of mine.

If you read any of my posts you should be able to answer one of those questions fairly easily. By no means do I have difficulty finishing scentences, using proper grammar and accurate use of language.

Heck, I love scentences. Long ones, short ones, fat ones lol (I'm not fattist!)

I love words too. Especially long words, not in a boffy sense, more out of appreciation.

Now typos....THAT is a different matter and I hold my hand up to that crime.

Certainly I am not taking the piss. I try and avoid being kryptic, aiming always.....hold on....need to....finish...this....scentence haha (not being facetious mate just trying to have a little laugh in such a serious global climate)....to make my precise meaning as clear as day, even when I am taking the piss.

Laugh with, not at, is just one of my many motos!

I want to say- somebody who has been...reported, as unable to sit still...he does do a very good job at never fluffing his words, reciting mulriple very specific terms and figures, stood still, admittedly shifting around, in simple free use of body language, for prolonged periods in public.

I expect he must have an earpiece to keep to the script and figures etc.

Still I admire Trump's oratory skills. Just MY view.

The point I want to make. Whatever....he is the POTUS.. he is not some mindless, unintelligent, incompetent moron who just happened to be where he is, against ALL odds, launch codes and all.

So I just think it's peculiar to so easily describe him as some lowlife, numbskull moron. Surely that is emotionally driven, an extent at least?

Trump definitely has natural political ability, there's no doubt about that imo. He has a good instinctive grasp of the political "dark arts"

Luckily he's also a lazy oaf who doesn't have the work ethic or competence needed to become the post-modern Hitler...we may not be so lucky by the time the next Trump comes around, though...

The next autocrat to grab the reigns will be smarter by far.

Trump was just a useful tool that is currently being disgarded, as his usefulness is at an end.

For perspective 500 years ago a king would kill his brother for power. Seemed normal too for the time. Humans have been barbaric in history. So even with all the craziness we are more tame than say the Sparticus days. These people would dress up on a Saturday and watch people kill each other for entertainment. Fast forward 2021 I think it is down to about 25% of the population that are victims, haters, blamers pointing fingers. Most watch movies and would not watch people be killed. So that's good. lol

It does piss me off that they turn in their own but a house divided further divides. Unity does the opposite. It is easy to see even with just logic. But that woman that died, I feel bad her German Shepard will not see her anymore. Let's face it, the dog got the best of this woman. But even after dying they divide and turn against her. So with that logic pretty soon Trump will be turning on himself at some point.

I agree, it is pretty messed up that her own side turned against her after her death. I thought we'd all be treated to the Ashli Babbitt Martyrs Brigade afterwards but the MAGA folks are so bogged down in the conspiracy quagmire that they can't tell their asshole from their elbow at this point

Actually, she’s a martyr to some and antifa or whatever to others. Trump’s coalition of crazy is fracturing.

That is untrue, there were about 60 court cases, and in each one, Trump's legal team presented their cases, and was defeated in court because they were unable to produce any evidence. The cases were not thrown out without being read, that is untrue. They did 3 or more recounts in swing states, and each time it was determined that the outcome was the same. Many election officials were Republicans and Trump voters, too. Literally no one involved in the process is claiming fraud. 60 court cases were properly executed and dismissed for a lack of evidence. The only "evidence" for fraud is that Trump and his allies just keep repeating it over and over and over again. Saying something a million times doesn't make it true.

Due process was followed here. The majority of Americans voted for Biden (or rather, against Trump), because they had had enough after 4 years. It was close, but he lost. In a civilized democracy, you accept defeat and you work hard at getting more voters on your side next time. You don't spread lies to undermine confidence in the system, call up election officials to attempt to get them to change the vote count (you heard that phone call? It's really something), demand recounts, lose again, and then still insist you won, and inspire your followers to march on the capitol to stop the legal certification of the electoral vote.

Have you watched the speech that Trump gave to march? He called on his supporters to march on the capitol to stop the certification. He said "you have to be strong to take back our county". The day before that (I think it was the day before), Rudi Giuliani literally said that it was time to march on the capitol and do a "trial by combat". I'm sorry but it naive to think that this was not a call to violence, especially since the social media world was flooded with people organizing to bring their guns and take back the capitol and some calling for killing of the senators.

Have you seen the news coverage of reporters on the scene? There were crowds of people screaming "kill them all!! where are they??"

I'm not being a Trump hater, I am facing reality. And for the record I don't hate Trump supporters. We're all just pawns in this political chess game. Hell, if I believed that the country was run by a cabal of child molesting satan worshippers who stole the election and were about to turn this country into a communist shit hole, I'd be fucking enraged too. I put the blame squarely on Trump and his constant divisive and inflammatory rhetoric and baseless lies, and on the Republican congresspeople and the right wing media outlets like Fox who helped spread this and/or stood by and let it happen for political gain. It's their fault and it's them I save my anger for.

I also blame the MSM for horrible and irrepsonsible reporting. The media on both sides has been stoking this division and now there is so much hatred of American against American. It makes me sick.

Did he specifically say to breach the building, smash in and run amok?

The mob mentality of these bunch isn't something to just underestimate.

A response to an edict of Trump or anyone with some kind of devotion is unpredictable and they should have been prepared to handle it, they weren't with some cops is deplorable, the response should have been fatal more brutal.

Im not condoning the childish behaviour from Trump at all, he was never fit for office anyway however he can't have all blame here and he shares that with the white house security.

That guy was asked to resign and he did.

Trump should ha e resigned which he wouldn't do based on his character so should be removed from office by force.

Banning him from social media might increase his support in a way. That also removes the public voice that could have their say and that is robbing him of seeing responses against him too.

The public use platforms to have a chance to participate and that's key here, dont just assume people get sucked in to doing the wrong thing as its the way to fight shit like that as well.

Xolirth, I wasnt thinking about you in the group of hard core Trump hate that isn't worth reading, I was thinking of others, you make your points with good grace and set an example some just don't have the ability to do so.

Hate has no place in a pure, enlightened soul my friend.

Huge bugbears, to say least, are simply inevitable.
