This is a front/cover story for everyone to eat up and throw their support behind HK. I don't agree with China's extradition bill, but that's not enough reason to ignore the US' direct involvement here against China.

So? Most people are idiots. Hundreds of millions of people are amoral assholes. What a large number of people believe is completely irrelivent.

Besides, it's not a game I'd say is smart to play as a trump supporter anyway as I suspect more people hate him than love him. Of course in itself that proves nothing either.

Sure, same reason why a lot of people support him at home. Because people are afraid of globalization and change, afraid of the lowered standard of living, and he's pandered to that. My perception is that a whole lot more people do NOT support him abroad than do.

If the left pushed for harder rhetoric/outright lie telling, there would be a wonderful cascade of ideas/push back against the right without anyone having to go flex nuts in Portland. Just my 2c. The only thing that will win in 2020 is an equal to Trump (in probably every bad way or a comparable neutral/good way). No one seems to fit the bill on the left ticket thus far.
