Heh...I guess it came off that way. I'm Thanking my state had some awesome Cigna policies and I signed up early!
Fuck obamacare! I used to pay $60/month for insurance prior to obummercare.

My kind...heh

Same way I can be pissed off if someone gives me a hundred dollars then punches me in the face?

Sure, I have a hundred dollars now, but I didn't exactly agree to be punched in the face for it. Maybe I'd have rathered forgo being punched in the face?

Yeah it's not a perfect analogy but you get the idea. :)

Trump's chief economic adviser resigns

Gary Cohn , the chief economic adviser to US President Donald Trump, will also leave the White House in the coming weeks, to join a series of resignations from senior officials in the Washington government that are undermining the president's hard core. .

His abandonment, confirmed on Tuesday by the White House, is announced after his strong disagreements with the billionaire governor over the imposition of tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum, and just days after Trump confirmed that he will carry out his plans about.

Although the government has not confirmed that Cohn has ended its stage in the US Administration because of its differences with Trump in tariff matters , it is public knowledge that the economic adviser is still opposed to such a measure.

The president announced last week that he will impose tariffs of 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminum imports, despite opposition from a large part of his party and Cohn himself.

"Gary has been my chief economic adviser and did an excellent job of directing our agenda, helping make historic tax cuts and reforms, and launching the US economy once again," Trump said in a statement released by the presidential office.

As much as I wish it was true, Trump isn't a governor as quoted in the post above.
I wish. :\

I posted an article about him resigning but all anyone cares about is porn stars and stuff.

Wait until you want some bourbon! You'll see!!

the administration continues to hum along like a finely oiled machine...

alasdair

LOL, like a train wreck that won't finally wreck. :D

I hope this is just a purge of crappy human nature and we come out a much finer race of mammals that care about each other.

For those Federal crimes these guys can pardon themselves. So at the state level if any tax or rico issues come up no human has ever escaped the consequences. It is not only the "little people" that pay taxes. (right Leona Helmsley?)

Eric Schneiderman will be the wreck unless there was no foul play.....yeah right. :D

Again, I hope this is a purge to get to a better place. I think we all deserve better. We all do.

How can you say "fuck Obamacare" when you're getting free health care because of it...?

The idea that health insurance used to cost me $60/month not even 8 years ago...now it has been $250/month from my employer....I had to cut my hours so as to not qualify for my expensive employer insurance, thus allowing me to qualify for a govt subsidy to pay for the $425/month policy I choose on the open market.

Madness.

Interesting article from The Independent suggesting Trump might really be in line for a Nobel Peace prize if he manages to get NK to drop the nuclear arms:

If Trump succeeds where Obama failed on North Korea, maybe he will get Nobel Peace Prize – and deserve it

Scepticism in Washington abounds. But we wouldn’t be where we are now were it not for the extreme pressure applied by Trump, pressure, by the way, which Obama chose not to apply

Not at all. Health Insurance is a means for market-based healthcare to exist. Choice is a good thing! Otherwise, we could wind up with a system like in Canada or UK, or worse....the VA! No thanks, plus I have no faith any of the current lawmakers in Congress to take full control of what is almost 1/5th our economy. Just..... No.

when you gauge it based on quality, efficiency, access, equity, and life health, the u.s. is worse! worse than canada and the uk. and worse than australia, germany, the netherlands and new zealand who all also have universal healthcare. (source: the commonwealth fund).

but, in 12016, michael neidorff and bruce broussard made $22 million and $19.7 million so i imagine they'd like to thank you.

I know Alisdairm, and I can add to it too...

For me...more bureaucracy, less choice, longer waits, and who can even imagine the privacy issues: I have a laundry list of why govt seizing control of such a huge part of our economy and nationalizing it scares me.

At best, you could convince me to keep obamacare and hand out more of the subsidies. I've never received healthcare in the UK or Canada...Even if we are 11th I've never had a bad experience personaly. No way to compare my experience to other places. Also, every time I look into the subject I read of long waits for non emergency services, treatment not allowed, and other serioua problems with the health care systems in UK and Canada.

Ya know...or not. Sure, give us government subsidized healthcare. What could possibly go wrong? I bet the US would suddenly be #1 if only the government paid for it.

I guess some folks will never get used to the fact Trump says stuff. I found his speech entertaining, especially when he did his "presidential" bit. It is obvious (to me) he loves to "troll" and make people squirm and he enjoys it.

Even if he really believes drug dealers should get the death penalty...he is not a king or dictator. It doent matter what he thinks. He can't even enforce immigration policy or issue an executive order without some judge in CA blocking him. Basically, get used to it.

Actually...stopped from what? Speaking? What would you stop him for? What should happen to him? Just trying to make discussion.

Don't get me wrong, he made me cringe often last year. But with the tax cut, and roaring economy, the likes of which I have never seen in my adult life...I don't know why anyone would want to stop him. GWB gave me a small tax cut, Obama sent me a check, but I've never seen real actual money I made....stay with me as I did the past month (with the tax cut.). I can't remember how much Obama gave me in the "stimulus"...the fact I cannot remember suggests it was crumbs. Brilliant politics.

I guess I also identify with the fact that he says silly things...I do the same from a time to time.
