Hello. I have been smoking daily all summer long and now I have decided to take a small break to rebuild my tolerance. I was curious on what things I should eat/drink? Even maybe some dietary supplements? I will be doing exercise as well as drinking only water (water is all i drink anyways! :))

Take daily vitamins and drink and eat healthy. Also some exercice would be very good and help you unwind. Hope this helped

exercise helps a shitton when taking a break from marijuana.

lots of fruit never hurt either.

Im taking a break as well, after a few good months of smoking alot of weed it loses its magic
How long should one take off to lose some tolerance, hopefully not too long lol

I am hearing/reading it is from 4-31 days... possibly longer for the magic to come back. I think i lost the magic with psychedelics so Im breaking from that too for a while. ANywho! GL man! its my first day and it is tough. I miss mary :'(

What gives you the impression that what you should eat when not smoking is any different than what you should eat when smoking? Cannabis doesn't cause any kind of vitamin or nutritional deficiencies.

I am also on a tolerance break...sux dont it haha.

i think what he is trying to say is what can he eat so that his tolerance drops faster. People have said detoxing helps but i would have to disagree seeing as the thc is stored in your fat.

Alot of people suggest exercise to sweat it all out and burn the fat or even fasting a bit to lose the weight (just a idea, i don't know your body so be careful with that).

But yea sounds like your doing the right thing in terms off making your tolerance drop faster - water and exercise.

Good Luck to you aswell...i know im struggling haha and im only on day 4

Well the stress and appetite loss/nausea could certainly contribute. Also lack of sleep and general restlessness take a fair bit of energy. Its different for everyone though.

When I stop for a bit, I find fruit juices, rice and nice salads feel good both physically and aesthetically goood :)

I don't really see food or supplements managing to lower your tolerance. Since the level of cannabinoids left in your system or stored in fat is so far below an effective dose I can't see them effecting your return to baseline, especially since the body produces natural CB agonists that are always present meaning your CB receptors are always getting stimulated to some degree.

Pharmacologically the only thing I'd expect might have any real ability to speed up a tolerance reduction would be one of the synthetic CB1 antagonists that have been recently developed. It stands to reason that these drugs might be effective at lowering tolerance similar to how opioid competitive antagonists such as Naloxone have been shown to be effective at controlling or reducing opioid tolerance.

The only one that has emerged from clinical trials that I'm aware of is rimonabant, which Sanofi-Aventis began selling as an appetite suppressant in Europe under the name Acomplia. As a CB1 antagonist it created the anti-munchies. I believe they are no longer marketing or pursuing the drug due to possible side effects such as increased depression or suicidal thoughts, but I don't believe it was withdrawn, or at least I do know it is still available over the Internet.

I'm not suggesting its use, it seems like a pretty extreme measure to take just to save a little money on pot or to be able to get back to smoking a few weeks earlier. But I thought I'd mention it since it or others like Pfizer's SLV319 are the only things I'd expect to have a scientific basis for a tolerance reduction.

But you don't if you haven't stopped smoking?
