Target or Wal-mart?
I personally prefer target 220%x over.
I generally like the target selection and prices.

But on the other hand those 24 hour super- Wal-marts sure are nice.

I agree, Target is the place to go! I spend hours in there, I just went to our new SUPER Target on Saturday afternoon, it was beautiful!

But K-Mart is close to my house and they have Vicks inhalers, so I stop in there from time to time.

Wal-Mart
The Target near me in Deadland (Dadeland) is so undersupplied. Auto supplies, fugheddaboutit. I needed road flares and I went back to their auto parts section and they didn't even have the stupid triangle reflectors...and don't even think about extension cords...

If you have to take something back to Target, they want a receipt, original box, blood specimen, bla bla bla, etc. Wal-Mart will take anything back, no matter what. I bought a Sega Dreamcast from Target, that went bad a week after I got it. They wouldn't even exchange it. I took it to Toys R Us, told them that I bought it at Target, and they swapped out the defective part no questions asked. I bought a couple of games on the spot for being so cool about it. They've got my business on stuff like that from now on.
 
target rules because I can buy cheap clothes there that I dont mind destroying at work or while partying....plus you just have to love a place that, and maybe this is just in Miami, some families consider going to target and eating in the snack bar a dining out experience...

But of course their autoparts selection is very week. super KMART is good for that...

Pencil me as a supporter of Super Wal Mart. However, I have yet to venture to Super Target. I do like Target better than the regular Wal Mart, however, once they super sized Wal Mart, no store in America could compete. If only they sold whip cream charges at Wal Mart....

...and now, for an AUSTRALIAN perspective.
We have 3 major el cheapo department stores in Australia. Big W, K-Mart and Target.
Now, I think the way you guys are talking about K-Mart being the worst in the US, well I think our K-Mart must be like YOUR Walmart.
Saying that, K-Mart kicks Target's ass in the quality stock department. The BIG ASS K-Mart stores are the best. MAN, I could spend hours in there...a close second would be Big W, and then a shitty third would go to Target.
Although I MUST say, that I DO commend Target for their quality of advertising. There's nothing like a good bra fashioned out of a set of bulls-eye's, or little baby boy and girl bulls-eye's playing basketball with a bulls-eye, or a bulls-eye with grass stains on it that washes back to white EVERY time.
Shit. No wonder the advertising industry is so full of COKE. Look at the crap they come up with!

I like the Target selection of clothing...they get far more subversive than I would have ever believed if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes.
I got my Pillsbury Doughboy T-shirt there...imagine the Doughboy in jeans, underwear slightly showing ala Calvin Klein ads, with "Doughboy" written all along the undies elastic.
I also saw another shirt I HAD to have, but they were too small. It had 2 overlapping, vibrating, smiley faces (except they had straight lines for their mouths, no smile) with the caption: Post Party Syndrome.
THAT is what I'M talkin' about.

BTW mona, I don't think that K-Mart is any worse than Target or Wal-Mart, there is just a stigma in the U.S. about it b/c for so long it was considered to be where the "poor people" shopped. Wal-Mart would have probably had the same reputation, but a lot of them are open 24 hours, which the hip and mindless (translation: drug users) are attracted to.
