If this is about troops getting PTSD or dying, then Trump just moved about 1,000 to 2,000 (I’ve seen varying numbers) troops (see article below) and deployed 1,800 more. So no I don’t think it’s some great effort.
Let’s be real. He had no strategic plan; he just jerked the troops out of Syria after a chat with Erdogan. There’s no plan in place for these troops going to Iraq yet. Not good.
And apparently these troops are simply being moved; they’ll be sent to Iraq for death and PTSD, and I’m not making light of it. All Trump did was destabilize Syria and desert our allies, and that had a real human cost attached to it.

Why are the Kurds our allies? Why are we supporting them annexing territory of countries that already exist? What do the PKK really get up to, like murdering Christians? (although I guess many modern-day liberals would be completely fine with Christians being murdered).

Truth is truth regardless of where it came from. The Kurds are our allies because we made an agreement with them to do our dirty work against ISIS and in return we would back them. Turkey coming into Northern Syria is a lot worse for Christians than the US Kurdish backed forces ever were. Turkey has slaughtered Christians forever and their use of the Syrian National army and ISIS rebels is a going to kill way more Christians. Now Turkey would be(will be) carving out a swath of the country. Your arguments don't even make sense. I would come to expect that from a lot of Trump supporters but come on dude. Your arguments are becoming extremely weak.

It's a Trumpster fire is what it is. Trump has weakened our position severely in the middle east. I could almost respect it (though not really because the Kurds have been strong allies to us against ISIS and we made them a promise and are now backing up, ruining our credibility to everyone else in the future), if the troops we "brought home" were actually coming home... but no, they're going to Iraq. We just gave Turkey and Russia exactly what they wanted, and gave a huge FUCK YOU to allies. The fuck was he thinking? Most likely he just wasn't, as usual. But a conspiracy-minded person could easily wonder at the fact that this has been such an obviously stupid move for us, while playing right into Russia's hand.
