So how do you resist?

I can honestly say I do not believe I am addicting to opiates. I hardly can get my hands on them, but when I do I can't resist them.

If I get 20 percs, they will be gone in like 4 days. (5 at once, once a day). I always tell myself to space it out, but i rarly can. I don't get withdrawls or anything from the weeks I dont have any which is why I do not believe I am addicted, I just can't seem to space my limited supply.

How do you guys and gals space out your supply? Is it easy for you to just say "Once a week" and stick to it?

:)

Sounds like to me, the only reason you aren't addicted, is because they aren't easily obtainable, but I'd imagine you'd be hooked sooner than you think by your attitude. Besides, you won't have w/d if you only use a couple days out of the month, even in succession.

cmon now.

If you have an addictive personality, you are doing the right thing.

Keep in this situation, and you are sure to be in the clear.
Keeping drugs rare to you is the perfect way to space out.

This keeps tolerance and withdrawals to a minimum. Which increase your chances of blowing off cravings to alter your mind.

Are you trying to resist them but unable to? Or do you just always happen to want them and dont actually try to resist them?

Its like when I run out I'm pissed and say to myself ok next time ill space it out to once maybe twice a week. Then I get more and love it so much I do it everyday. I think your right when you say id prob be screwed if I had a real supply... but is it this hard for everyone that's not addicted to opiates? I mean we all love them but do you almost crave them so much its nearly impossable to even skip a day?

You know I think deep down I don't even try.. I tell myself I don't have enough to get hooked. But I do get like huge cravings. Ill find myself counting how many hours its been since I ate and if my stomach is empty and crap like that everyday then end up taking them even though I swore id not take it that day.

Do you see it causing problems in your life? You seem a little concerned about it, like maybe you are reaching out for help.

In my opinion, you might be better off smoking weed. The tolerance wont nab you the same way, and it wont make you sick when you develop a habit. I only use opiates because if I dont I will be doubled over in pain.

And even when I get a pretty decent load (60 oxycodone 10mgs). I still have a hard time not doing it everyday. Ill actually take more a day and seem to run out just as fast. I guess I just have almost no will power when it comes to these things and I need to just be happy I don't have any real hookups.

I make 150 oxy last for the month.

That wasn't very helpful lol

Anyways, I found that the only way to actually space it out is to actually WANT to. I'm not saying you don't want to, but try setting your mind to only twice a week, even if you think you can't. It took my a while when I used to do MDMA about 2 years ago, I was doing it constantly even when I had constant hookups. I just sat down for a while before bed and set a goal to only do it once a week. Eventually I stopped doing it completely for 1.5 years then started doing it only every 5 months.

Plus, if you end up spacing it out to once a week, you'll save 7x the amount and have your 60 pill stash for 8 weeks instead of only 10 or so days. You can save a lot of money that way.

Yeah your right. I think part of the problem is I have the bottle in the bathroom so every morning I wake up and when I'm using the bathroom I'm either thinking damn I gotta go to work and deal with bitchy customers for 9 hours I need this. Or ill be off and then its like man let's really enjoy this day. I think I'm going to move them to a place in the house I don't visit as much to atleast get them from arms reach from everytime I'm in the bathroom. Then I should be able to will myself a lot easier. I can't explain how frustrating it is to go through these things this fast and seem like I wasted them.

In my opinion the oxy high or even a morphine high isnt spectacular....not compared to mind blowing drugs like 2cb, or mixing MDMA and mescaline, or something awesome like that. It is highly habit forming....but so is smoking, and the high with that isnt so terrific either.....maybe for a few seconds when its new, but the experience is hardly worth damaging your lungs. Tobacco kind of sucks, unless its strong tobacco used very rarely out of a pipe or something.

Life wont be any worse if you only have weed and no opiates....unless you are addicted and you dont want that.

It was always really hard not to go through it faster than I could get now. Now I get enough pills that I could use it more than I do. For me, it wasn't about doing it all the time, it was how will this time I get high effect me right now logically? If I didn't have the money for more soon, I would try not to take it then. If me being high was going to upset my significant other I would try to maybe take it at another time. I just TRY to be logical I guess. But it doesn't always work out that way. I know when it came to meth (which I no longer do) it was nearly impossible to reason with the meth monster.

Yeah, sounds to me like you'd have a habit in a minute if you had a regular supply. I loved opiates from the first time I tried them but I didn't have regular access to them for years, the second I had regular access I started to develop an every day habit.

If you don't want a habit you'll have to try and avoid them, it's not easy, once you've been bit by the opiate bug. Good luck.

The knowledge that if I do more than I should it will ruin the feeling is what makes it easy to resist; don't want to mess up a good thing...

Every month I have extra. I do this because I flip out if I think that I would go without.....for me its not just WDs but the underlying stomach pain.

You're addicted. Just because you don't have a constant supply doesn't mean you're not. Addiction is more mental than physical, you seem to think its the other way around. Your mind will become addicted far before your body. The physical parts of addiction like wd's and cravings are only symptoms of a bigger problem. Just by the things you've said like your cravings and how you can't control yourself when you have them are indications you have a problem. I haven't used in 2 months but i know i'm still addicted.

So to answer your question. Very few people can chip. I've tried it, but no matter how much your mind tells you you want to be responsible about it and only do a little here and there, the addiction tells you you want it all RIGHT NOW. The only thing i can think of that would make it work is if you took a few months off, cleared it out of your head, and then tried chipping. The sad reality of it all is that few people can do this.

Good luck
