House huh?
Well, no house collection is complete without any Oakie (Paul Oakenfold) in it, Global Underground, his Cream residence, and CD will house you

Bad Boy Bill, Armand Van Helden... Start here and then go for your tastes, try new shit out...
chill

...beatin nuts is only a hobby...
rollin my ass off is my job :-)

Sasha,Nick Warren,Digweed,Seb Fontaine, and Tenaglia from the global underground series are all good, and so it the Northern exposure cd's... also John Bishop (hard house)Dave ralph transport II.. and richie Hawtin(decks, efx, and 909) some some of my fav cd's i have

2 suggestions for the new year - Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx - House music with a twist!
Nonetheless, good, good blood pumping music. A little commercial, but what works, works.

Bad Boy Bill!!!!! Bangin' the Box vol. 3 is da best! I'd stay away from 4.

phats and small
jeno-"united DJs of america"
Leftfield "Leftism"
Basement Jaxx "Remedy"
Groove Armada "Vertigo"
john kelley- "high desert soundsystem" or something like that... forgot the title. :/

Terry Mullan
Frankie Bones
Donald Glaude
Bad Boy Bill
Richard Humpty Vision
Disco D
and Dj Funk are at the top of my list
and hey, with a name like mine, you gotta believe me
------------------
"whatever it is i think i
see, becomes a tootsie
roll to me"

DONALD GLAUDE AND BASEMENT JAXX!
------------------
"ya got the househeads, breakbeat junkies, drum and base purists, hardhouse people and all the ravers across america."

People, he wants HOUSE not TRANCE...anyway..I only have two that you need to buy..but I also have both DJ Dan cds and really don't think they're all that great. Humpty and BBBill cds suck cause they have like 50 songs and mix in a new one like every 30 seconds...wayyyyy too cookie cutter.
Pick up these, the tracks are dope, the builds are fantastic, and the songs are allowed to PLAY OUT before a new mixes in.
Mixin Marc - 4 the Klubheadz
DJ Skribble and Anthony Acid - MDMA vol. 2
Those cds are the shit if you like progressive house and are sick of BBBill's gay 30 second mixes. Sure, he's talented, but he doesn't need to show it off in EVERY SINGLE 50 track cd he has...

Maurer

ive gotta agree with DjMaurer about BBB.--- All the GlobalUnderground's are fantastic but if your lookin for house DEFINATELY grab DannyTanglia GU006.
other HOUSE favorites are-
* Kevin Yost> small town underground
* BasementJaxx> remdey
* Dubtribe> live if possible
* MarkFarina> united DJ's (kinda old)
But be sure to CHECK out KEVIN YOST!! hes so fuckin tight!

hey DJ Maurer, where du u buy your cd's The Wall?. MDMA II is the most commercial cd i've ever heard, and it has like 3 or 4 good songs on it....
for house i like
tenaglia 006
Richie Hawtin Decks, efx, &909 (and yes there are 38 tracks on it, but if the music kicks ass who cares, besides it sounds just like the set he had at Engage)
also, Jon Bishop (clubnights vol. 1)
and Digweed sydney 001.
and Dj Maurer, not to bust your bubble, but since you probably frequent "the Wall", or some other record store that has a electronic section as big as my car glovebox, you might like "New York Underground" it's very commercial, like MDMA II, but it has alot of good songs on it

Wax or CD's? If wax get "Overdrive" for sure and "Pumping" (It's track 14 of Donald Glaude's - Off the Hook album), they both rock...

Do some of you people even know what house is???? I'm sorry, but most of the GU cd's are NOT house. Northern Exposure cd's are NOT house.
The only GU cd that I'd reccommend for house would be John Digweed - Sydney. That is BY FAR the best GU cd there is. I'm not just saying that 'cause I;m from Sydney. This album has got some of THE funkiest stuff I have ever heard. It leans toward more of a tribla house feel. There's heaps of drums and funky beats, and alot of tribal sounding vocals in the background. This album focuses on the BASS. It's deep, it's dark and it's dirty and it POUNDS. Everything Diggers is. I love you DIGGERS!
ANYWAY,
Terry Mullan - Speaker Phreaker
Derrick Carter ANYTHING
Danny Tenaglia - Tourism
DJ Dan
DJ Sneak
Paul Johnson
Sonique
Gene Farris
Again, it depends on what kind of house you're after...alot of the people here are just DJ's, but if go hunting for their cd's just look at the tracklisting and you'll get a few ideas for some producer's to look out for. You'll often see the same names pop up.
It also depends on what genre of house you're looking for. There are so many now, and they kind of all cross over. I myself have gotten into the Funky/tribal/tech/electro house..see what I mean about it crossing over?? I think house is all about BASS. and beats. BEATS AND BASS. That's enough from me now

Shit, if you were aussie I could give you the names of some awesome compilations and producers. Oh well. Good luck.
cheers
mona.
