I recently started worrying about serotonin syndrome as I'm pretty much a hypochondriac. A brief rundown of my medicene history: I took zoloft 50Mg from age 14 til I was about 20 n had to go up to 100, after about 3 years it wasn't working as well so I went up to 150 for a few days n was switched to paxil 40Mg. During spring a dr had me switch to anafranil (clomipramine) 200Mg since I had slight ocd. Didn't like it so went back to paxil. It quit helping a few months ago so I went through a dangerous stage of quitting paxil outright n going back to anafranil then back to paxil. Finally I went back to zoloft n have been back on it for around a month or longer. Then I had klonopin added 0.5 every other day to my zoloft. Hated that it was a benzo n switched to buspar 10 mg once or twice a day. I got to where I was up to zoloft 150 MG a day for a few days with buspar 10 mg a day n was worried so dropped thr zoloft to 100 (I know DONT self medicate). Well the last week or so I would take 0.25 or 0.5 klonopin once a week maybe while buspar was building up. I have been disoriented with headaches here n the n bloodshot eyes n heart beat a little fast and I was shaky. My temp was fine n my blood pressure was good. I quit taking zoloft and buspar 3 days ago n still worry about serotonin syndrome as it can be fatal. My mom (a nurse) says its just anxiety.

Any suggestions? I feel like my serotonin levels would havr dropped in 3 days with no meds or at least my symptoms would have gotten worse had that been the case. Could I even have a fatal case of serotonin syndrome from that dose of zoloft n buspar?

NOTE: I also smoke MJ

First, never stop your zoloft again. 100mg seems to be the best dose for you. An ssri alone can NEVER produce serotonin syndrome. And buspar is widely used with ssris. It doesn't cause serotonin syndrome neither. The problems you have are from the buspar and they're common. My advice : stay at 100mg of zoloft and take the buspar only if you think it's worth the side effects.
Your mom is right. Maybe the mj is causing that anxiety...
