I have met soooo many people in the last few months at clubs and raves and I got to thinking about the stuff we talk about. What are the first things you talk about to someone you have never layed eyes on before?
I guess one of the first things everybody seems to do is ask "whats your name? What have you had?"
Familiarity right?
From there I guess the natural progression is to talk about the drugs going around... "i hear this pill is good; don't go in for that one; have you tried..."
The conversation can lead to what everybody does outside the scene... and I tell you there is such diversity... from pannel beaters to teachers to pilots to computer programmers...
It is odd but i have often wondered what we have in common... it is so easy to talk and easy to listen but when you have something in common... wow.
I have found that i have been reliving my childhood and adolesence in conversation... "do you remember Monkey Magic?... how about the red and the blue...do you remember when this was in fashion?...Hey do you remember fondu?"
Anyway, after all this rambling, i guess i want to know what you guys think the most common conversation starters are... and also the wierdest ones....
(I remember Rhumba coming up to me once with a cigarette lighter in his hand and asked me if it meant anything... as scatterbrained as i was i said noooo... and then he asked me what he was holding and i replied 'oh thats just a blue ligh... ooooohhhhh *recognition kicks in*")
Also what do you find you have in common with people - is it just the drugs and the musik or do you find people out there that have more in common?
Ok, well i will be going now...
Peace and love to all the friends I have met and am yet to meet - you make the nights very interesting

nah trust me you dont want to do that, seriously guys, spanking a munkE isn't half as fun as it sounds

I'm sorry, I think I got confused.. finger-painting and necrophilia in the same sentence? eeuuhhh..
wink.gif

anyway.. yeah i love talking to people at parties.. i find it quite fun to spin shit with someone. but its scary though, when you run into them again at some other party and you're off your head again and they come up to you like "hey, remember me?" and so i have to reply, "of course, man! how are ya??!"

You're all insane and I'm disgusted to be associated with any of you!
And where are you plastikman when I want drugs eh? Ya never offered me a line!
I'm not even gonna bother offering a serious response because you're all obviously too immature to appreciate it... You make me sick!
Oh yeah, TC, Rhumba did the same thing to me with the blue lighter, but I was so trashed that he actually had to tell me what it was, it didn't click at all *hangs head in shame*
Ok but seriously, when I'm talking to strangers I usually start off with something that's going on nearby... If the track is building up and going crazy then its easy, otherwise it'll be "hey check out that guy/girl, they're an awesome dancer!" or "doesn't that image on the wall look cool?" or the good ol' "hey, how's ya night going?" ... and then after that move onto music, occupation, interests, etc (I tend to stay away from drugs for a bit, I really hate it when someone comes up to me and one of the first things they say is "what have ya had?" (unless I look really trashed, then I guess its expected

)) but of course at some point the conversation always leads to fingerpainting (CC: I knew I wasn't the only one!)

Common Sense isn't all that common

cmon guys, u all forgot one of the main conversation starters... "omg those pants/top/skirt is AWESOME! where'd ya get it!?"
i cant think of any outstandingly strange starts to conversations.... most of mine start with the normal shit i guess... but i find heaps of people i have tonns in common with. i've talked to people about everything from cars to american indians to favourite pets.
one thing i have noticed though, do many of u run into people u know but havent seen in ages? or people u went to primary school with? and often when u see them, they are people u wouldnt ever have expected to see in the rave scene?
well that turns out to be one of my convo startes... "isnt ur name ______? diddnt u go to _____ school? OMG it *IS* u!"
anyway thats my ramble

sassssss

"The nature of monkey was irrepressible!"
MONKEY MAGIC?!?! That show rocks!
Get me talking about that, astroboy, battle of the planets, and star blazers... perhaps some Dr. Who for good messure, next time you see me.
See the trend? I am a product of ABC television
smile.gif

anyway...
Monkey Magic has been released on DVD!!!
Sorry that was a bit OT but when are my posts really on topic anyway...
What do I talk about? I try and get to know the other person a little better without invading too much, and some times can be a little hard. But yeah what they do, why they do it and if they enjoy it and about their lives... people kind of fascinate me. I am a weirdo and like to hear what normal people think

Pilly... you and me at SSU are going to talk G-Force (and the flaming pheonix bird which was their ship), Voltron (both series) and the saga of the starship Yamamto (or somethinglike that) and its WAVE MOTION GUN which kicks ass over anything including the Death Star.
Sings: We must be strong and brave, our home we've got to save, if we don't in just one year... mother earth will soon dissapear!!!! OUR STAR BLAZERS
To those that have no idea what I'm going on about... more's the pity!

pillgrim hehe battle of the planets..mannnn i wish i could see taht show again it was so fucking good..thats the one with the giant fire bird, the phoenix right?...... now if that comes out on dvd im coming round to your place straight away.......mmm cartoons ..tho now soma you have confused me cause is battle of the planets and g-force the same thing?....arghhhh......these shows and stuff liek star blazers were on about a year or two before my memory fully kicks in..not until he-man and voltron and transformers can i really vividly remeber the shows...dammit...oh and yesterday i also found a place to buy a transformers t shirt woohooo...so ill have to be getting one of those very soon..and voltron t shirts....the cartoons never stop rollin...
