Taking Small Doses of Opiates. Am I alone?

For over four years I have used Opiates as a means of reducing ADHD associated behaviors, quell anxiety, improve mood and promote relaxation. I've found that small doses of around 1-2 milligrams of Oxycodone throughout the day achieve these goals. It seems that as long as I dose in tiny amounts, I can use as much Oxy as I please, without any withdrawal symptoms. All I read are horror stories of dependency and suffering from users of Opiates, but I have actually become much more productive and outgoing. Am I alone? Do any Bluelighters use Opiates in small quantities, or have a regiment for keeping their overall tolerance down? And have any of you benefited from Opiate use? (other than the obvious painkilling properties)

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said "small" doses, were you?!

Really interesting that you have had such a positive ongoing experience from such amounts. When you say 1-2mg of oxy throughout the day... what do you mean, exactly?

How many times a day do you dose? And how long do you wait between doses?

I didn't think a dose that small would have any kind of effect.

Well... I suppose I did this during my first year after experiencing opioids, however I used Hydrocodone. I absolutely used it to treat my ADHD, typically using between 5-7.5 mg. It gave me the motivation to do work and just, in general, be social. Plus, seeing as I was later officially diagnosed with ADHD, I know that the condition was there. I would even contend that, at least before you develop a tolerance, they work better stopping the symptoms than amphetamines do.

Efficacy aside though, you should know that you're playing with fire. I, along with millions of others, thought I could use it responsibly and, more importantly, not use it irresponsibly, but was wrong. Considering how I still use opiates everyday, I strongly recommend you don't go down that road.

Don't mean to rant at you or doubt your self-control, I just know I couldn't do it and, speaking from experience, the consequences are severe when you fail.

^^. I concur. The negatives, in the long run, far out weigh the positives. I've been relatively responsible, and careful, but I'm still an addict, and the negative effects of this show themselves every day.
