brief history
was in the deep end with benzos and heron for like 6 years
got almost 6 months clean,

i am feeling really good, eating./exercising properly

now when i fall asleep,
if my alarm goes off
or someone comes in my room

i wake up in a shock
and spring out of bed
heart pounding
takes me about 3 or 4 minutes to calm back down,

this is really getting annoying,
it kind of alarms my loved ones when they see me wake up like that,
they dont want to wake me up alot of times

other than that, i feel fine , i am happy , i dont want benzos or dope,
im just scared , i may have a heart attack one morning when this happens

guess it can be worse though

How do they wake you up? Do they jump on you as if to surprise you, or do they rub your arm and face until you wake up?

You can change the kind of alarm you have. I use a vibrating alarm clock. Perhaps you can try meditating before you go to bed to calm your nerves?

Also, I'm going to change the title slightly. It's a little confusing.

if they come into my room i usually spring right awake when i hear the door
if i leave my door open
and i hear my name i literally jump right out of bed and like ready to fight or flight

no bodies waking me up in a cruel way, maybe i should try that,

thanks for the suggestions, since the shits all out of my system i am a calm and serene fellah, its just this one little thing is getting to be too much,
shit
maybe tonight i'll try praying

Maybe you could try going to sleep with an action movie playing on tv or something, and gradually increase the volume?

When I hit a wall with insomnia/anxiety I was getting the same thing except no one needed to enter the room nor did an alarm need to go off. No matter what happened I would awake with a terrible start, heart usually pounding, me feeling terribly uncomfortable, and just generally anxious whilst having no idea why. Gradually it just seemed to fade away though its left a lasting impression on me and waking up is one of my least favorite things to do now though I don't wake up like I used to, its more the fear of having to awaken like that again daily. Best thing for me was to make sure to go to bed in a calm a state as possible and that sort of thing, nothing really worked unless I took some sort of sedative before bed that would be active upon awakening(since i'm an insomniac though I rarely sleep more than 6 hours a night regardless of sedation so this wasn't to difficult to achieve with something like trazodone).

I used to be like this, getting into meditation and exercise-particularly cardio 3-5X a week for at least 20-30 mins helped. Also maybe you should try ear plugs?

Also try using an alarm that has a radio play with a radio station of your choice, instead of the annoying BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! type.

thanks help and ptch

its nice to know im not the only one
Yeah it really sucked but it didn't seem to last an eternity or anything, I forgot to add like others added, besides taking a sedative being active/exercising a bit before bed really helped to at least make it so I was really drained and didn't have to much energy to really get to panicked when awakening.
