Stimulants + MMORPGs like WoW = a match made in heaven.

For those of us with ADHD/ADD, this is especially true, but it applies to anyone.

MMORPGs are video games which require massive time sinks to succeed. This means long hours of repetitive grinding. What better than stimulants like amphetamines, nicotine, or caffeine?!

Seriously, after playing WoW for years without Dexedrine (my DoC) and an E-cig, the difference is huge. I can literally play for hours on end non stop and achieve great success in the game.

Probably not the healthiest habit, but it certainly is the missing ingredient that allows people to achieve so much in these games. Not having to sleep + enjoying repetitive tasks + less appetite = a winner, even for those without ADHD/ADD.

Anyone else try this?

Think of the possibilities if you used all that amphetamine hyper focus to benefit mankind :)

But I do love to dopengame

Playing MMO on stimulants bores me as fuck. I enjoy them thoroughly sober though.

I prefer high twitch gameplay (shooters)
Or games you have to be master in before enjoyable and then you become Korean/God-tier (street fighter, tekken)

MMORPG is enough drug on its own,I got out of them before I started real drugs (alcohol n pot) but when I played em ages 14-16 caffeine in form of a 2liter was all I needed. Probably why if u give me an unlimited amount of code red mtn dewtoday I won't stop drinking it. Beware the soda monster

Drugs and mmorpg's, both equally great ways to waste your fucking life. I never did start using drugs until after I was done with online games like WoW and Anarchy Online (please tell me someone has heard of AO =p), but the first place I ever talked to drug users (I was a fairly sheltered child) was in WoW raid groups. A lot of people liked to use meth to get their dungeon grind on.

I have done this too, haha. Thing is everyone needs to fix their own world, and the world would be pretty much better.

Just by loving yourself and being happy, you spread it around. That's all we need to do really.

I escaped the World of Warcraft back during Cataclysm just before Pandaria came out. I still get intense feelings of nostalgia thinking back to the days of crusades/lich king back before you had to have 50 key binds, 500mg of caffeine & empty bottles to urinate in, because god forbid you had to take a break during a raid (inb4 OK LETS DO THIS LEEEEEEEEEEEERROOYYYYYYYYYY). I remember when I decided to stop playing, it's when I used the command /timeplayed or something and it was literally over a year of my life. Fuck that.

Personally, didn't ever need drugs to grind mindlessly for hours and hours. I find it oddly soothing and addicting by itself. For me stimulants combined with gaming are a recipe for disaster, you can't keep it up for too long without eating or sleeping until you realize you're a total wreck. It's scary when you've been playing for 30+ hours without eating or sleeping and can't seem to stop, as the game is suddenly even more rewarding. Competitive gaming, like attempting world firsts in WoW, I do believe stimulants give you quite an advantage, but you still gotta be careful not to end up looking like leoric lol.

Any kind PvP on stimulants, well it definately makes you feel even better when you keep winning against even tougher opponents, add in the praise you get from fellow players for your performance and voila.

Reading this thread is giving me incredibles urges to start playing WoW again... So many hours spent in there grinding for all the best PvP gear omg...

WoW and other mmorpg's are so fiendish. You devote all your time to grinding dungeons or PvP arena to get the best gear and then they come out with a new expansion with new gear, rendering all your hard work virtually meaningless. It's kind of like all the time and effort some of us here put into finding drugs and getting high.... you always wake up sober in the morning and the cycle continues ad nauseam.

To be completely honest, for me no other drug is as addictive as computers / gaming has ever been. Whenever I sit in front of my screen I imagine these wires going to my head feeding me the dopamine I so desperately crave. I completely lose all instinct to feed, sleep or socialize with the outside world. Whenever I'm away from the computer, I just can't make it without supplementing with what people would refer to actual drugs. It's not even fun, it's a goddamn prison that I have wired my brain around since very early childhood. Good bye life, internet is where I have been living for the vast majority of my life, it's what my brain has accepted as reality. When other people watch the world change, I watch the internet change, occasionally popping out to the outside world just to quickly check out the patches real life has received out of curiosity.

I don't think I have the means to become best of the world or damn near it anywhere else except in the context of gaming, and the virtual fame and praise you get from fellow players if you manage to reach the top level is like digital cocaine to me. Another disappointing and utterly humiliating event in life happened? Gotta get back that feeling of self-worth through showing other people just how much better you can be compared to them.

Sadly though, my mental health seems to be detoriating year by year and my performance goes down the drain along with it, feeling like an athlete reaching physical decline. And this, fellow players, is where the lure of performance enhancing drugs comes in. They intensify all the rewards exponentially because not only winning feels better, you are able to win even harder opponents. I don't know if I consider this an unfair advantage, as there must be loads of people playing stimmed up with legitimate amphetamine / methylphenidate prescriptions. More like leveling the playfield.
