Systemic racism looks like the guy who wrote the bill to lock Blacks up running for president 26 years afterwards & demanding blind faith and allegiance from Black Americans.

Is this the dawn of the celebrity president? I hope Terry Crews stands, then reality can finally meet the fictional world y'all know we're headed towards.

Personally I'd give Barbra my vote:

Excluding the states where mail-in is the only way to vote, will this be mandatory across the country or do we know yet? Thanks

The donor is right about Bass’s distinctive appeal: Probably no other person alive would be the subject of a column by the conservative columnist George Will calling for Biden to pick her as “transitional leadership to get the world’s oldest party, and the world’s oldest democracy, to calmer days,” and also be described to me by Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota as not only “a colleague, but a dear friend.”

This makes so much more sense to me than Harris, Rice, Warren, etc.

No news on the Dem front lately. Not even a short list of VP candidates.

So, I'll drop this here to fill the lull in Dem news....

LOUIE GOHMERT: 'Democrats must change name or be barred from House due to racist past'

U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, of Tyler, is calling on the U.S. House of Representatives to ban Democrats and any "organization or political party that ever publicly supported slavery or the Confederate States of America.
...
I introduced a privileged resolution in the House calling upon Congress to acknowledge the indecorous history of the Democratic Party. I asked that the Speaker of the House be instructed to ban any political organization or political party that ever publicly supported slavery or the Confederate States of America.
...
The liberal mob is out in full force demanding that schools, sports teams, music artists, military installations, and even food products change their names if they have the slightest reference to any persons or events deemed unacceptable and offensive to the groupthink of the Marxist left.

Democrats argue that they are compelled to take these extreme actions because of “systemic racism” in America, all while conveniently pinning blame on Republicans and conservatives. This revisionist history tells a story that simply has no basis in historical fact. Their efforts are a veiled attempt to erase the Democratic Party’s own culpability, which for decades, if not centuries, was the ardent political advocate for discrimination and racism in our nation.

...
For instance, when Republicans overwhelmingly supported the 14th (96-98% Reps for, 0% Dems for) and 15th (100% Reps for, 0% Dems for) Amendments, which recognized former slaves as citizens and granted them, as citizens, the right to vote, every single Democrat in Congress voted against their passage and, at times, blocked passage to the shame of the good done in our country’s history.
...
“The Jim Crow laws were enacted by Democrat legislatures and signed into law by Democrat governors. It could not have been otherwise, since there were virtually no Republicans in positions of authority in state governments in the South after the end of Reconstruction in 1877.”
...
when Republicans steadfastly supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Democrats filibustered the bill for 75 calendar days. Republicans in Congress expended great effort to protect the basic rights promised to minorities in America by our nation’s founders. During his 14-hour speech filibustering the Civil Rights Act, Democratic Senator Robert Byrd (a known KKK recruiter) proclaimed, “Men are not created equal today, and they were not created equal in 1776. Men and races of men differ in appearance, ways, physical power, mental capacity, creativity, and vision.”
...
On June 18th of this year, Speaker Nancy Pelosi ordered the removal of portraits from the Capitol building honoring four previous Speakers of the House—all of whom were Democrats. That was a good start on the job that she should now finish if she is going to avoid blatant hypocrisy.

Throughout America’s history, Republicans have fought to repeal Jim Crow laws, desegregate schools, and promote racial equality in America. In recent years, Republicans, including President Trump, have continued this fight by working valiantly to lift Americans of all races out of poverty through pro-growth economic policies that have done more to help the plight of the impoverished than any administration. Prior to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment rates for minorities were at record lows with employment at record highs.

Efforts by Democrats to destroy all public traces of their own history of supporting slavery, the Confederacy, and segregation in an attempt to shift blame onto Republicans must no longer go unchallenged. It is time for Democrats to play by their own rules, and accept the standards they have forced onto everyone else. They must divest themselves of their name that has denied so many the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Their recent actions demand nothing less. Instead of canceling our culture and history, it’s time to #CancelDemocrats."

