US Politics The 2020 Trump Presidency Thread

That would be fair enough but then I'd like to hear the specific reasons why.
Because if you've droned on about the president being racist for 4 years - and saying that is a reason why he's unfit for the presidency - and then youvote for someone who's more racist.... well that just invalidates a ton of what you've said previously. And that's why someone here refuses to answer the question. I'd respect it more if they just said "Yeah Biden is more racist than Trump but I'm still voting for him for other reasons such as (insert stupid reason)".
Trump's stupidity and ignorance brothers me more than his racism does; not sure it'd be wise for me to say that it public though.

I have no idea, trump seems to do that quite well without any help. :p

That's what I'm saying, Trump is not gaffe-proof and gives them plenty of legit ammo.
So when they constantly need to lie and misrepresent what he says - they just end up fucking themselves because they discredit themselves and bolster Trump's image among supporters.

Taking it at face value, seems quite plausible that's being thrown off by there being a disproportionate/larger number of poorer people voting left wing, and poorer people tend to be less educated. It doesn't in itself mean anything as far as the rightness or wrongness of the political alignment. Just that, if so, poor people on the whole, are more likely to vote left than right.

Lies damn lies and statistics.

What's definitely bullshit though is saying that someone who can answer more science questions with better use of English is "smarter". It means, again, that they're probably better educated. Which isn't the same as intelligence.

And finally, it's just a bad point to make. Because it says absolutely nothing about any actual position or opinion. It's just pathetic "people who disagree with me are dumb" bullshit.

And yes it's just as bullshit when people come up with ways to show the reverse conclusion of conservatives being less intelligent, which people also do all the time.
It's pretty easy to distinguish a dumb person from a smart one just by looking the way they use words and how good they are at forming sentences, how they play with language and how they make their sentences sound. Of course there might be exceptions, but from the people i meet i usually can tell by their knowledge of words and how they form sentences. A good writer can explain his point very accurate, because of he knows which words to use.

Not necessarily because there's different types of intelligence for different scenarios.
I know successful people who have poor spelling.
I know someone who mispronounces simple words yet he can fix/build/drive almost anything.
Many super intelligent booksmart academics have zero idea about what goes on in the real world.

Anyone disagree?

Are you saying that you can't help be a trump supporter? That it's just part of the nature of who you are as an individual, and that no amount of debating it is ever gonna change that? That it has nothing to do with facts, it simply 'is'?

If you answer yes, then yes it can be discrimination. Otherwise it's just your opinion and I can "discriminate" against you for it all I like.

President Trump Signs EO Creating Accountability and Demanding Higher Standards for Law Enforcement

President Trump is signing an executive order on Tuesday regarding police reform that instructs Attorney General Bill Barr to oversee accountability for law enforcement units, a White House official originally told Townhall on Monday night. AG Barr will validate independent bodies to credential law enforcement units if reasonable standards are met. Practices on the radar of AG Barr include de-escalation training, use-of-force standards, systems to detect early warning signs of issues with law enforcement personnel and community engagement measures. The executive order mandates that any law enforcement department seeking grants via the federal government must be certified by these independent bodies as overseen by AG Barr.

The order also allows AG Barr to create a system in which information related to cases in which law enforcement officers are proven to have used excessive force can be shared, and units receiving public funds will be required to report the information. This measure will prevent law enforcement officers who are guilty of excessive force from moving from one jurisdiction to another freely. DOJ grants will go strictly to law enforcement departments that follow these procedures fully.

Mental health concerns are also addressed in this executive order. AG Barr and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar will foster programs that will create training and resources for law enforcement officers to prepare for encounters with individuals suffering from impaired mental health, addiction and homelessness. It will also increase the number of social workers who work in conjunction with law enforcement in co-responder programs so that appropriate situations can be addressed by both parties.

The executive order brings focus back to training programs, and mandates accountability for law enforcement, while not vilifying the profession in its entirety. Ending qualified immunity is still off the table at this point.

