Chronic THC increases NAc dopamine D1-D2 receptor heteromer expression and function, which results in increased dynorphin expression and KOR activation. These changes plausibly reduce dopamine release, to trigger anxiogenic- and anhedonic-like behaviors after daily THC administration that persist for at least 7 days after drug cessation.

No more “cannabis doesn’t have withdrawals” bullshit! I personally get them really bad.. When I went to rehab the detox couldn’t fathom why I was still sick after 24hrs, as if one should magically be better.

I used to get them badly as well, but I was always under the impression it was mostly psychological because I could always overcome the symptoms with mental fortitude and a positive attitude, unlike other dependencies. Interesting to finally see some science on it.

The reduced appetite always sucked, though, and couldn't get passed that.
