Election 2020 The 2020 Candidates: Right, Left and Center!

Wish I could say I was surprised by this. :( I really wish he'd run Independent, then we could at least try to maybe break this 2-party system. I guess I'd rather have Biden than Trump, probably. Well it depends on who he picks as his vice president actually, as in all likelihood he would be replaced since he's losing his mind. I don't think he'll win in any case, but I think Bernie would have a chance, even as an Independent.
 
I'm not saying this necessarily means anything, but he didn't really endorse Biden. He simply said he'd be the Democratic nominee.

He DID say that they'd continue amassing delegates to have greater influence at the convention. I don't know what the rules are for running as an independent or how early he'd have to declare his candidacy, but I hope he keeps that as an option. If for no other reason than to scare Biden into making some promises.

I came to this god awful subforum today to tell yall as someone who normally doesn't vote left I am really disappointed by this. I was really hoping he'd get the nomination this year honestly, I don't like any of the Dem candidates at all and I would rather see someone outside of the usual suspects on both sides propped up by the corrupt establishments that own them make it to the election. It's a real shame and has done nothing but further disillusion me, which is really saying something because I'm considered a tinfoil hat person already.
 
Do you reckon Bernie will buy a second lake house after keeping everyone's donations?
 
Such a lame criticism of him, the guy made some money selling a book and bought a vacation house. He never claimed people shouldn't be able to make money and become wealthy off their own work. He's been in politics his whole career and never taken money from big money interests, and in his 70s, he reached what, like $1.2 million? Because of a successful book? My grandma bought a lake house like 60 years ago when she had the money for it, we've been enjoying it my whole life. I see nothing wrong with buying a lake house with money you made off your own work. And there is no precedent whatsoever to suggest Bernie would keep campaign money for himself.

if there's anyone left who isn't disillusioned in our political system by now, they're either part of the establishment or just hopelessly ambivalent.

Bernie is passionate and sincere, which is all I need, personally. Unfortunately, the masses need someone younger, better looking, preferably male to help the socialism medicine go down better. (Talking about the liberal masses here as Republicans clearly have no requirement on age or beauty) .

what would be really fucking fantastic would be if some of you center right populist/anti war types would join up with the Bernie bros and independents if he decides to run this fall. Trump is using you guys. As much as you like his personality and the way he trash talks all the people you hate, he isn't really doing shit for you. The economy was on the upswing since before he got there. All he does is tweet and play golf.

Believe me I'm not that into Trump either this go around. After seeing him bail all these businesses out I lost the tiny shred of faith I had in what he claimed he stood for (first time I've ever admitted to another person I voted for him because I want to have a real meaningful discussion here for once in my life). I supported him for the same reason I support Bernie, he was an outsider and he ran on the platform of supporting the average person and not a political party and did it believably. That one factor means more to me than left or right or anywhere in between. Like I said I was thoroughly disillusioned before, and am now somehow even more disappointed. Didn't think that was possible until today.

Hell I might've even came out for Bernie this year even after Hillary Clinton and the Left made a fool of me last election by taking him out when it suited them. I voted Bernie for the primary then that went down and I went with Trump for the election. I went with my principle despite how much of a fool he is.

I get where you're coming from but I don't think Biden beat him in any sense of the word. I think the DNC realized that he was actually gonna win with or without them this time and took him out forcibly somehow. Every liberal person I know came out for him in earnest this year and hates Biden, so Bernie dropping out this time stinks like shit to high heaven of some kind of blackmail or threat.

Kinda like how the right is constantly brushing aside the horrible disgusting personal insults directed to veterans/war heroes some of which are members of his own party that any draft dodging democrat or liberal would get publicly crucified for.
