Election 2020 The 2020 Candidates: Right, Left and Center!

All the hand wringing, moaning, and fear put forth by the left about Trump not leaving peacefully if he loses the election may come true. But, can I ask what has given evidence that this is his inclination? To my memory, he won't acknowledge the possibility of losing and state a "If that happens..." So, I'm without reference to justify this assertion.

However, we do have this

"Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don't give an inch..."

Hillary is a loon, deep in the closet as lesbian, and makes Elizabeth Warren, Omar, Biden, Obama, and AOC look sane. Even her 'husband' Bill who is into sexually assaulting women like Biden is, knows she is crazy.

Honestly i think it is false if it was true it would of came out that very week it happened.
True it is fake made up 'news' as usual.

The fictional story that happened 2 years ago from “Anonymous Sources” 3 months before the election? Riiighttt..

Also French media both in France, Blegium, and Luxembourg did not report it ever happening at all, and neither did German, Dutch, Italian, or UK media at the time, nor media in the USA.

Yet none of these sources have put their name to the story which makes it a weak story and other white house staff who where there and have said its totally fake. So either these anonymous sources can put their name out there to give them credibility
Exactly. Even that idiot Bolton says it never was said and did not happen.

^ actually that's not what bolton said at all. you're obviously very against fake news so i know you'd want to get this right and not contribute your own fake news to the issue.

his actual words were: "I didn't hear that...I'm not saying he didn't say them later in the day or another time, but I was there for that discussion."

which is a world of difference from "it never was said" and/or it "did not happen"...

alasdair

He's a draft dodging ego maniac who has already very publicly insulted a war hero and a veteran's family. Why exactly do people not believe this when multiple sources have confirmed it, even Fox News 😂 . Not that it matters. As the saying goes, he could shoot someone's grandma while she was knitting with cookies in the oven and his supporters would still vote for him.

That's what it means to have strong values.

I just look at the demographics for his base, specifically his loyal base, and it's no surprise his gaslighting and manipulation is so successful to them.

The Psychology Behind Donald Trump's Unwavering Support

This is what I touched on earlier, and it creates a very scary and dangerous atmosphere in our country. Trump is allowing this country to devolve significantly by allowing this to happen, all for his own personal gain. And, how do you discuss and debate with an irrational person operating on false knowledge to convince them of this?

1. The Dunning-Kruger Effect

Some believe that many of those who support Donald Trump do so because of ignorance — basically they are under-informed or misinformed about the issues at hand. When Trump tells them that crime is skyrocketing in the United States, or that the economy is the worst it’s ever been, they take his word for it.

The seemingly obvious solution would be to try to reach those people through political ads, expert opinions, and logical arguments that educate with facts. Except none of those things seem to be swaying any Trump supporters from his side, despite great efforts to deliver this information to them directly.

The Dunning-Kruger effect explains that the problem isn’t just that they are misinformed; it’s that they are completely unaware that they are misinformed. This creates a double burden.

Studies have shown that people who lack expertise in some area of knowledge often have a cognitive bias that prevents them from realizing that they lack expertise. As psychologist David Dunning wrote in an op-ed for Politico, “The knowledge and intelligence that are required to be good at a task are often the same qualities needed to recognize that one is not good at that task — and if one lacks such knowledge and intelligence, one remains ignorant that one is not good at the task. This includes political judgment.” Essentially, they’re not smart enough to realize they’re dumb.

And if one is under the illusion that they have sufficient or even superior knowledge, then they have no reason to defer to anyone else’s judgment. This helps explain why even nonpartisan experts — like military generals and Independent former Mayor of New York/billionaire CEO Michael Bloomberg — as well as some respected Republican politicians, don’t seem to be able to say anything that can change the minds of loyal Trump followers.

How is he allowing it to happen? He's wanted the riots in Portland to stop for some time now but the pansy ass mayor and governor didn't want him to send help. So how exactly is he the one to blame for what's going on?

This somewhat proves exactly what I just said, to be honest. There is very focused, misdirected rhetoric constantly being utilized and when it's reputed with logical reasoning, it's always ignored. If all of the argument points focus solely on the riots and what Trump continues to argue in attempts to gaslight and manipulate, those people who listen are being directed from the real problems and the big picture. "Missing the forest for the trees," as they say - and being directed in this fashion on purpose by a narcissistic, manipulative man. I'll say it again, the riots have a cause and are a symptom (one of many), and if the cause continues to be ignored, we would only be treating the symptom instead of the root cause.

Let me ask you this, do you believe there is a valid reason for the protests?

No, I don't really believe there's a valid reason for the protests anymore. They've been going on for 100 days now in Portland, and as far as I can tell have changed absolutely nothing. From a lot of what I've seen protesters/rioters aren't interested in sitting down and compromising, or being very rational in general. Just holding daily protest that turn into nightly riots over and over isn't the way to affect changes you want IMO.

Ok, let me follow up. Do you believe systemic racism or racism of any form is a problem in our country? I think the way an individual answers this question is a component to how they weigh and assess the acceptability of protests and riots.

If you believe it's a problem, though, and you believe the protests aren't working, what would another solution be?

No, I don't. There's racism just like there always has been but it's not systemic. How could there be systemic racism when we've seen a black president, NBA players are making millions of dollars, people are getting scholarships based on their race, etc., etc.?

For sure, systemic racism wouldn't guarantee all Black people (or more appropriately, all minorites) are affected. I don't believe it's that severe, for sure - we'd have a huge problem if it did. I do believe that it exists, though, and it exists enough that it's crossing some threshold (what that is, I don't know) that it's problematic for enough minorities that change would be beneficial to our country, as a whole. It only benefits everyone, in the long run.

But, fair enough, assuming there is no systemic racism for our discussion here, do you believe racism alone is worthy of protests or advocation of change? If not, what could be done that didn't make a lot of noise?

I'd have to know the circumstances. If it isn't systemic then it's not really something you can effectively protest because there's always going to be a minority of people that are racist, and protesting isn't going to change their views. If they're acting on their racism tho then that's obviously a criminal issue. So what change are we advocating and what is the end goal? I think a lot of people don't even know what they're protesting for at this point. Countless protests making crazy demands that are never going to be taken seriously isn't the way to see change imo. They'd be better off working within the system for feasible solutions and working on programs within their own communities to try to change some of the societal issues they're faced with. But then again, an awful lot of these people seem to be white, so I'm not exactly sure how they'd know what's best for the African American majority in the first place.
