Since about a year ago ive been blessed with anxiety. Ever time i associate myself with drugs i get it no matter what. I was wondering if any of you had any special tricks or things you do that helps. I myself take deep breaths, think happy good thoughts, and go for walks. IF you can help me i would love it.

I would try going to a doctor, if you actually have clinical anxiety, they'll probably put you on Alprazolam, or something similar.
If, on the other hand, your anxiety is strictly-drug related, then they will tell you to stop taking drugs.
What I do (and this doesn't mean it's the best for you) is take bezodiazepines (valium, klonopin, etc) Then again, these are prescription-only medications, so you're going to have to get "creative" in order to get hold of some. They help me cope with the anxiety and paranoia that I sometimes get from X/meth/K.

with taking long deep breaths try "breathing with your stomach". when you inhale try to have your belly grow bigger, this works for me and I've read that this relaxes much of the muscles in your chest and stomach to help more with anxiety.

Good strenuous exercise IMO helps relieve Anxiety and mild depression.. Good music helps.. Breathing helps some, but not much on its own.. 2 years ago i was pretty depressed with anxiety.. Whenever I felt those feelings I would go run until I exhausted myself.. Doing this and coming to terms with the source made it all but go away! It has a way of releasing the anxiety in the form of phsyical energy.. Take time to relfect.. Try and at least have an hour of peace every day..
Also if its a specific thing or reason that causes anxiety (not just general), be sure to remove yourself from it..

It is interesting that your anxiety is coupled to taking drugs.
If the drugs you are taking are the MDXX kind (likely, as you are posting to this site), your anxiety may be completely related to a blood sugar imbalance.
MDXX substances tend to have an anorexic affect on appetite "RAVER GIRL DIET" :) .
Not eating or eating poorly can cause low blood sugar, or even reactive hypoglycemia ( a reaction to sugar intake marked by an overproduction of insulin, causing low blood sugar followed by a burst of adrenalin).
This adrenalin coupled with serotonin could easily cause 'floating anxiety'( one of the major symptoms of clinical hypoglycemia is ANXIETY, especially after it seems to get better after a few days of good exercise, rest, and healty eating.
Just a thought.

Thank you karlydee. And i know i have some wierd thing going on with my blood but i just dont know what it is. I eat extremely healthy and exercise regularly. Also when i find myself working out alot my veins stick way out of my skin. Some people tell me its because i have no fat and other people tell me it because i have little iron in my blood. Its all a mysterious and hopefully sometime i figure the anxiety thing out. Thanks guys

What I do when depressed or having anxiety problems is try to listen to more up beat music or happier stuff. Though it's hard sometimes since it feels like I understand the music when I have slower or music that isn't so happy. If music isn't the answer for me at that point, I just try to get some buddies together to play some road hockey or something I enjoy with friends like a sport or something. That usually does the trick for me and allows me to calm down and realize that things aren't as bad as they seem.

I totally agree with karlydee. I just did some research about
hypoglycemia, and it became obvious that this condition might
play a pivotal role in many panic attacks people are suffering.
How many times do we hear about people dropping pills on
empty stomaches and then party all night long. Look at the
following link (many other link if you search anxiety+hypoglycemia)

It seems like it's best not to drop on an empty stomach, or to eat some
light snacks throughout the night.

What is your drug history if I may ask?
There are quite some benzos and opiates in that list?

Well anxiety SUCKS, it's one of the really annoying diseases out there.
There isnt much you can do with it. There are some suggestions in this thread, but they all work minimally and on the short term.
You should rewire your brain if you want to get rid of it forever Im afraid.

Anyway excercise/yoga/nutrition/friends/hobbies/drugs are a few suggestions. I would leave all drugs alone for a while (quite hard, I know). And see where it takes you from there. Maybe spend some time with family and friends -> they can be good anxiety relievers. Or maybe visit a specialist for some talking or something.
Anyway good luck!

I'm prescribed Xanax for my panic attacks and anxiety. I always keep 2+ pills in my wallet ALWAYS just incase I start to feel a attack come on. I also bring them with me when I am about to trip or smoke a lot of dank because they help the drug induced anxiety. Try not to take benzos every day though because they start to make the problem worst, especially once you run out :(

Sometimes I think of a song and sing it in my head. One that is upbeat and that I really enjoy, like Finchy said. I really like music though so it's probably different for other people.
In my case the song is usually Jet- Are You Gonna Be My Girl or something similar. Now if your favorite music is death metal, it may or may not help, lol, but give it a try.

Being well rested, well nourished, and taking slow, deep breaths occasionally, works for me. I also try not to get too emotional about things, but sometimes i do. All you can do is work on it. I'm not even close to being as anxiety-prone as i used to be.
If i ever use benzo's again (i haven't taken any in about a year), I'd use them VERY moderately. I wouldn't even want to take them 2 days in a row.... Strictly as required. Once i start catching a buzz of them, that's it, i jones for everything after that.

My preferred method of managing anxiety is slowed, controlled breathing.

Rather than just breathing deeply, you also breathe slowly, reducing (slightly) the oxygen levels in your body. This induces a state of relaxation.

At rest, you can hold for 2 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, then in for 3 seconds, then hold for 2 seconds etc.

This turns out as:

Hold 2
Out 4
In 3
Hold 2
Out 4
In 3

and so forth. You can do this for as long as you like, aim for approximately 2 minutes at a time.

I've had to start on an anti-anxiety medication. I was using Valium for sometime and became hopelessly addicted to it. Coming off Valium was Hellish.

I'm now on an SSRI called Luvox. It's starting to change my life. I feel as though I'm becoming a normal human again. Sure it has some small side effects but the side effects certainly way out the day to day battle with Anxiety.

Talking with a Psych has helped me a lot too.

shals :D