Since when do we trust the FDA to do what's best for people's health? Turns out they can't patent this drug which costs $20 to treat people.

Dr Vladimir Zelenko:

"We can END the COVID 19 pandemic if we put human lives before profit and politics.

Identify patients who are at high risk to die & treat them WITHIN FIVE DAYS of onset symptoms.

I had a 99.7% survival rate in my patients and an 84% reduction in hospitalizations."

Trump is literally correct, the media HATES it and we're in such a fucked up political environment that people would rather lie about how to successfully treat covid patients in order to make Trump look bad.

The Lancet just retracted two "studies" which said HCQ was dangerous. Even CNN begrudgingly reported on it.

FDA has caused more harm than good. Milton Friedman wrote how it has caused more harm than good. Even killed more people by regulating good drugs, than saved by regulating bad drugs

It makes drugs super expensive, since they make companies do so much research and it's better for them to release drugs later than sooner, since they "were just making sure it's safe." Too long patents and FDA are the ones who make US drug prices insane.

Remember when the Trump administration was definitely going down because they had evidence that Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin in order to influence the election to get himself elected?
Adam Schiff stated that he had direct evidence of this.
How does anyone take CNN seriously anymore?
People must love the emotional tele-drama of getting strung along for years, pumped full of hopium.

It's funny to me because we've got Biden admitting on camera that he withheld aid to a foreign country until the government there fired a prosecutor who was investigating a gas company where his unqualified son was working. OBVIOUSLY if Trump had done this it would be on MSM non-stop 24/7 as justification for him being too corrupt for the Presidency. So I mean is anyone actually kidding themselves at this point? Does anyone on the Left still feel morally righteous cheering for the Democratic Party? It must be hard because you can't exactly say that you're ignoring evidence in order to remove Trump specifically, and you have to maintain the facade that you care about law and order, justice, doing what's morally right etc...

Impeachment was not a hoax.

Bolton's book is going to be juicy

Why would anyone take this warmongerer seriously? He is neo-con to the teeth, but now liberals worship him because Dfönald Trumpf. This guy is calling for 3 wars, at least 3 wars to be started right now. Venezuela, Iran, North Korea. He is a snake.
Trump got elected with the premise of stopping endless wars. Him making Bolton such a powerful person in the White House was a mistake. He fixed it and now Bolton is salty.

Actually Trump is not calling for war on DPRK he likes to say "with HILLARY you'd be at war with N. Korea!" and lord knows both of those sound WONDERFUL To me.
I know it's not Trump calling for a war, it's Bolton. I think you misread my statement.
I think your opinion would change once American military starts drafting people around your age and you're the one being sent to the frontline. Why would you even go war with North Korea? A bad idea, could lead to nuclear escalation and every ally of US around that area would object it. Also it would lead to proxy war, since China would start funding the North Koreans and that would escalate tensions between US and China. I thought you as a libertarian thinker would object something like spending tons to wars which don't end and are not neccessary.
I get the imperialism point, i get if US attacks Venezuela for the oil reserves but North Korea? What do they even have? Poverty?

I must have, my apologies. Yes Bolton has the real thirst for war and I think he was the only decent thing about the Trump administration, proven by his ability to tell the truth about Trump's high crimes during his administration.

He's hungry for power. He is betting on Trump going down and he is just trying to make himself look good. I don't claim Trump didn't do anything wrong, i'm just saying that I wouldn't believe what Bolton says. Why didn't he tell everything when he swore an oath? Now he's writing a book, hmmm.. Some of his earlier works are OK stuff, but if you want to get core of it just read Leo Strauss, the daddy of neoconservatism.

Another crushing defeat for the Trump Administration at the SCOTUS:

SUPREME COURT BLOCKS PLAN TO END DACA

The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to block the Trump administration from ending an Obama-era program that shields nearly 700,000 young undocumented immigrants from deportation, upending a key feature of President Trump’s immigration agenda.

In a 5-4 decision, the justices said the administration failed to give an adequate justification for terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, as required by federal law.
