Good god what a moronic thing to say... like motherfucker, YOU go back!

Native Americans must hate us so much. It hurts my soul thinking about what we did to them. Thinking about their culture and way of life basically completely destroyed. It's disgusting. :|

i'm not blaming trump for these incidents - obviously the people throwing these insults are to blame. but they clearly feel emboldened by president trump and his divisive and hateful rhetoric is a factor.

alasdair

I blame him. 😝

In all seriousness, many people look to “famous” individuals for behavior to model. Look at how many people in politics now talk like Trump now about the greatest this and the best that...look at Lindsay Graham.
Then ask any parent how much fun it is to explain why Trump saying “bullshit” doesn’t make it okay (I’ve heard 2 stories about it from two different people).
These are just very mild examples language issues around Trump. I don’t want to think about the more serious ones.

Frankly I find anyone telling anyone to "go back where they came from" to be disgusting.

It's not even just a racial thing. It often is, but it isn't exclusively. It's a pathetic low tactic to try and shut down an argument easily without having to actually argue anything.

Also the "if you don't like it, get out" thing. It's the most undemocratic drivel of an argument that there is. The entire point of democracy is that if you don't like it, you can protest and effect change. Protest against directions you do not want your country to be taking is the most patriotic act you can do. And telling someone to leave if they have a problem is extremely unpatriotic.

I find that statement "go back to where you came from " especially funny when it comes to Americans. You're all from Europe/africa/Asia and a very young country.

Yeah it's such an ignorant thing to say. I'm sure the native Americans die a little inside any time they hear someone say it. I mean FFS, even for Mexico, we took over California/Texas/etc, that used to be part of Mexico. It's such hypocrisy.
