Trump is a mob boss, says Maher.

Bill Maher thinks President Donald Trump’s administration is less like a reality show and “more like a Scorsese movie.”

On Friday’s broadcast of “Real Time,” the comedian broke down why he believes Trump is like a mob boss in a Martin Scorsese film. He said the president has surrounded himself in the White House with “toxic trash” figures from New York City — such as Michael Cohen, Rudy Giuliani and Anthony Scaramucci.

This administration “is a protection racket” and “everything Trump does is modeled on the mob,” said Maher. “Who does Trump surround himself with? Disposable lawyers and idiot members of his own family. Who’s his worst enemy? The FBI. Where does his money come from? He’s in construction.”

“He’s so much like a don, his name is literally Don,” Maher added. “What part of this isn’t mob-like?”

He couldn't have been more correct.

But what if you consider Australia's treatment of refugees to be utterly appalling?

Not sure i follow the question. What if you're an Australian who considers Australia's treatment of refugees appalling, do you have a leg to stand on criticizing other countries? If that's the question, then I'd say.. Not so much of you're saying it in the company of people from those other countries.

I mean, it's like if you're from a first world country complaining about poverty, if you wanna do that to other members of that first world country that's one thing, but saying it to people from places much worse off is kinda bullshit. You gotta pick your audience. If you're gonna complain about X, don't do it about other countries around citizens of those countries if your country is among the worst offenders.

Trump threatens to use US trade talks to force NHS to pay more for drugs

Donald Trump is ready to use trade talks to force the National Health Service to pay more for its drugs as part of his scheme to "put American patients first?.

Mr Trump has claimed that the high costs faced by US patients are a direct result of other countries? health services ?freeloading? at America?s expense.

Alex Azar, the US Health and Human Services Secretary, has said Washington will use its muscle to push up drug prices abroad, to lower the cost paid by patients in the United States.

"On the foreign side, we need to, through our trade negotiations and agreements, pressure them," Azar said on CNBC.

"And so we pay less, they pay more. It shouldn't be a one-way ratchet. We all have some skin in this game."

He continued: "The reason why they are getting better net prices than we get is their socialised system."

In the UK, prices are dictated in part by National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) which has been successful in securing discounts for some of the costliest drugs.

Single-payer government-run health services like the NHS are able to use their negotiating muscle to pay far lower prices than their fragmented insurance-based private American counterparts, to the fury of the US president.

So in essence, his argument is that because the USA has the worst healthcare system in the developed world, he'll try to make everyone else's just as expensive and shoddy, rather than fight for US patients? Truly vile.

You mean this?
He continued: "The reason why they are getting better net prices than we get is their socialised system."

Or the fact that his agenda is basically to rob the people blind?

The US doesn't have a global monopoly on the production of all drugs... why is everyone panicking?

While true, the US has a 340million vs 65 million people/market in terms of any trade agreement, so the UK is obviously going to be very much the underdog with very limited influence.

And the way these agreements are typically written, it will empower all pharm companies to override the bargaining agreements, not just US pharma cos.

It should become immediately clear Donald Trump is still in communication with his sons about how to invest in the stock market. He deliberately tries to stomp on Amazon's stock price so he can buy, wait for it to go up, sell, then stomp on it again, repeat the cycle.

Pharmaceutical indexes are up, and he's still holding onto the stocks because he's handing them even more on a silver platter.

Regardless, it is sickening that he's using the price of medicines as a bargaining chip.
Fucking revolting old man.

Fucking revolting old man.

We have laws in place to prevent people like him from becoming president and then stomping all over the economy to gain money by continuing to speculate on the market.

It's unfortunate the DOJ, FBI etc are too corrupt to do anything about it. They have their own hands too deep in different honey pots.

I agree, Trump is a criminal and I'm waiting until he's out of office and then soon in a prison cell.

Mueller: I will Not Indict Trump, per Giuliani
https://truepundit.com/mueller-i-will-not-indict-trump-per-giuliani/

President Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said Wednesday that special counsel Robert Mueller has told the president's legal team he will follow Justice Department guidance and not seek an indictment against Trump.

Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller's investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president's team. That has forced Trump?s legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel - a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo. Giuliani told Fox News that Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

"This case is essentially over," Giuliani said. "They're just in denial."
