To suggest that Bernie is a hypocrite for having self-made $2 million shows a gross lack of understanding of his platform.
Is it though?

He doesn't give a shit about actually ending poverty or homelessness. He's not for all drug legalization. I can't get behind someone like that. Even most libertarians don't go that far and that's why the guy I vote for in the primaries rarely (*cough* never) wins.

If you had lived the life I have (and I sincerely wish NO ONE EVER HAS TO!!!) I think you might begin to understand why I'm a Libertarian, why the average Libertarian is poorer than their Repub/centrist-Dem counterparts typically, etc. [I am finding contradicting information online to what my understanding was, but 30-90 is a wide range and many are making much more on both sides of the fence]. Big $ loves the 2 party system. And the 2 party system sucks up to the big $. Libertarians are for real election reform.

Andrew Yang just said on the H3 Podcast that certain campaigns were in contact with the debate organizers ahead of time "to talk about what sort of attack they want to level on the stage". And that the networks "help create that opportunity".

Basically referencing the Harris/Biden hit job.

Are you surprised? Do you still want to support the 2 party system?

Of course you do. Suck it up ;) it's not that bad.

The primaries aren't fixed. Your perception of your options is. You don't have to vote for people you don't believe in. You don't have to vote for the 2 party system as it has so terribly failed both of us.

(Late to the party but wanted to reply... this was in response to me saying Bernie is only wealthy because of his book)

The only people suggesting that being wealthy is wrong are extreme leftists like tathra. NO ONE running for president is trying to turn the country into Venezuela or say someone can't be wealthy. Bernie and others are suggesting we spend our tax dollars to benefit the people paying them instead of what we're doing now. Yes, I AM excusing his wealth. I hope to one day have a million dollars or 2, it would be great, I'd be able to invest it and live off the interest, spend my time doing things I love and benefitting other people. Having $2 million doesn't make you a bad person and it doesn't make Bernie a hypocrite in the slightest. My point with saying he only got rich from his book is that he's been a senator for a long time. In that time, he was only doing fine for himself, until he wrote a book and made money off of it. That shows he did not take bribes/etc from money interests unlike SO MANY other senators who end up hundreds of millions of dollars richer after their tenure as senators without actually producing something with their own hands except for bending over a table for corporations who pay them to serve their interests.

To suggest that Bernie is a hypocrite for having self-made $2 million shows a gross lack of understanding of his platform. He isn't saying and has never been saying that no one should be wealthy. He's simply been saying, hey, instead of spending the American taxpayer's money on wars, rich people, corporate tax breaks, and other stuff like that, let's put it towards making life easier for the people paying those fucking taxes. You know, the basis for taxation in the first place, the whole way and reason that a healthy society functions.

Russia stands to gain from our destabilization, as it seeks to become the dominant world power, as it has done for decades. I think it's pretty naive to think we have nothing to fear from Russia. I agree that we interfere with the world's electoral/governmental business too. Me expressing concern over Russia's doing it isn't me excusing us. We should stop too. But, being an American, I am concerned about Russia's interference in our process. I think it's only helping them out to keep suggesting Russia is our friendly ally and isn't doing anything to try to undermine our government and society.

Russia has a LOT more to fear from the USA and if you're not calling out the US' antagonistic and provocative behavior when it comes to Russia, then you are ignorant or have been propagandized.

The primaries aren't fixed? We know for a fact that they were fixed in 2016 when the DNC screwed over Bernie for the nomination. Did you forget or are you just ignorant? Nothing has changed since then, Democrats didn't rise up and demand reform/transparency so suck shit, they can enjoy the DNC screwing them over again and selecting a corporate candidate which will lose embarrassingly to Trump next year.

Fact. I'm still amazed that happened how it did.

... are you just ignorant? ... so suck shit,

Unnecessary.

And, we return to fact...at least, fact waiting to materialize, but yeah...I see this happening again.

I’m thinking Trump

Wouldn't these recent posts belong in the Trump thread? ?

= = = = =

On the topic of the DEM candidates  I'm wondering how long they allow the stage to be shared by the wannabes, and once they DO consolidate the platform who will take the lead (radical or centrist), how much their policies will have to shift to accommodate (keep) the voters of the remaining Dem base. Will the front runners truly be the people's choice, or the one(s) pushed forth by the power brokers behind the curtain.

Bernie's politics wouldn't have won. I don't think the DNC screwed Bernie over and I'm going to stand by my what you see to be willful ignorance.

Trump is a 2020 candidate, is he not?

All along I've been thinking this thread was about the Dems having candidates all over the place...but you're right. I'm an idiot. I could cling to the 'but Trump thread...' in a flailingly weak and pitiful manner, but I think I've proven how stupid I am for the time being.

Racist Grandpa for President! I don't care which one because they both lock up all the coloreds.

<-- sarcastic and probably why I'll vote 3rd party :\

If Biden doesn't get the nomination I can't imagine a Dem victory *shutters* I think Warren is too far left even though she SHOULD win the nomination. She's just overqualified compared to the others IMO and apparently Sanders and Warren are the only non-racist people from that generation running (lol) and we all know I'd prefer a Warren to a Sanders though I really couldn't see myself in good faith voting for either (even though I can at least respect them!)

And even if I don't support some/most of her ideas I'm very enthused about the fact she is PREPARED WITH PLANS. It won't take her 3+ years to focus on day 1 promises. Except maybe it still will LOL and if it does I'll be doing the "toldyaso dance".

Needless to say I think I'd probably want to see her in place, or O'Rourke but he's not polling well "HAVE YOU SEEN MY NUMBERS"

No need to worry guys, none of them have any chance.

^truth bombs. When will the Left distance themselves from such a toxic and oppressive ideology? The tyranny of compassion.
