Election 2020 The 2020 Candidates: Right, Left and Center!

On foreign policy the Trump administration is a mixed bag IMO. In some ways he's actually done some things I've been surprised by, like talks with the Taliban etc, and just generally his rhetoric about exiting the wars everyone hates, but in other ways it's just same shit different day, like some of the destabilization campaign stuff in Venezuela, and the overall relationship with Israel and Saudi Arabia, etc

It's an interesting aspect of his presidency, though...I think if Clinton were to be elected in 2016 we'd be in a war by now. She definitely was going to perpetuate the imperial presidency of Bush and Obama. There were times over the past 4 years when I thought that Trump was for sure going to get us into a needless conflict but so far it hasn't materialized.

isnt it nice to hear a private conversation of a presidential candidate and not be embarrassed or ashamed of it? He's the same guy on that phone call as he is in public. No locker room talk , no soliciting foreign powers to investigate political opponents...so refreshing.

That's all well and good but he's completely full of shit with no inclination to give details for his outlandish promises. He has consistently voted pro-war and flip-flopped majorly on issues to pander to radicals.

Also he is literally accepting the help of a foreign political activist to influence the US presidential election during this phonecall...

Nice reach. One has to consider the point of the phone call and who is involved, so you're trying to compare apples and zucchini.
 
The mental gymnastics and projection to avoid facing the hypocrisy is real.

You either have to admit this is also wrong, or admit that the attacks against Trump were baseless.

Because your questions are based on a false premise and are not relevant to reality. You can't cover up hypocrisy by asking questions like that.

So America's election choices seem to be narrowed to the following:

An elderly millionaire Jewish communist
An elderly billionaire Jewish capitalist
An elderly billionaire who calls himself the King of Israel.
 
Word on the street is that Bloomberg plans on attacking primarily Bernie tonight.
 
I have to say, I'm getting saturated with Bloomberg ads (mostly on the radio with my hour commute each way), and I think they are pretty effective. For one, I'm not hearing much about anyone else. For two, they are clean, polished, and generally not attacking anyone directly (only Trump, and mostly without direct reference) - the message is more about building an achievable (yet vague) promise, which is what most Dems have lacked to date.

One thing that stood out to me was the back burner media commentary about how Obama won't come out and endorse anyone. ANYONE. And yet, there was a 30-60sec commercial for Bloomberg that was 95% Obama speaking, praising Bloomberg on accomplishments and being the right kind of guy while working as mayor of NYC. Obama isn't endorsing him, these are quotes from the past, which presumably are fair game to use in promotional commercials and Obama can't deny them. It comes off wholly sounding like Obama is endorsing Bloomberg today for President.

So, the narrative has been Trump rallies are dangerous, if you aren't part of the deplorable mob you are putting yourself at risk. Meanwhile, Dems have made a tradition of somehow dancing on the line of 'inclusiveness' while constantly striving to label everyone so that label can be included (paradoxical to a bit). The point being, the party of 'acceptance' was a safer environment than the redneck hillbillies at a rally for the divisive and racist Trump. With that in mind, riddle me this, Batman - where are all the violent acts at Trump events? And meanwhile, at a Bernie rally:

It's somewhat fuzzy who initiated the violence, the white guy or the BlackGunsMatter guy. Each article leans a direction and paints the other as the instigator. Nobody is pointing out the undeniable fact that there was violence at a Bernie rally by Bernie supporters upon one another. Insanity.

I'm still expecting the DNC to kick Bernie to the curb before long. If that happens (again), will he finally go independent? Would he still try to get on the ballot as independent this year? Is that even possible? Would he try for 2024 as an independent?

Would it rip the Socialist following out from the Dem base as they follow Bernie? How much support does he really have, and how much of that goes with him if he's out of the Dem party?