Racist as fuck.

Leave it to a party of failure to drop the ball big time with a thirteen point lead.

YES PEOPLE DO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN KOREANS AND CHINESE PEOPLE you are LIVING IN A DREAM WORLD to think otherwise, Biden.

Trump knows better and that's because he's not senile. Trump is evil and lucid.... not senile and racist (but perhaps not terribly evil / treasonous).

Either way I wish Biden would grow some brain cells so I don't have 4 more years of MAGA :(

That'd be an unbeatable VP nominee....but would the Dems go for it?

lol, I can see the Dems refusing because they associate Jesus with the right, meanwhile Jesus is campaigning on all the points their platform pretends to support, and the Repubs are split down the middle, the ones who aren't religious decry him as a socialist, and the religious support him because he's fucking Jesus. He wins by a narrow margin, and then the religious right turns on him when he starts letting all the refugees come unto him, preaches to love everyone, and distributes wealth from the rich to the poor. They move to impeach him on moral grounds, citing his policies that are blatantly against the teachings of Republican Jesus and as such, blasphemy.

Joe Biden's Plan to End Gun Violence | Joe Biden for President

Biden wants to severely limit how you can acquire guns, parts and ammo. Included in his 'plan' is:
(verbatim from Joe Biden.com)

End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions. Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.

Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Close the “hate crime loophole.”
Biden will enact legislation prohibiting an individual “who has been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, or received an enhanced sentence for a misdemeanor because of hate or bias in its commission” from purchasing or possessing a firearm.

Create an effective program to ensure individuals who become prohibited from possessing firearms relinquish their weapons.

Reinstate the Obama-Biden policy to keep guns out of the hands of certain people unable to manage their affairs for mental reasons.

Reduce stockpiling of weapons
. In order to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.

As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.

Prohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms.

Put America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are 'smart guns'.

Hold adults accountable for giving minors access to firearms, regardless of whether the minor actually gains possession of the firearm.

TACKLE URBAN GUN VIOLENCE with targeted, evidence-based community interventions.

Breaking some of these down:

Create an effective program to ensure individuals who become prohibited from possessing firearms relinquish their weapons.
We're assuming this is pointed at felons, correct? There is the conservative push back of who defines 'prohibited' (ie, the line can be moved from felon to christian to left handed to whatever). I'm more concerned with why Biden hasn't done shit about this in the 40+ years he's been in DC. Of course, there is the practical problem of getting guns from felons, when most of those weapons are sold on the black market and untraceable. You have no idea who has them or where they got them from. We're all for de-arming the gangs and shit, but good look trying to actually do that.

Reinstate the Obama-Biden policy to keep guns out of the hands of certain people unable to manage their affairs for mental reasons.
Hard to argue against this one, but I can see conservatives again arguing 'who draws the line, and does it move?'

Close the “hate crime loophole.” Biden will enact legislation prohibiting an individual “who has been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, or received an enhanced sentence for a misdemeanor because of hate or bias in its commission” from purchasing or possessing a firearm.
No argument from me.

Put America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are 'smart guns'.
Another attempt at gun control that will effect legal gun owners, not criminals as they continue to arm themselves off the black market. It'll make legal guns less usable for criminals (until the system is bypassed), and likely cut down on accidental deaths (kids messing around). But I see huge pushback coming on this.

Hold adults accountable for giving minors access to firearms, regardless of whether the minor actually gains possession of the firearm.
No argument here.

TACKLE URBAN GUN VIOLENCE with targeted, evidence-based community interventions.
Again, 40+ years in DC and what has he (or anyone) done to date about this? And how, exactly, does he expect 'evidence-based community interventions' to materialize? Armed neighborhood watches?

These two old men have seem to suffer from Alzheimers or something along those lines. Maybe people should start electing candidates who are 40 instead of 70 year olds who think the world is still 1950.
