This is something I always get after doing stimulants.

I'll go to bed and, as I'm just starting to fall asleep, I'll get this weird pounding heart and shortness of breath combination. It's really startling, but it only lasts like two seconds. It used to be only after coke and speed binges but now I seem to get it if I just drink too much caffeine or smoking too many cigarettes.

Have any other stim users experienced this? Does it signify anything?

I've looked it up on other forums and the consensus seems to be "it's just stress," but I'm still a little concerned.

Stimulants STIMULATE your nervous system...there are specific physiological reactons to this stimulus. Google it...you should always know how a drug will generally effect you before you take it. Do some research k? I don't mean this to sound shitty, sorry if it sounds that way.

Yeah, IDK man, you seem to be inferring that a general overview of stimulant CNS effects would tell me everything I need to know about what I described in OP, and I'm just not sure that's the case.

Shortness of breath and racing, irregular heartbeat are both pretty standard responses to stimulants. Stimulants also dehydrate you which can disrupt electrolyte balance, which also affects heart rhythm. I would say nothing to worry about unless you have a preexisting condition. Just saying know what you are taking and any possible side effects just to be safe.
