Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine Mega Thread v. 19

Ive been reading through some threads and I guess cimetidine increases the effects of buprenorphine due to the potential component added (cimetidine)
somehow it does something to the CYP3A4 enzyme in your liver, which is the enzyme that digest and or breaks down buprenorphine via the liver.

Anyone else do this on the regular. ?

Or every now and then?

Any exps.
real quick.
I know its wrong
thread sorry

I just copied and pasted the following because I didn't want to re type it lol.

Have you had any experiences

of cimetidine increasing buprenorphine effects, and or duration

injecting suboxone

I have been reading all of the comments about injecting suboxone and how many mgs to use. Swim had been on the sub.program for about 5yrs and but had only been completely off all other drugs for about 1yr. I think he got bored with Tyne steps and simply missed the banging process, so he recently started injecting his sub films again....he doesdoes 8mgs everyday and sometimes twice a day. Now saying that....he feels nothing and acts no different then usual. Is he doing something wrong dieting the process?

Regarding pot: Im an heroin addict who has now been taking sub for about a year. I relapsed about 4 times before I started smoking weed again. Now that I started smoking again I dont crave other opiates or any other hard drug. Pot helps me stay away from shit like heroin.

Suboxone and weed go great together.

suboxone detox

Hi, I'm knew to this so apologies in advance. Here is my history. About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with a nerve neuropathy disorder that is killing my nerves and causing muscle atrophy so it is very painful. I was sent to a specialist who prescribed me 4 perc 10mgs a day as needed. I soon found out that just because my pain may not be bad one day that I couldn't go very long without taking my meds because I would end up in withdrawls. So I told my doctor that all I needed was medication that wouldn't put me in withdrawls if I didn't need if for a couple days. His answer was to either keep taking the perc or I could change over to suboxone. I had no previous knowledge of suboxone, my doctor basicly told me I could take it to help with the opiate withdrawl and that it is non addictive and that I could stop whenever I liked with no ill effects. So I have been on suboxone for about 7 months now at 1mg dose once per day because the doctor claimed it would help with my pain as well (he had prescribed me two 8mg stripes a day and thank god i am scared of half of the medications out there and didnt trust him to ever take that much). Two weeks before I quit i dropped down to half of that dose. 7 days ago I took my last half dose however on day four (or the night of day four) I had horrible restless leg and believe me I know all about bad restless leg from my nerve disorder so I had to take a half dose to get through the night. My question is will that dose on day four set me back in my detox and will I have to go threw all the nasty stuff again? I'm so sick of being a slave to anything. I'm praying that it doesn't set me back because I have read day 7 starts to get better. Thanks for any and all help.

Well first off you need to calm down!

You need to do a taper you dont just jump off at .5 or 1mg whatever you said.

You have to taper, buprenorphine is a very strong opioid. Unfortunately doctors are still quite un educated about suboxone (buprenorphine).

How much do you have left.?

Can you get any more refills?

And what are you currently taking as mgs doses goes? Daily? Are you jumped off completely?

Do you have access to any benzos.?

Do you have access to Clonidine. ?

Do you have access to hydroxyzine. ?

If no to the above, well go further....

Do you have funds for st.johns wart?

Do you have funds for cimetidine.?

Those above 2 above are OTC

Describe withdrawls descriptive!

Also take COWS test/scale pdf format downloadable via google. If in fullblown withdraw

Discuss honestly the truth and all questions and concerns with your doctor * Best Bet For You*

But im here to help peace

Also side note
Try to obtain cannabis :)

That is unfortunate.. I have similar nerve problems and I know how absolutely horrid this is. My question is... What if you have pain in the future will you continue using suboxone? It is a highly addictive drug. I would recommend talking to a new doctor. Gabapentin would help a lot, do you get any other meds prescribed?

I'm having trouble finding subs. Me and my 3 friends are going to start taking them but only want to find someone to sell there scripts to us or someone overseas to ship. But having troubles finding anything we have the money and would be regularly ordering them if we found a legit supplier. Preferably strips since theres a lot of fake pills out there. But that's very hard ive realized even if we just found a couple people to sell there scripts each month for long term that would be cool. Any help or info please let me know or if you or someone you know would be interested thanks a lot! ( please no discouraging advice of " even if you do find someone there just gunna sell you fakes or send u nothing at all " or just "go to a local pharmacy" or " good luck with shipping customs" just annoys me and is just hater talk not meant to help. I no it's possible it's just going to be difficult finding reliable long term holders.) Thanks again guys take care

bup gets me insane

I fucking hate bup..the fucker just keeps getting me more down increasingly every month... I fucking hate How they played us.. Those corporations manipulating us...I fuckkng thought this could be the end of my addiction days..but who are we fucking kidddingggggg...Im more fucking addicted to Bup than i was ever on heroin... What makes me more disgusted is how it makes me angry at the slightest mistake occuring during my day at the job or any fucking where.. And the more i get pissed the more i take... and then i end up feeling so stressed i fuckkng need to blow tension with blow..is it only me or is freaking bup like that with everyone?

It's not uncommon for Opies to produce irritability.

Have you tried methadone?

Methadone saved my life years ago. It's safe for me and I managed to live pretty well and sober for years. Job, family, friends & no drugs but when I decided to quit, then you see the catch. Months decreasing + months tapering and one month withdraw.
I wanted to die and went through hell. Now I off methadone totally for 2 months + 6 days!

Lucky you..where i live we dont have methadone..but from what ive heard methadone is worse than buprenorphine..

It's worse because it's good- so to speak. With time you don't feel like doing any other drugs but it's a strong opiate. It has a very long life in your system. You can take it once a day and it takes 24-48 hours until your body notices something is missing.
If you use any of these meds for longer periods it will be equally difficult to quit. Maybe not equally but very difficult indeed.

Lots of people would agree with that. Because they are extremely effective in giving you a normal life. Thing is, it stays in your blood stream for a very long time.
It might take few months trying hard to quit either one of them.

Suboxone help. Please no bashing

PLEASE no bashing, as I know this was really dumb and ridiculous of my friend, but I would appreciate honest input. SWIM has been taking opiates recreationally for a while on and off. Recently SWIM started taking suboxone recreationally (dumb I know). He took it once a week for a month and then He's been taking it for 4-5 days straight, about 4 mg. Obviously he's not feeling the recreational effects anymore and is going to stop taking it. Do you think he'll experience w/d? (Important to note that he never experienced withdrawal from the opiates he was taking previous to the subs because he always spaced out usage).

We dont use SWIM, cat, fish, spider etc. here at BL and you will deff exp. Withdrawal if you have been taking that much said suboxone.

Buprenorphine is a very very strong substance, that currently not too many people have knowledge about it.

Buprenorphine is honestly for maintenance, yes you can use it recreational, but that comes with a price as you see, or will see.

if you can get yourself some more suboxone, id do that then wein off it! Quick.

if you feel you have a opiate problem, then you should look into rehab and or some kind of maintenance opioid.

Stacysmithva, I'd say try not taking it for a couple days. On day two if you feel any symptoms of withdrawal take a couple mg, wait as long ad you can .. Couple days, then take 1 mg. Wait as long as you can and gauge how you're feeling. Hopefully you will not experience wd symptoms.

That said, as aforementioned, suboxone is extraordinarily potent and works best as a short term maintenance or detox drug (or as prescribed for pain). A recreational dose for a non opioid tolerant person ranges from extremely low (MCG or .25mg to 1mg+/- of course). 4mg is excessive. Tread carefully!
